Avatar f tn I believe that I may be on my way to an eating disorder. I am 34 years old, 5'3" and I weigh 107. I am very petite and always have been. I haven't truely ever worked out, I've just been very very lucky. Even after having two kids, I lost all the weight without doing much. From as far back as I can remember I have always had problems eating if I was overly stressed or emotional about something. During those times, I will not eat.

You might want to consider some support in the form of counseling from a therapist experienced with eating disorders. OA is also a good source of support and learning and working the steps with a sponsor. It's hard to do this alone.
Avatar f tn Being fearful of gaining weight and continually working to keep your weight at an unnatural low is indeed the sign you may have an eating disorder. Nobody can diagnose you online but I assume you are posting because you suspect that is what is going on. But you are ahead of the game because you recognize it is not healthy! I encourage you to get some help. It may not be something you can just figure your way out of.
1564404 tn?1295154236 You definitely have an eating disorder. There is something called non specific, where you niether fit exactly into a catergory.Purging is not good for you ,EVER. NO matter how often , its so bad for your body and teeth. I have suffered from bulimia and I know its a struggle. MY advice is to not restrict yoursefl to 300 cal a day or anything under1200-1500. Your body will go into starvation mode and retain more water and food and in the long run it will make you fatter and unhealthy.

1202981 tn?1265620378 This is a website where people who think they may have an eating disorder come to get help. Vomiting after eating because you feel you are fat or want to lose weight is a very bad idea. It leads to all sorts of medical problems and leads to the development of an eating disorder which means your whole life can become obsessed with bingeing and purging (vomiting) and you are miserable. Just ask anyone on this website who's been there. Like me.
Avatar f tn In the time shortly after that she had a torn esophagus and we discovered she had been bulimic for almost 1 1/2 years. After dealing with the eating disorder and following a gluten free diet she seemed to be doing great. She began eating normal foods again and no recurrence of the Celiac Sprue so we thought there was a mis-diagnosis. She has developed polyps on her vocal cords so the dr's did an EGD and gave us the news about the Barrett's and that the duodenum was also inflamed.

Avatar f tn Look up on the web for natural foods for anxiety. MSG has 13 other names and has neurological effects. Start eating fresh fruits/vegetables, look up the dangers of microwaving foods. For depression, it might help to start helping others and putting your focus on that...it is build in the human that when we help others, we stop concentrating on what we have wrong inside with negative thoughts and your brain will change to the positive. Get some books on positive thinking.
Avatar f tn An eating disorder can be when you "don't have control" over your eating habits, or when you have obsessive control over your eating habits. If you have eating behavior not clearly defined as anorexia or bulimia, its called Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified or EDNOS. I want to tell you that you are a very strong person to recognize this and that you want to change it. That is the first step.
Avatar f tn This confirmed a motility disorder. My GI now wants me to begin taking Reglan with the hope that I will be able to tolerate a low enough dose to switch to the Canadian made similiar medication not available in the US. Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with PTSD and mood disorder. I am on a host of drugs that leave me zombie-like. I am taking Lamictal, Seroquel, Klonopin, Trazadone and Lithium. My Lithium dosage is 1050 mg a day. I am so tired and the weight gain and hair falling out are just two of the most troubling symptoms. My dr. doesn't even want me on an anti-depressant which I think will help. I am missing the occasional glass of wine. Do you think it is okay to have one while on these meds?
1659011 tn?1307486147 Hey I'm Hannah and I'm 17(: I'm battling an eating disorder right now and am making great progress but have noticed every time I stand up everything turns black and I almost pass out. I'm eating like the average person now, have been for about 2 days so It's not my eating disorder. It's getting very annoying. Also I lose my breath so fast it's ridiculous. I can't stand for longer then a few minutes before I'm gasping for air.

Avatar f tn No insurance so kind of stuck there. there is an underlying illness that the eating disorder is a symptom of, depending on the person is to what that illness is, but it goes alot deeper than losing weight, dieting, and food.
Avatar f tn It would be best to see an eating disorder physician specialist to treat your concerns and answer your questions. Neither the difficulty purging or mucus build-up sounds like long-term effects of bulimia. It would be good to have the medical doctor check for any possible long-term effects that might be specific to you.
Avatar f tn My favorite things to snack on are pretzels with hummus, grapes, popcorn, pineapple chunks, deviled eggs, and then chicken noodle soup is always nice. (You can even get can pineapple and put it in the freezer for an hour or so.. frozen pineapple is delicious!) tuna with crackers, etc.. Do you cook? You should look on pinterest for healthy food/snack ideas. I dealt with bulimia 7years ago and always hated the shame that came with it.. I feel for you and pray you get control of it. For me..
