962875 tn?1314210036 As many of you know or have experienced, the AIs ( Arimidex, Femara, Aromasin), which are used to treat hormone-receptor positve breast cancer, often produce joint or muscle pain as a side effect. For about 20% of women, the side effects are so severe that they stop taking their medicine, which increases the risk that their breast cancer will recur.
Avatar f tn Pregnancy Category C is given to medicines that show side effects to the fetus in animal studies, but no human studies in pregnant women have been done. A pregnancy Category C medicine may still be given to pregnant women if the healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the pregnant woman outweigh the possible risks to the unborn child. In animal studies, when rabbits were given Cymbalta during early pregnancy, the baby rabbits weighed less.
446049 tn?1649005835 My oncologist told me today that he's had several patients that had good results from using 60 mg/day of duloxetine to calm their chronic pain. He gave a link to the Cochrane Reviews and said that Cochrane was the benchmark for evidence based health care practice. While going through chemo, the oxaliplatin masked the pain (one of the only good side effects!) but now it's back and I'm wondering if anyone else has tried using this medication for relief from pain?
480448 tn?1426948538 Just wanted to get some input from those of you who have had experience with Cymbalta. I post this poll with the understanding that everyone is different....I just would like some info. Thanks all!

1580828 tn?1322128022 I seem to have exhausted all possiblitites at this time. I have been on cymbalta for 3 or 4 years now. However, have been on disability for a little over a year from dizziness (imbalance) and migraines. It has been confirmed I have constant silent migraines due to mild chairi and cervical disk compression and cervical degeneration. My question is if I miss one dose of the cymbalta within a day I have the brain bashing migraine and the severe dizziness as bad as when it first occurred.
Avatar n tn Can I take Cymbalta (duloxetine) without harm my single polysyctic kidney, my kidney functions arevery good. Many thanks for help..I am 51 years old my weight is 104 KG.
1323747 tn?1364806882 Side effects of metanx are drowsiness, feeling of swelling of entire body, numbness or tingling, severe allergic reactions like hives. cymbalta or duloxetine has effects like nausea, upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, jaundice. You may feel like you will pass out, hallucinations, tachycardia or tremors. Breathing problems, loss of coordination, difficult urination etc few effects can be attributed to these drugs. Consult a neurologist for the other symptoms like smell from skin and urine.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know if alpha blockers negate the positive effects of Duloxetine? It seems that if norepinephrine is blocked via the alpha blocker than it would cancel out the effect of the norepinephrine re-uptake and subsequent positive effects of an SNRI.
Avatar f tn My orthopedic specialist tried switching me to Lyrica for 3 months back in 2014 with horrible immediate side effects. Switched back to Gabapentin. I am asking if there is another neuropathic pain medication to use as an alternative to Gabapentin. I agree that the Gaba helps with nerve pain, however the side effects are scaring me. I plan on discussing this with my PM but want to know more before going in.
Avatar f tn The generic name for Cymbalta is Duloxetine Hydrochloride so Kitty may be getting Cymbalta but the same concern applies as listed above.
Avatar m tn I felt it was not that. Fortunately, I have not suffered major side effects from the Cymbalta which I know can be awful. Then recently on top of those feelings I started getting horrible pain in my wrists which I thought might be carpal tunnel or tendonitis...severe burning pain going up the tops of my arms. Then I thought well maybe it is related to my heart because of the palpatations and all of a sudden my blood pressure is high and doctor put me on metropropol.
1042487 tn?1275279899 I am a 58 YO male that has suffered with fibromyalgia for most of my life. Ever get tired of hearing "Its all in your head" or "Man up"??? The military could never figure it out, "Take 800 MG IB twice daily"... Well they finealy found it a few years ago. I have tried about every antidepressant out there. Some work for a few days, others for weeks. NONE in long term usage. Well the Doc's tried me on 300mgs of Gabapentene at night. OH NO.
Avatar m tn Doctors don't agree on this, so you have to form your own opinion. First, I hope you're using a psychiatrist, because general docs don't do this as often and aren't as familiar with the meds. I have seen different views on this by different psychiatrists. There are books on the subject. Most psychiatrists and virtually all general docs are pretty clueless about it.
324184 tn?1308076203 She has been on it for 6 days and she has had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 out of those 6 days. Has anyone experienced these types of side effects on Pristiq? I know everyone is different and we're hoping that her body will adjust to it and start working. I'm also wondering if she is sick due to abruptly stopping the Cymbalta (her dr. for whatever reason said she did not need to ween herself off) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn i was on cymbalta ever since it came out on the market which i think has been 6-7 years... my question is... when i was on cymbalta my blood pressure rose... about 5 weeks ago i got off of it cold turkey due to losing my health insurance and now i notice my blood pressure is low like 110/60 where as it used to be around 135/90.... is this normal and does thin mean i should cut back on the blood pressure medicine?
Avatar m tn I'm on Day 3 of Duloxetine and I've started having numbness/tingling in my arms, legs, hands and face. Is this normal and will it go away with time? I'm used to certain side effects from SSRI/SSNRI medications but never had this one before. It isn't super bad but it is kind of annoying. Any answers would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn ) Anyway, I have no side effects right now from not taking the pills for the past week, and even though I now have a new prescription I can fill, I'm thinking about not filling it. I would like to hear from others who have weaned off of Celexa, either by yourself or with the help of your doctor. Did you do it cold turkey or a little at a time?
