Duloxetine therapeutic levels

Common Questions and Answers about Duloxetine therapeutic levels

cymbalta

Avatar f tn But it can take anywhere from one to four weeks, sometimes longer, for this med to reach therapeutic levels and for you to begin to notice some improvement. If it hasn't been this long, give it some more time, but I'd not let it go much over 6 weeks before getting back with my doctor. Finding the right antidepressant can be a real trial and error ordeal, but stick with it. While Xanax is an excellent medication for anxiety/panic states, you must be extremely careful with this drug.
Avatar m tn First thing to note, Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon if you miss a dose to be experiencing these problems if your on a high dose, my patients even at a dose of 30mg do experience brain zaps, nausea and vomiting even with just one day missed.
767237 tn?1332640177 I use to take lexapro and clonazepam for the last 6 years. Pdoc said I should've never been on the lexapro because it was making me rapid cyscle, Now I take 25 mg of Lamictal (can't go up because pdoc is saying that it's making me manic), 50 mg of Seroquel, 900mg of Lithium and 1 mg of clonazapam. I actually use to have to take 3 mg of clonaz but I think the seroquel is making me not need it as much.

Avatar n tn I would not have recommend you to go onto duloxetine, in some, duloxetine can cause kidney and liver problems, drinking alcohol while taking this drug will unfortunately increase that risk and even more so with someone with your condition.
Avatar f tn I just downloaded the chart suggested of all ADHD meds, helpful but not specific enough. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Duloxetine normally has the other effect of actually switching off the hunger levels in the body unlike sertaline so you should be fine

Avatar f tn The only thing I have found in the literature so far that I can try is combining Gabapentin with Duloxetine. I did take Duloxetine previously for pain (adjunct to the Celebrex) and it did help, but my GP is skeptical that Gabapentin would help even if combined with Duloxetine. Does anyone else have Osteoarthritis and is unable to take NSAIDS and have you found a medication that works? Thanks in advance for your replies.
Avatar f tn I think my anxiety attacks are pretty much under control since I take the duloxetine, and I really think with me taking Duloxetine and me completely stopping the vyvanse was why I didn't have a harder time coming off the medication.
Avatar f tn My 18 year old daughter was almost totally resistant to the repeated rounds of SoluMedrol (5 days each time), so in the last two months, she has been hospitalized twice for PLEX (also called TPE, or Therapeutic Plasma Exchange). Each time, a Shiley catheter was implanted in her right internal jugular vein (neck), and she received 7 every other day Plasma Exchange. The first round in October, she had spectacular recovery, but that only lasted for 2.5 weeks.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant blood disorder. I have a leg full of clots that won't break up and go away. They have been treated for 3 years with warfarin, lovenox and cumadin. All to no avail. My gp doctor doesn't seem to have the knack to getting the INR levels stable. I've been at levels of 6 and 6.5 many times leading to ER transfusions. Last week it was 1.1 I'm worried because the symptoms are so much worse lately.
Avatar n tn Hello there, I have some question for you before we can go futher into trying to find the problem. Are you taking the medication as recommended by your doctor? Are you taking the medication always at the same time of the day? Do you skip doses? But think it's not the dose the problem it's just that the medication didn't kicked in. It takes some time and you have to be patient. Lexapro is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI).
Avatar m tn t work for you after giving it a month to take effect try a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI) like Duloxetine (Cymbalta, Yentreve). It acts a bit differently than the common selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) like Zoloft you are taking. So if Zoloft really don't work i would realy sugest the Cymbalta. Some info on Cymbalta Duloxetine (Cymbalta, Yentreve) is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor manufactured and marketed by Eli Lilly.
20003388 tn?1515166040 I was recently switched from Paroxetine to Fluoxetine. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. When on Paroxetine and I was tired ALL the time. I was literally falling asleep at my desk. It was hard to stay awake. I do have obstructive sleep apnea however I use a CPAP every night. According to the readout on the machine I usually stay between 2 and 4 events an hour.
446049 tn?1649005835 Title: Duloxetine for treating painful neuropathy or chronic pain URL: http://www2.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab007115.
Avatar f tn There are medications that can help alleviate the burning/pain. One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
Avatar f tn It rarely drops below 200 whether I eat or fast. There doesnt seem to be any correlation between my levels and what I eat. My levels can increase 25 to 100 points after taking my medication (GLUCOVANCE) whether I eat or not. Earlier today I ate a meal which included a lot of carbs. I checked my blood sugar before and after. My blood sugar level dropped 50 points. I know that weaning off of cymbalta causes a myriad of side effects with brain zaps being the worst.
2067461 tn?1331216830 It means that zoloft absorption and its therapeutic levels in the blood will be achieved for kidney disease patients. It will act due to the adequate therapeutic levels. But since there is a problem with excretion, the dosage may need to be adjusted to lower levels. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I just ordered more Cymbalta from Canada who in turn orders it from India. I always get the generic duloxetine from them but this time I also got duvanta.
Avatar m tn was prescribed Duloxetine 500mg for depression. This seemed to have a good effect on my pains as a bonus. After about 6 to 8 months I decided to stop taking the Duloxetine as I felt happier but as I was weaning myself off, the pains returned with a vengeance. To this day, my doctor has no idea what might be causing all this so I just blunder on from day to day taking the tablets.
