Avatar f tn I put on the moisturizer to my baby's belly but still after 3 months of use, he still has the dry skin. Is it really dry skin or does he have other skin disorder?
Avatar n tn Dear Sandra, RE: dry fingertips rash on palms Look for comment by JET I'm starting to sound like a Medrol salesman. When my son was a baby his pediatrician okayed the use of Medrol for him as long as it was kept away from his eyes. Good News! Usually eczema lessens as a person gets older. Bad News! Whereever you had it as a kid is the place it will break out as you get older.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the picture it looks like a ringworm but use Lotrimin only under your doctor’s guidance. Also ensure that you keep your son’s face dry as wet and humid skin can worsen the fungal infection. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn My a month and half old son has rounded dry and peeling patches on his chest, back, both legs and arms, upper thigh and behind the ears.they are not itchy. The pedeatrician says they do not resemble typical eczema, can some one help out with what they could be?I am worried sick.My mother and grandfather have atopic drmatitis and my hubby's mother psoriasis.
Avatar n tn No one is able to figure me out. I have been plagued by dry skin my entire life. It started to get worse two years ago. I also noticed at that time my face has gotten redder, especially when I get in a warm environment. Also, I have trouble perspiring. In the winter I run on my tread mill for a half hour and just get a red face and hot feeling. In summer I perspire very little. My heart just races and my face gets redder and I get a head ache.
1517754 tn?1290790562 Hello, At such a young age, eczema skin is one such possibility which needs to be ruled out. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Allergic reaction can occur to strong soaps, Solvents, chemicals, certain foods, food additives, plants, metals, cosmetics etc. To confirm the diagnosis I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn His hands are contantly clamy and now that Iu think about it, whenver I wash them off, I use a wipe and never really dry them? could the bumps just be from constant moisture? I'm freaking that it might be herpetic whitlow, however it looks nothing like the pics on the internet.
Avatar n tn Another option that you might consider is an anti fungal cream, because my 2 year old daughter had some dry red skin around her nose, and the doc told me to put this on her and it went away. Many people get this around the base of their nose in the crease. Just remember talk to the doc before trying it.
118074 tn?1228332603 My dd had cradle cap real bad. I rubbed Aquafor onto her scalp and left if overnight. The next day I washed her hair (3 or 4 times to get it all out) and used an infant washcloth to help rub it off but it worked like a charm when nothing else helped.
Avatar m tn Blisters form more easily on moist skin than on dry or soaked skin, and are more common in warm conditions. Sometimes, the skin can blister when it comes into contact with a cosmetic, detergent, solvent or other chemical; this is known as contact dermatitis. Blisters can also develop as a result of an allergic reaction to an insect bite or sting.' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blister Most blisters heal naturally and do not require medical attention.
Avatar n tn I mean I wake up a couple times a night from drinking all day but still I am as dry as can be. Since all my clothes look like they belong to somebody else now and I have to pin everything to make it smaller though...it's not ONLY water weight I suppose.
Avatar n tn I have a two month old son which has extremely dry skin and his scalp is also extremely dry. I use basis soap and eucerin which I apply on him at least three times a day and it still doesn't help him much I dont know what to do or apply one him, and that is what his pediatrician recommnded for me to use on him, but it hasnt helped much. He also suggested to put baby oil on his scalp but it hasn't helped either. What can I do?
1656104 tn?1302125214 Hello, These dry patches can be due to dry skin or nummular dermatitis. The other possibility of such rashes is of atopic dermatitis. Although steroids, are commonly used for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, there are certain other agents also which are used like immune modulator drugs e.g. tacrolimus. These are available in the form of ointments and tend to prevent the recurrence. You can discuss with your dermatologist regarding the right use.

Avatar f tn I have a red dry patch underneath the corner of my mouth, which apparentely some other people have too. A few months ago the same thing was happening in the corners of my mouth and that was because of an iron deficiency. I'm wondering if this new patch could be because of a lack of iron too? How do you guys cover it up because it's embarassing and when I put on makeup it flakes and it's still red. Or if anyone has a cure that'd be even better! Please help.
