Avatar f tn Tonight my DH asked if I knew of a good pregnancy book for HIM to read. I have the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy for myself, but he doesn't want something that big. I asked specifically what he is looking to find out. He said he doesn't know anything (first child for either of us) except what I tell him, and wants something to help him with both me and the pregnancy.

435139 tn?1255460391 i;ve never used it for pregnancy or anything like that...just back pain and other issues (not breathing well) and i can tell you its amazing! You won't feel the needles b/c they're the size of a hair!! good luck!
Avatar f tn My hospital gave me the basic pregnancy book that explains the process month by month. I read the whole, thing and found it very helpful.
Avatar f tn I keep a pregnancy journal for myself so I can remember for the next pregnancy. Even though I got pregnant when my daughter was 8 months old I had already forgotten a lot about my pregnancy with her. It's really neat comparing the two. Plus then you can save it for your daughter when she starts having babies so she can have a frame of reference.
800427 tn?1324945719 i posted on the big pregnancy forum about a list of books to see if i could get any good reccomendations for pregnancy books or fictional pregnancy books about women going thru pregnancy. i thought it might be an enjoyable experience for us to be able to read our pregnancy guides together and then be able to ask eachother questions about what we're confused about or what we thought was interesting...what we disliked and so on..lemme know if your in!

Avatar f tn I'm about 7 weeks and been eating what seems like way to much. I feel really bloated. Constantly peeing. Every once in awhile I'll feel cramping and discharging. Haven't really had morning sickness. Sorry a whole lot of info I just want to know if all this is normal. My first doctors appointment isn't until March 25. My doctor won't see me till I'm about 10 weeks or so.
671132 tn?1335247006 free yourself from emotional eating forever. His name was Dr Roger Gould. I think that he was strong on focussing on the current reality. This helped me heaps on my ocd which has become manageable. He has several websites you may be interested in visiting. shrinkyourself.com (free subscription and he asks questions in his newsletters which you can work through yourself. It doesn't just apply to food or emotional eating.) myvirtualshrink.com. cdt for depression and anxiety.
Avatar f tn In all honesty, though, pregnancies differ. Some people have an awful time, while I, for one, love pregnancy and would always be pregnant if kids weren't so expensive.
Avatar f tn I was considering buying a copy of your book (?the one about emotional eating) for my mother for Xmas. Then I thought I was behaving a little impulsively. It is not always about the book, but about how we apply that information to our lives. I was wondering how this would be any different to me buying her other books such as Atkins, Dr Phil (which I have done in the past). I am afraid that I am just repeating a cycle. What are your thoughts on this.
Avatar n tn First time mom to be here currently at 5 wks... I tried googling this question, needless to say I didn't get very far. Can anyone provide a website or book with recipes for expectant mothers? As I said I tried google but only found what foods moms to be should eat. Thanks in advance!!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know where I can purchase a baby book for a girl???? The one where it has all her first moments and information leading up to her birth.
Avatar f tn For a normal pregnancy you would add 300 more calories to your base calories. I just checked my Healthy Eating During Pregnancy book, that suggests 2,400 calories minimum. I'd check your doctor to be sure you aren't under or over eating.
Avatar f tn Your hormones and everything is going haywire and just pregnancy in general is hard for anyone. Have you told anyone yet as in your parents, and the father of your little one? If you have not told anyone I can imagine you are under alot of stress. We are here to help you in any way at any time . Have you started your prenatal vitamins yet? Prenatal care is very important to you and the little peanut!
Avatar f tn What to expect. It uses plain English and no complicated terms that no one can ever pronounce.
Avatar f tn What to expect when you're expecting (you can find the book second hand for so cheap) has a pregnancy diet in it. It's hard to stick exactly to it, but it is great as an outline! I would recommend it.
1473300 tn?1397588529 I have not read this book, but I am 20wks preg with twins, and have gained 10lbs. I am 5'7 and starting weight was 126. My Dr has not mentioned anything about my weight, or lack of.....I wonder what the books says I should have gained?????
Avatar f tn Thanks alot for reasuring me ladys And I just read my question so many words mixed up my damn iPhone lol
Avatar f tn Not so much a question but wanted to share a great pregnancy book for new mommies and veteran mommies. Love this book because it has all the facts and science, no personal opinions or religious views. Just plain and simple facts about what's happening with your body before, during and after birth. Including labor, postnatal development and disorders. It also has amazing pictures that go along with every page and a DVD.
Avatar f tn Go to the book store and pick up that book What to expect when expecting. My friend had one and gave it to me and i have found that its good to have to resort to for questions and why this happens or why u feel the way your feeling. Its got everything in there from eating healthy, month to month guide of whats happening to your body as baby grows, whats safe or not safe to do, how to exercise and not over do it, explains symptoms your having that u might not understand.
