Hello Ladies I'm currently 7weeks 3 days with my 3rd child. I know it's still a long way off but I can't help worrying about labor. With my previous I used birthing balls music and massage didn't help much, so I'm just curious what have some of the other mommy's found helpful?

If so then you just let everything proceed naturally, if hospital most likely they will give you drugs to help ease the pain. My labor with my daughter lasted 15 mins I also had my midwife who helped with pressure points to ease my pain. Try not to be nervous, you are almost there, cant explain what the pain feels like but the joy of holding your baby outweighs it all. Congrats on being a first time mom. Best wishes.

My sister is 24wks pregnant, i already have her 10yr old daughter i adopted due to drugs. Now at 24wks she smoked crack 1x. I'm worried that even though she won't do it again it will show up in something and she'll get a cps case where i'll adopt this child too. If she doesn't do any drugs from this point on and her system is clean should she be ok at delivery? It shouldn't b in babys system by delivery if she stays clean as she's only 24 wks now????

When I say natural labor I mean no drugs what so ever. For some reason lately I hear women say natural labor and they used epidural. I guess the definition was updated. ... Anyways. First time mom and I really really really want to have my little girl with no drugs. Deff a big NO to epidural. Yea I know some will say why go through the pain if you don't have to well we were designed to have babies so we should know how it feels.

I have known a couple babies that showed stress and the dr did nothing and the baby almost died! There should be more nurses on labor and delivery then there are, that would make a big difference for both mothers and babies and the final outcome of the birth. Also if they were trained in both medical and natural birthing.

So soon I'll be giving birth (48 days) left :D& i was wondering if I could drink tea to help me relax during labor . I have bad anxiety so I don't wanna feel all crazy & stuff In the moment just chilled out & focus on my breathing techniques to help cope with the pain. Some women drink water so is tea acceptable?

I'm planning on epidural, with my anxiety disorder I just know I can't do it on my own and I had an epidural 14 yrs ago with my first and it was great. You can still feel pressure and some cramping but not ripping pain. Depends on your labor and pain tolerance, I was in active labor for 14 hours so can't imagine doing that drug free and I'm allergic to pethadine.

Don't get the drugs you are so close only 3 more cm you might be past the point of return

I am terribly nervous about labor. My fiance is trying to push me to go for an epidural to numb the pain, but I have a huge phobia of needles. It's been only recently that I can go get blood drawn by myself without freaking out. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Hopefully this will help you hun good luck. i had choosen to get an epi. and they hit the wrong spot and it didnt work it made it worse unbearible and they had to give me a second one.

Has anyone received nitrous (laughing gas) during labor, how did you like it? I'm wanting to do that instead of an epidural.

My labor and delivery went very well i had been on labor since 6 am but didnt actually know untill 10 am to 11 am got to the hospital close to 12 p.m contractions was coming got me in checked me was dialated to 6-7 cm then thry broke my water at 7-8 cm and a little after that i started pushing had her at 5:38 pm healthy baby girl 7 lbs 10 oz 20 inches. Long.

Good information ! Thank you so much. I'm really opting for a natural birth. I've been trying to stay away from medicine for a while except for tylenol. Healthier for my body because I've had a lot of medicine throughout my short life span and I know the chemicals used to compound drugs from a pharmaceutical viewpoint. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ! Thank you again.

Every year i get called to the hospital and give speeches to mother that are pregnant and used drugs and alcohol. Its sad to see mother do it. But there is always help. And now im pregnant with my first and will be giving birth the same hospital were i was born..

I'm going to try natural childbirth, but it's my first, so I'm not sure yet what to expect as far as pain. I printed out a "birth plan" on the internet...it was SO fun, you just go through and select all the little boxes, and print the results! I'm going to show it to my doctor and have it with me at the hospital, because I know how vulnerable and distracted you are when you're in labor, and I don't want anything going on that I haven't approved.

The baby I KY gets the drugs from the iv if they are given too late.. I used them with my first delivery. With my 2nd I had an epidural but it made me so numb I couldn't feel anything so I felt useless. I think I'm going to try nitrous oxide first this time and see how it goes..

The cervidil was in for 12 hours i went from 1cm 50% to 2cm 80%. the cervidil is used to get things going before pitocin but can start labor, just like cytotec. I started regular contractions but not painful at all. I needed the pitocin after the removal to get things going as the contractions started to go away. with the pitocin it wasnt bad they start it really low and i was able to get regular painful contractions at a very low dose.

Yes I also had back labor. I felt all of my contractions all the way through labor & delivery in my back, they never spread around front! They thought baby was sunny side up but she was not, so I don't know the reason for my back labor. It was my first, and I was so caught off guard I didn't even realize the back pain was signifying contractions until it started happening in patterns of shortening frequency and increased intensity.

My water just broke. I'm here at Labor & Delivery. I guess my little boy wanted to come early.

-( im sorry. That really stinks. I only went to labor and delivery 2x with first pregnancy and birth times were good experiences. Haven't been this pregnancy. I'm at a new hospital this pregnancy though but ive been to the hospital cups times for other things and they are really on top on things and nice ect.Sry your having such a crummy experience.
