Avatar n tn My brain is foggy, but that is how it was explained to me a long time ago by a very knowledgable R.N. Ocassionally there are side effects, and mixing the drugs does not hold well for figuring out the problem.

I feel it is beause the two meds are contraindicated. If this is true, how may I wean from the Duoneb? My family physician has diagnosed me as having COPD. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am not taking any oral steroids at this time. I use Duo Neb Inhalation 2 times per day and oxygen on 2 L continously. The Pulmonary Doctor keeps having me try to use Advair but I get thrush in my mouth anytime I'm on Advair or oral steroids. So I try to avoid them if at all possible. I am currently using Spiriva HandiHaler which I believe is not suppose to have any steroids but I keep getting Thrush in my mouth !

Avatar n tn Xopenex® Inhalation Solution (levalbuterol) is a short acting inhaled medicine, a rescue medicine, with fewer side effects than similar medicines used for the relief of acute asthma symptoms. It is not a medicine well-suited for long term, sustained asthma control. There are other classes of asthma medicines, called controller medicines and these do not have the same excitatory side effects.
7748835 tn?1393868668 I wanted to see if my doctor would think about duoneb? I got told it would be a big help if I did a few treatments a day. Also my heart rate goes up to 180 when I have an attack but my o2 levels are good. They dropped to 92 for once second once then back up to 98. My normal is 96-98. And is it common to have sleep apnea along with asthma because I wake up with a very painful sore throat? If anybody has an answer to my questions please help me ASAP!
Avatar n tn I have tried oral antihistamines, steam inhalation, and recently a Neti Pot with the provided salt solution, and nothing has even made a dent. Any feedback would be great. If I should get myself to a doctor, it would be at the VA because that is the only medical insurance I have. Thank you.
Avatar n tn i want to cut back on eating but having to take this med every day will not help me, please suggest s solution.
Avatar m tn Can anyone guide me about treatment for such sinus issues. Is any regular tablet or solution I can take avoid regular problem of sinus headache. Does inhaling steam or message with hot water will reduce my trouble? I do get some relief with hot plastic bag message.
Avatar m tn My question is, is there any general method to synthesis an inhalation solution, mine would be strictly vitamin and herbal based and targeted to help treat asthmatic sypmtoms, the solution would be used in a nebulizer, and would it be safe to use a vit/herb liquid solution to breath in?
Avatar n tn I stopped Advair because of serious choking that threatened my life. I have moderate COPD and am doing well on Duoneb (an nebulizing combination that contains albuterol) and an antihistamine. As for anything else I depend on natural supplements - vitamin B5, mullein extract, and MSM. I breathe more easily now than I have in two years. (Also Advair resulted in adrenal fatigue which I am now recovering from.
Avatar n tn And you need your physician to prescribe TWO solutions. Ipratropium Bromide inhalation solution .02 (0.5 mg/vial) and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solution (O.83%). There are severalissues. You will eventually acustum yourself to these solutions and they will stop working. You should have at least two weeks.Probably months, but at least two weeks before this happens. The Albuterol will make you "antsy" and nervous. If it gets too bad try the Ipratroprium alone.
Avatar f tn Common allergens are pollen, mold, dust, pet dander, synthetic fiber, cosmetics or drugs. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. It could also be mold allergy due to working in AC environment for long. Consult an allergy specialist. Meanwhile try deep breathing exercise and steam inhalation. Over the counter antihistamines, decongestants, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs all help.
Avatar n tn I was/am on antibiotics, nasal sprays, inhalers, steroids and other drugs to the point that I developed edema and acid reflux. I never smoked in my life and never liked how it smelled but now it affects me to the point of feeling like air was sucked out of my lungs, loosing my breath and feeling faint, just by someone passing by.
Avatar f tn I've been taking this medication since the beginning of my pregnancy for nausea. I can't function without it or I'll be throwing up constantly all day. Some days are better than others. I've been seeing articles and my husband said he saw the zofran bad drug commercial. It says it's been causes cleft lips and pallets, and some heart problems. I don't mean to scare anyone. I don't think my doctor would prescribe me anything that would hurt my baby.
Avatar n tn You would need to consult an ENT specialst for this. Meanwhile try deep breathing exercise and steam inhalation. Over the counter antihistamines, and decongestants and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs may all help. However please take with prescription. Steam inhalation, drinking hot fluids and soups, warm lemonade, gargling with warm saline water are all very helpful.
3926262 tn?1350439336 If you put them in your nose and they drain down the back of the nose and mouth (they eventually do this) and then take a deep inhalation, you could get them in your lungs and develop lipid pneumonia. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/petroleum-jelly/an00947 Saline solution or spray is safe or water based products are safe. The saline spray burned my nostrils so I did not use it. I sort of just had a very crispy inner nose. Eventually it subsided and my noe was not so dry.
Avatar m tn As of now the only prescribed medicines I use are nebulized Duoneb or albuterol and nebulized Mucomyst (for congestion). Additionally I take natural anti-inflammatories.
Avatar n tn She took singulair and flovent inhaler and walked 3 miles a day. Two years ago she needed to use Duoneb via nebulizer. She was not short of breath at any time but had a few bouts with chronic bronchitis. Since moving to Florida a year ago, her husband died in Dec of 2007 and she is now short of breath. Her pulmonologist in FL took her off all of lung medications and within 3 days she was wheezing like a maniac.
Avatar m tn ). As for medical drugs, for example antidepressants (mainly SSRI category) are known to have negative side effects on sexual desire/libido, but again I am not sure whether this is the right way. Some specialists prescribe also hormonal therapy, but I think that only in case of criminals or sex offenders, so it is probably not available. Another question is whether your problems are caused by high physical need of sex, or by psychological causes.
Avatar f tn Over the counter antihistamines, decongestants, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs all help. Steam inhalation, drinking hot fluids and soups, warm lemonade, gargling with warm saline water are all very helpful. However since you have had the symptoms for quite some time, it will be worthwhile to get a complete blood count, X-ray of chest and sinuses and complete checkup by your physician. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn i know well that surgery is not a good solution for this kind of problem. searching internet to find more, i found out the primary solution is using NSAIDs, but don't know how much and which one is the most effective. or is there any other drug to help preventing this pain better? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I was also given a three day regiment of azithromicin (zythromax) and Tussionex to control the cough. I was also given a DuoNeb. None of which seemed to work. After checking in with my primary care, i was given a flovent inhaler, to no avail. Following that, i was put on 80mg of prednisone, down to 60, then weaned off.
Avatar n tn I use Duoneb and Mucomyst in a nebulizer. Additionall I use natural antiinflammatories and an anti-histamine. I do not use any inhaled steroids as they caused bronchitis and sticky phlegm. They also caused adrenal fatigue and, after using that poison for eight years, I suffered a broken hip. Steroids cause osteoporosis, cataracts, and wreck your immune system. I am thinking of adding Spiriva inasmuch as Mucomyst has solved the mucus problem.
