early pregnancy hives

Have any of you had hives as a pregnancy symptoms? I started getting them early on in my pregnancy and had never had them before. I have my first doctor appoimtmemt wed. So I will ask them just wanted to see if anyone else got them!

I went to my doctor today and he said that hives can happen and I'm doing blood work tomorrow and what you said it could be doesn't usually show during early pregnancy. I'm hoping for a good outcome!

I went in at 6 weeks and had a dating ultrasound. Find a ob and schedule an appointment they'll let you know when to come in. some doctors don't right away. Congrats!

Hello, You seem to be having Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy(PUPP). ). It is characterized by small red bumps and hives, and when severe, the bumps form large patches. This rash usually develops on the abdomen, and spreads to the thighs, buttocks, breasts and arms. Slight itching from PUPPP may cause mild discomfort. However, PUPPP does disappear after delivery.

Have anyone ever had pregnancy hives in their last trimester..? I have had them after giving birth to my last child...The Dr say's it's common after birth.. So they wanted to see me right away...

Yes,,the first obgyn clinic she went to told her they didn't believe in pregnancy hives and told her they were bug bites...we'll, they sent her home and she ended up in ER... They had gotten severely worse in that period of time that the ER doc took pictures of her cause he had never seen anything like it.

I havent had any of my normal premenstrual cramps and i havent changed anything in my daily routine that could cause hives. This is my first outbreak of hives and it is primarily on my buttocks, thighs, and arms. Anyone have hives before they got a BFP.

Google cholestasis my friend got that during her pregnancy I'm not sure if it's relative to your condition but maybe. She had to be induced early because of it though cause it could affect her baby. If it was that your doctor would have probably known though.

Hi, welcome to the forum, the most common causes of skin manifestations in pregnancy are Pemphigoid gestationis, Pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP, also known as polymorphic eruption of pregnancy), Prurigo of pregnancy, Pustular psoriasis of pregnancy (impetigo herpetiformis) and Cholestasis. In your case, PUPP seems to be possible cause. The early, urticarial phase (hives) of pemphigoid gestationis can mimic PUPPP.

Prior to becoming pregnant, a few doctors mentioned to me that if my hives are autoimmune, I may experience a remission during my pregnancy. My hives are actually a little worse now that I am pregnant. I have to take Zyrtec1 tab po q 12-24 h as opposed to my previous regimen of 1 tab po q 24-48 h. My question is, is it okay to take Benadryl during pregnancy? I take a small dose every night in order to fight off hives (I get them every night that I don't take the Benadryl?) I've dealt with the hives for about two years now, and after numerous tests, changes in diet, soaps etc., Benadryl is the only thing that works. I'm definitely planning on speaking to my OB, but can't until pregnancy has been confirmed.

I had that too in my first pregnancy and I ended up being allergic to my pregnancy. I had it the rest of my pregnancy. It is very rare. I'm currently nine weeks into my second and hoping for the best. Good luck!!!

Does anyone know about having really bad hives during pregnancy? I'm 7 weeks 1d and for the past 3 days I've been having these horrible hives.... Someone told me I could be allergic to the baby and the hormones... Does anyone who anything about this ?

Has anyone dealt with hives during pregnancy? I'm literally covered in them. OB had no clue so I had to have an emergency appointment with a dermatologist, who advised me its a pregnancy-induced allergic reaction and probably won't go away until I deliver. I get that on my forearms, and.my inner upper arms. Sides of.my thighs sometimes as well. Been very dry this pregnancy. Lotion multiple times a day. Doesn't make it go away but less itchy and irritating. Known for woman to break out in hives during pregnancy. I'm assuming that's what it is. Its getting better as pregnancy continues. It kinda sounds like puppps, are they hives, or look like hives? Puppps is a medical condition of which pregnant woman break out in hives, it's extremely painful, itchy and yes, they can sting...especially if you scratch them!! I recommend a mild steroid cream such as hydrocortisone, it's very useful and helps in both the outbreaks and itching.

Bendryl is the only thing that really works on hives. Take it at night. It will calm down the hives and you will get a good night of sleep. The sleep will also really help.

My friend has those itchy bumps, not a problem through her pregnancy but in her due date (December 22) she will be induced if bub doesn't come early just to be safe. Definitely see a Dr about it.

Puppps is a pregnancy rash that one in 250 women get, typically in the third trimester, for basically no known reason. Like I said, the lotion doesn't help this. I use cocoa butter 3x a day.
