Overactive bladder is a medical condition which causes sudden and unstoppable need to urinate because of sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscle in the wall of the urinary bladder. It is also called urge incontinence.
Treatment is divided into behavioral retraining, pharmacological (medications), and surgical treatment.
As of maybe a week or two ago my bladder has been overreacting. I'm only 19, and I've never had this problem before. Is it going to just go away eventually? I frequently have the urge to urinate, even right after doing so. And when I do, it's in very small amounts. I don't wake up in the middle of the night, though, to use the bathroom.
So I have an overactive bladder that came from giving birth to my first 2 kids. It caused my bladder to lower and have pressure. and being pregnant my doctor said I couldn't take antibiotics. So I really going to h.eck trying to deal with an over active bladder which makes me urinate every half hour, plus the pregnancy that also makes me urinate even more. So I literally go to the restroom every 15 min. I'm so frustrated by it I wanna cry.

I just read your post about Atrial Fib and meds for overactive bladder. I have Atrial Fib, and my doctor wanted to prescribe Vesicare. I read up on this med, and found it could cause irregular heartbeats.
This makes me nervous. What medication are you currently taking for the bladder problem? Is it working for you, and does it cause a problem with the heart?
I would like to hear from you since I'm right in the middle of trying to find the right med.
HI, You sound like you have the classic symptoms of overactive bladder. Overactive bladder (OAB) is driven by the strong ugency to urinate. It commonly causes urinary frequency and many patients get up at night to void. About a thrid of overactive bladder patients can't make it to the toilet and leak urine on the way.
HI, It sounds like you had two problems that resulted in the bedwetting episode. First, it sounds like you have overactive bladder. Overactive bladder symptoms are urinary urgency, frequency and sometimes getting up at night to void. 5% of 25 yr olders have overactive bladder. You either have a structurally small bladder or its a functional problem where low volumes of urine in your bladder trigger the urge to void. Patients with overactive bladder "tend to urinate frequently".
I recently had what was diagnosed as a gall bladder attack. I had a scan of some sort done to "study" my gall bladder, and the result was that I actually have an "overactive" gall bladder. The attack lasted a full week although the intense pain lasted two days. For that week, I was rarely hungry and ate only fat free and cholesterol free foods. Since that week, I have felt totally fine and have been eating whatever I want.

The urine culture came back negative. He now thinks I have a vaginal irritation from the urine and overactive bladder and percribed ditropan. At night the burning seems worse but I am only up a couple of times. Also the burning is worse when sitting and lessens when standing. I also have pain in my left overy. He has completed an internal and vaginal swab. How can you tell the difference between overactive bladder and Interstitial Cystitis?

My prob started last December i had to keep urinating even when i had finished, i thought it was UTI so went to docs and all tests were clear, since then i have had swabs, ultrasounds all fine its really depressing the docs have given up and told me to take ibuprofen to reduce bladder inflamation? but i dont theink its my bladder.
I have no pain anywhere, around my urethra area is red and sore when i wipe with tissue which somehow stimulates it to want to urinate more?i have used vasaline.
What do they eat and drink before they are active ,it could also be an adrenalin surge ..soda can have a diuretic effect, so check that out first make sure they empty their bladder before they play.
First thing to note, Unfortunately smoking does affects the amount of duloxetine in your system and blood stream meaning that you will loose between 40 - 50% of the duloxetine dose you take. It is not uncommon for people to have their duloxetine prescription increased if they smoke.

I have been diagnosed with bacterial infection of bladder by one urologist and overactive bladder by another and third one says I have also developed yeast infection --vulvitis due to antibiotics I took to cure the UTI. So now that I am completely fed up with the antibiotics and urologists am trying to get to the bottom of this whole issue myself with the help of my third and probably last urologist.
