It all depends on your eating and exercise habits =) the same as being underweight.

Avatar f tn Are eating disorders on record at all as being communicable? As someone who has been suffering with one for over 15 years now, I would like to propose that they are.
Avatar f tn Whenever I bring this topic up to my health care providers, they gloss over the importance of exercise and diet, and minimize the concern since I've always had a BMI of 30 or less. Of course, this offers nothing for my physical limitations to vigorous exercise, and my "appetite disorder" as I call it. My thyroid labs are normal, and I'm otherwise very healthy with the exception of needing effexor for mild anxiety/depression.
Avatar f tn I have never heard of DBT being used for eating disorders. It is an excellent program used for Borderline Personality Disorder; have you been diagnosed with that? For some people with BPD there is a strong tendency to eating disorders as well as other addictions, so if you are diagnosed with BPD it could help your eating disorder indirectly to get treatment for that. What did the doctor you saw recommend? Nothing?

Avatar n tn As long as they aren't first cousins or brother/sister it's not a big deal. Genetically there is enough difference at that level that their risks aren't increased anymore then anyone else. If they are worried they can do prenatal screening.
