Common Questions and Answers about Early pregnancy roller coasters

pregnant

Avatar f tn I will bee going to disney and planned on going to universal studios which have many roller coasters. I am only 5 weeks pregnant. Is it ok if i go on the roller coasters?
Avatar f tn I know someone who rides roller coasters when pregnant. You aren't very far along so I would assume it would be fine. Might check with your Dr though.
Avatar f tn Ok so ive read & heard that pregnant women shouldnt ride roller coasters after the first half of the first trimester, but does that also include the rides that arent so jerky?? Is it safe to ride the ones that arent wild and dont pull & jerk you around too much?? See we're ((my family & friends)) going to Busch Gardens next weekend...ill be about 8 weeks...and i was just curious to see if anyone has ridden rides around that time of your pregnancy??
Avatar f tn I agree w/ the other ladies - you will be fine. Things like roller coasters are a big no-no later on in pregnancy but not a problem early on in pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I mean carousel is okay amd similar ones but not roller coasters.
Avatar f tn Going to take the kids to the amusement park this weekend. I love roller coasters. It says on most websites that they are dangerous for pregnant women. Im taking the safe route, im 10 weeks along. I wish I could go on them with the kids. I guess for this time I will have to live thru the kids. What other things are you sacrificing for your little baby bumps?
Avatar f tn Quick question ladies. So I believe that I'm ovulating within the next few days since I just got a lot of EWCM. This makes sense since AF is set to come June 6 assuming that my cycle is back on track. My dillema is, that my husband and I were planning to go the Busch Gardens June 6 for our anniversary. Sooooo, if I did conceive this month (this weekend) then that would put me at 4 weeks pg. Is going on the roller coasters then going to affect me??
Avatar f tn my NS as well said that I would need to avoid roller-coasters as well post-op....completely. The gravitational pull that goes along with roller coasters can cause the tonsils to herniate more and for the CSF to build up in the wrong places. Especially only 3 months post-op. IO know six flags is so much fun, but you may consider umniversal studios....it has lots of different rides that are not roller coasters, but that are ALOT of fun. THis is always our choice for this reason.
772910 tn?1249563035 My period was due today, but nothing yet. Since my temperature has been dropping steadily over the past few days, I'm sure it's a no, but...just in case, does anyone know anything about first trimester and roller coasters? I've read about dangers later on, but are Disney rollers coasters rough enough to hurt a "maybe" five week old embryo?
Avatar f tn Nooooooo. It can cause you to have a miscarriage. It ***** not being able to ride roller coasters, but it's for the safety of your baby.
Avatar f tn I am 2 months pregnant and have a season pass to great America. I really wanna keep riding the coasters until I am 3 months. Have you done it before or asked your doctor?
4204106 tn?1374701216 No you shouldn't do any of those things. It could hurt your baby. That's why they tell you not to go horse back riding, go on water slides and roller coasters. Especially this early in your pregnancy the baby hasn't developed yet. Just swim, get a nice tan and enjoy the sun!!
Avatar f tn Yes you should be fine my first pregnancy I drinked an was on roller coasters didnt know I was pregnant healthbbaby
Avatar n tn Your baby will be fine if h u can be healthy from now on, i was in the same situation, found out at nearly 19w and was drinking, smoking and going on roller coasters without knowing i was preg. I was so scared, my midwife laughed n said everything is perfect.
Avatar f tn The reason roller coasters have warnings saying no pregnant women is because it can cause the placenta to separate from your uterus but your safe to do it up untill around 15 weeks
Avatar f tn I got into a horrible car accident about a week before I found out I was pregnant where my convertible (a miata) ended up being totaled and spinning across four lanes of traffic. I was placed on vicodin for the pain because my back was messed up and was seeing a chiropractor and had an xray. When I found out I was pregnant I was FREAKING out, but my doctor said that it was too early in the pregnancy for any real harm to be caused.
Avatar n tn Is look up why not a roller coaster....you get jostled the sane way. Maybe there will be an answer..
12108707 tn?1423769878 You should stay off roller coasters and shaky rides. Disney has a few that are safe to ride, Knotts probably has a list of safe ones to ride too!
Avatar f tn In the amusement parks themselves it says pregnant woman should not go on rides. It can actually cause harm to the baby.
Avatar f tn I am only 6 yrs post op and I know I would not be going on roller coasters anymore....but I am much older then you.....and I love roller coasters....I try to find the virtual reality rides to watch on line to help give the sensation... without the risks. Keep us posted on what you decide and how it goes.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm 15 and I went on a a lot of roller coasters earlier. It has been 5 hours and I have bad headaches. When I try to sleep it feels like I'm riding a roller coaster. It is weird I know l. I don't recall banging it only anything. Please help.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to go on things like water slides, roller coasters and other rides similar to that?
Avatar m tn One must avoid neck jerking, stressful activites like football, tennis, basketball, weight/furniture lifting, wave pools, roller coasters, backpacking, extended reading or sleeping with the head bent down or up etc. therefore it would be prudent to avoid roller coaster riders for your own safety. Hope this helps and you can take it as a word of caution. Take care.
