Avatar f tn I know more water would probally help. One of my heels is calloused, dry and it cracks. It is very sore. I have tried soaking, putting on moisturizer and cotton socks but not any better. I just wondered if anyoone had any ideas?
Avatar f tn diaper rash; canker sores; chapped lips; poor circulation; and skin conditions, including cancer, dry skin, dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles or age spots. It is also used to protect skin from sun damage and to promote more youthful looking skin. Emu oil is also applied to the skin to reduce pain and irritation from shingles, bedsores, hemorrhoids, diabetic nerve pain, insect bites, earaches, eye irritation, "growing pains," and frostbite.
Avatar f tn My husband 40 yrs old has deeply dry cracked skin on the heels of his feet. He has had it since as long as he can remember and the 20 yrs I have known him. It gets really bad in the winter time- although for the past 13 yrs we have been living in San Diego with mild winters and seasons don't really change here at all. Seems odd to me. These cracks in his heels are DEEP in the winter time- about 1/2 to 3/4 inch- and do cause pain but he has had it so long he has adapted to it.
Avatar f tn 22 weeks amd I have severe dry cracked feet. My big toe on both feet and heels r covered with dry skin Its disgusting!!!!!
11481751 tn?1421218017 I had a friend who had this. She had hers fixed at a salon.. but all they did was sand it down with a foot file until the cracks were gone and all the dried skin was sanded away. Thats pretty much it. And u can buy ur own foot file. But in order to keep it from coming back u have to keep your feet moisterized with lotion or something. What my friend did was she put lots of lotion on her feet and put socks on over it and left it over night. And she did this almost everynight.
Avatar n tn I am a 20 yr old female who does not exercise regularly and who does not drink enough water, so my skin is dry, especially on the heels of my feet. On the back of my left heel, a blister has formed, but I believe it is under the hardened dead layer of skin, and it is tough and hurts when pressure is put on it. It hurts so much I am immobilized when I accidentally hit my heel off of something or walk on something the wrong way.
Avatar n tn I have that problem and I soak my feet (in hot water) at night for about 15 minutes in just about whatever (I like scented bath salts) then I use a foot file (I have two different kinds and they are available all over) and apply a lot of lotion (just about any kind you prefer) while they are still damp and put on a pair of socks. If you can't sleep in socks at least wear them for a while so the lotion sinks in.
Avatar f tn I have very dry callouses on my heels that get so bad they crack and bleed. it kills me to walk sometimes. i have tried removing the callouses with razor and a ped egg, but that just seems to make my heels more sensitive. I walk alot dureing the day (miles) and every step seems to open up a new crack. I have tried aquaphilic and socks overnight, i have had pedicures, and i have worked on them myself with lotions and tools. is there a remedy for this condition? what could the cause be?
230202 tn?1370793579 its the Ribavirin (as far as I know) that causes the skin complaints - as you know ive had loads of skin problems on treatment - started getting dry skin and dermatitis around eyes and elbows - drinking lots of water and using emollients everyday thoroughly in shower helped - when that was 'under control' (not gone) I started getting even more itchy and no Anti-Histamine would stop it or reduce it (for me anyway) and ive scratched myself really bad and now covered in scabs...
Avatar n tn Hello, Cracked heels is basically due to dry skin or xerosis and may be aggravated by certain causes like prolonged standing, being overweight, open back of shoes or medical causes like diabetes, thyroid disease, psoriasis or eczema. Ask your mother to soak feet or hands in warm soapy water to soften cracks. Then rub with a pumice stone and apply some moisturizer. During the day, hydrate and protect feet with a protective and moisturizing cream.
Avatar f tn What are you putting on the cuts/tears? I use Vicks for the dry skin and it seems to help. I had that fungus on my feet when I lived in the tropics. The Dr. prescribed an anti-fungal and I put Vicks and socks on at night. It took a while, but it finally got better.
