Avatar n tn I did some research and asked my Dermatologist and found out that it was Dyshidrotic Eczema. I use lotions to try and soften it, but no matter how many times i apply it, it never seems to have much of an affect. I've been told my my Dermatologist that i need to use fragrant free stuff and i use Gold Bond Lotion with aloe. It seems to be the only thing that helps somewhat. The doctor gave me a topical cream, Halobetasol Propionate.
Avatar m tn Hello. I have suffered from dyshidrotic eczema for over 6 years. It was on my hands and constantly itching forming blisters and it was just terrible. However I was prescribed a steroid cream and it works great. However it seems like I have patches of eczema on my elbows and one under my arm. They itch very bad, get inflammed and weep and scab over. Is this also dyshidrotic eczema? Or another type of eczema or possibly psoriasis?
Avatar n tn I doubt it is dyshidrotic eczema since the bumps are firm as normal skin but simply raised

Avatar m tn But if it is itchy then it can be due to pompholyx. Pompholyx is also called dyshidrotic eczema. It is characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles which itch and then peel off. As a result the skin may also fissure. To confirm the diagnosis I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Not the same type that you have and the doctors are still debating over what my skin problem is. But I have read a lot about eczema and their is no cure. But it does go away on it's own and is treatable. I would definitely start wearing gloves as washing your hands causes more problems. The doctor should have told you to use dove natural soap in cold water to wash your hands and to apply moisturizer frequently.
Avatar m tn The common possibilities are insect bites, impetigo, dyshidrotic eczema etc. In dyshidrotic eczema there are small red bums or blisters on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet. Consult a dermatologist. Treatment will be specific based on the cause. Keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Avatar n tn I think you are describing dyshidrotic eczema. This may be aggravated by frequent hand-washing and the use of chemicals, but it isn't caused by them. Most people who do your kind of work can quiet the rash easily enough by using topical creams. I don't recommend injections and pills, because it's a chronic condition, and internal treatments aren't safe for chronic use. You should see a skin doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Take care. Dr.
Avatar m tn Other possibility is of dyshidrotic eczema. Dyshidrotic eczema is characterized by a sudden onset of many deep-seated pruritic, clear vesicles which itch and then peel off. As a result the skin may also fissure. You should stop using any cosmetic, use mild soaps and lotions and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. If it itches then you can take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin.
Avatar n tn Hello, There are many causes of palm rash which include contact dermatitis, pompholyx or dyshidrotic eczema, hyperkeratotic eczema, lichen nitidus, hands, foot and mouth disease, nodular fibromatosis, tinea nigra palms, erythema multiforme and psoriasis etc. For confirmation of diagnosis, examination from a dermatologist and a biopsy skin are needed. Treatment is diagnosis specific and different for each.
Avatar n tn A common type of hand eczema, called dyshidrotic eczema which occurs only on palms, soles, and sides of fingers and toes. Tiny opaque bumps called vesicles, thickening, and cracks are accompanied by itching. This itching gets worse at night and in warm weather. The pus filled lesions could be due to staphylococcus aureus, which is responsible for most skin infections. Eczema, basically, is a form of dermatitis, or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin.
Avatar m tn The second possibility is of dyshidrotic eczema. The first stage is acute and presents as itchy blisters on the hands, fingers and toes. Then the chronic stage shows more peeling, cracking, or crusting. The third possibility is of contact dermatitis. I suggest you to get an examination done from a physician and get the diagnosis confirmed as treatment is diagnosis specific.
Avatar m tn That sounds similar to a type of eczema I have - it's called Dyshidrotic Eczema. And I have only met one doctor who could properly tell what it was. My father also has the same kind of eczema. I get small little blisters filled with a clear fluid on my fingers and sometimes my palms. They don't hurt or get red, just look strange. Just see a dermatologist and get some medicated cream.
Avatar n tn I meant to put a question mark after dyshidrotic eczema...I dont know if thats what it is...doctors have always just said eczema...never specified a type..

Avatar m tn Hi, This could be dyshidrotic eczema which presents as small blisters on the hands or feet. Fluid from the blisters is serum that accumulates between the irritated skin cells and not sweat as was previously thought. There are many treatments available for dyshidrosis, however, few of them have been developed specifically on the condition. Topical steroids, emollients, , salt soaks, avoidance of known triggers, nickel-free diets, stress management counseling and even light treatment.
Avatar n tn My regular doctor didnt know what they were but wasnt concerned since they didnt hurt or itch. I have no history of eczema or any other skin condition. I am allergic to many metals but dont wear rings or jewelry because of it so that shouldnt be the casue either. Please help! What is it???
1060719 tn?1254505235 Hello, From the symptoms it sounds like dyshidrotic eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g.