Avatar n tn It feels as if I dunked my fingertips in wax and then within hours they develop a sort of dry blister. There is no pain involved except for the new exposed skin being tender. It mostly involves the first two segments of my fingers and thumbs. It is really gross. I would be great if someone could suggest what I might use to get rid of it. Ordinary creams do not help (in fact I think they made it worse.
Avatar m tn I posted this info before, but it was a reply to someone else's similar post... I am a 23 year old healthy male. I recently had a full physical and the results were that I am in above average health. I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of.
Avatar n tn The rashes seem to appear only on the legs, buttock area and folds of the skin which almost appear to be dry skin spots. I have used Cetaphil, Oatmeal Soaps, etc. I have not saw any on the thigh or face. At first we thought that it was from dairy products but I am unsure. What could this be? This discussion is related to herpes symptoms.
Avatar m tn I had him allergy tested. The dry skin stopped when he hit puberty at age 11...then his skin was too oily. follow what the doctor told you.
Avatar n tn This problem only comes during the summer/autumn time, and goes away once its cold. His skin becomes dry, with little rocky bumps, white colored. There are patches of no hair all over his body and some green fungus type thing stuck on his skin. I am unable to see him as of now, but I just really want to bring him here. Can someone help me figure out what is wrong with him so I can get him cured so he can come here to me. Please help!
Avatar n tn It can get hot at night under all the blankets and my room is on the top floor where heat rises. I woke up one morning with red, puffy, dry eye lids and red, puffy dry skin right under my eyes. I had just started using a new eye cream from Clinique, which I promptly stopped using. Obviously, I wasn't stressed over X-mas break, so I thought it might be the eye cream or just the dry cold air from winter. --It starts to happen every 2 to 4 weeks all during the spring semester at school.
Avatar n tn dry skin. An irritating problem. Try a daub of some form if infant/child skin softener/moisturizer that's safe for ingestion. 4:Is the fur in the region brittle/breaks easily? If so, it could be a genetic disposition that's not uncommon. It's not easily treatable that I'm aware of, but #3 will help alleviate the dryness and itching. there are other things it could be, but an in person vet visit would be best to check him out if none of the above helps.
Avatar m tn it took me months to figure it out, because when you get bitten all you will see is a black speck or a tiny white dot(which just looks like severly dry skin...in your hair will just look like dandruff) after examination IS NOT DRY SKIN/DANDRUFF@ALL!!! It flys when it gets older but, smaller one's crawl all over! It will move and kindof flop up when touched(if you can grab it BEFORE it gets into a pore or hair follicle)...
Avatar n tn (completely) than get antibotics/cream for the skin its skin rash.
Avatar n tn It is a skin irritation caused by prolonged dampness and the interaction of urine and feces . Keep the skin dry. Change wet diapers as quickly as possible. Allow the baby´s skin to air dry as long as is practical. You can apply an ointment made of Zinc oxide paste to soothe the area of irritated skin.Powders such as cornstarch or talc should be used cautiously, as they can be inhaled by the infant and may cause lung injury. ref:http://www.drgreene.org/body.cfm?

Avatar m tn One cheek looked thinner, he developed very dry flaky, scabby skin on forehead and dry skin around mouth for weeks. This has subsided and he looks a lot better but his skin still seems different. The skin around his eyes off and on will look fine then looks dry and red or have dark circles with wrinkles sometimes. His skin tone/color is not as nice as it used to be. Seems a little more pale than he used to be and skin texture doesn't look as smooth as it used to when looking at it closely.
Avatar f tn Eczematous infants usually have dry sensitive skin.Non drying soaps should be used. Use of cetaphil to wet skin helps retain the moisture in the skin. Oral antihistamines may be used to relieve the symptoms of itching. Topical use of steroids may be considered in severe cases. Extremes of temperature or humidity may trigger increased itching. Avoiding the allergen or certain foods may help. Consult a dermatologist. Hope it helps. Take care and best luck!
