I am 25 male and been on lipitor 20mg for almost 2 months. No side effects.

No one told me about lipitor side effects. I literally felt like my body was freezing up. When I Googled it, they referenced ALS like symptoms. This really blew my mind. (spill the wine). They say it may take a month or longer to feel a little bit better. The blood work being ok is a big thing all of a sudden. I have a low grade side effect. I'm weaning off trazodone now, next neurontin, then nortripyline. Maybe. Better days ahead. Maybe...

m saying that in the case of statins, the effects have been proven to NOT be accumulative. Side effects almost always present in the first 90 days. I'm sure there are some situations where that is not the case.

I have since taken my self off lipitor and have been off it now for ten weeks. I am much better but still not totally back to normal. This is potentially and dangerous drug. Thank you for your input. I should say the clinic did give me the simvastatin first but then switched to Lipitor. They themselved said it was better. I've heard of Lipitor going generic in a few years - maybe that influenced their decision to switch patients now. I just can't understand how they can override the cardiologist without any chance of appeal. I will speak to him again and see if he thinks he should intervene.

There are other drugs and each and every one has basically the same side effects BUT not all are always experienced by every person ... also many even though a factor, are not experienced to the same degree. You might take this up with your Oncology Team in detail. You should remember though that this may be totally unrelated to Arimidex or any other aromatase inhibitor. Regards ....

I was on medication in and out as I develop side effects to the statin drugs. I was on Lipitor, then on Pravachol and lastly on Crestor. None of them had problems loweting the Choesterol levels, but muscle and joint pain even with Vit D and Co Q10 as prescribed my physician. However, I came off crestor yesterday as I started feeling Dizzy. I am normally a "healthy", active energetic person. Now my doc thinks we should try Zetia which is in a different family of drugs.

So I was on gabapentin for 2 and a half years. I have fibromyalgia and chronic pain from scoliosis. I'm already prescribed tramadol. When they put me on it, it helped me a lot. But I started getting a rash. But I had no clue it was from my drug. Looking back it's the ONLY thing it could be from. I've got spots all over the back of my arms and legs. Some are scars from the ones that where healing. But they wouldn't close!

I have never heard that I believe there are other side effects but I didnt hear that, however put it into google under Lipitor/side effects and see.

I am not familiar with Lipitor, but I did google it, side effects of taking it r muscle pain....fibro has a tender point test and is the result after ur dr has eliminated other conditions that share the same symptoms...see the health pages to the right of the screen...scroll down......ur best bet would be to see ur dr.

You may even call your pharmacy, they will be more qualified to answer. Remember, Lipitor is much stronger and usually will have more side effects and much depends on why you got off it in the first place.

ve been on niaspam and my dr. thinks I should change to lipitor because of the new drug studies on lipitor. I am a perfect weight, and i'm 63 with no incidents of heart attack but my arteries do show significant arterilosclerosis. I feel healthy and seem great so far! any advice appreciated.

You are making a worse case scenario here which is not different than most any drug on the market. I agree, side effects do happen, even the rare ones, but if you look at the overall incidence of risk as measured on several studies, the incidence rate for almost all side effects is the same between the statin control group and the placebo control group. was on lipitor for 5 months and switched two weeks ago to simvastatin in hopes of less side effects. just got some blood work done and the liver enzymes are elevated about one and a half times normal. does anyone know if its normal to see a spike in liver enzymes after switching statins or does this mean my body is rejecting the new statin?

Hey guys. I post in different communities here. I know that it's known that lipitor has the side-effect of muscle tiredness and aches. Has anyone else have to deal with this? Man it's off the hook. I almost am paralyzed fro, lipitor. This horrible and I would like to talk to someone who's been through it. This is a very under-rated affliction IMO. I've been tested and it doesn't look like I have the Rabdamolysis<sp? That spelling isn't even close.

Hi, if the blockage in the artery has resolved, then the goal has been accomplished. The symptoms you experience could be side effects of the medications, but please check to see if these are due to vitamin deficiencies. Take a balanced diet rich in plenty of fruits and vegetables. Regards.