Avatar f tn This is for my mother. She has such severe dry deep cracked feet, that they swell to a degree she is often in a wheel chair for extended periods of time. The pain is unbearable for her. SHe has seen several dermatologists and an immunologist. Has been tested for Lupus and other auto immune disorders all were negative. The dr's give her creams that don't help for more than a few days then they flair up again worse than time before.
Avatar f tn i present my feet as moccassin type where I am dry at the heels and my skin turns red burning and only itchy at the dry skin (heels) but painful when starts. I am reading fungus is a scaly raised rash. I present no itching burning a little tingling & throbbing . no scaling ,no raised areas just round circles bunched together 1/4 in. circle size red ring/ sl red Basically can fungus spread that quickly in 24 hours from one site to another on affected body? I am reading 4-10 days.
Avatar f tn i would like to know how to treat chronic dry flaky fingernails and what is exactly the cause?. my heels are also doing the same thing. i take a multi vitamin and i use body butter.
Avatar n tn No blister or fluid filled. After two days it turns white and flakes. IT will crack sometimes like dry skin on the bottom of the feet or heels. However what concerns me is the redness and re-occurence. The doctors i have spoken to two from just answer one from STD clinic said eczema is most likely the case. Does anyone here have any light to shed or info they can share. Outside of getting tested?
Avatar f tn I noticed about two months ago that the balls of my feet and certain areas of my heels turn white when wet. When my feet are dry, these areas are barely noticeable. I can't figure out if it's athlete's foot (AKA I should NOT moisturize) or of it's dry skin (AKA I SHOULD moisturize.) Of course I should go to the doctor, but I'm traveling hectically for work right now. It never itches, ever.
Avatar n tn rough, scaly cracked and sore heels of feet, heels of palms and now finger tips. Also peeling fingernails and hair loss. Somethings amiss......what? Treatment? Ardys Johnson. 82 yr...Otherwise perfect health...
Avatar f tn I did use lamisal at for 2 weeks then per dermatologist took me off then 2 days later got burning back put me on cultavate lotion. I am being told scaling is always present. my feet are red only dry skin no scaling at heels do itch at heels.I PRESENT NO SCALING , NO RAISED AREAS, NO ERUPTIONS so dermatologist always say u dont have fungus. It is obvious to me if lamisal at worked it must be fungus but my dermatologist says there something in lamisal at that is taking the burning away.
Avatar f tn i thought a dermatologist would be able to point to a thing or two pretty quickly with symptoms like that! anyway - yes - hashimotos and thyroid things - dry skin is a hypothyroid symptom. just go to the THYROID FORUM and ask there - someone there hopefully can explain better than i can, about the complete batch of thyroid tests that you need to find a dr to run. you can have test results that show normal, but possibly because it's an incomplete set of tests.
Avatar n tn Hello ive been experiencing some very bad skin problems over the past few months which have really made work and my life in general very difficult and miserable.
Avatar n tn I remembered about the spilled drop of blood and now am worried as I was walking barefoot and have dry skin and a couple of cracks in my heels. My questions-is it possible to be exposed this way and while I understand that hiv is inactivated by the fluid drying up, would the disinfectant kept it alive because it was wet? Or would it have killed the virus and so it didn't matter if it were still wet?
Avatar f tn I have been having an outbreak of a rash on my buttocks coinciding with the third week of my monthly period for the past 2 months (these are the first 2 periods I have had after giving birth to my daughter). It begins as extremely dry skin which is itchy and burning, this then breaks out in lots of tiny little red barely raised that spread all over my buttocks. Some of these bumps become bigger red pimple like bumps and occasional rough red patches of skin (about 1cm).
Avatar f tn for about 5 months my heels have been very sensitive (on both feet) it feels like the skin is tearing. I have to elevate my feet at the ankles and not let my heels touch anything -- just be surrounded by air. I just came back from a week in Maui and I have had so much trouble with my feet --- they have blisters all over the bottom of the whole foot, between toes and everything. They are so so painful.
