Avatar m tn My doctor has suddenly started asking for a urine test each month to prescribe my medicine. I have been taking this for years now and never been asked before. The medicine is xanax and is for the shakes i occasionally get with graves disease. Does anyone know if this is required by the state(Ohio) or federal govt? My bill for this test is $450 each this is monthly as doesn't make sense. Obviously this is more than the regular visit and my prescriptions.
Avatar f tn Ok checked everything out & ohio doesn't do drug testing on the infants unless warranted suspicion comes about :) think me & my baby will b just fine!!
Avatar f tn from what I see you are in ohio???? I am really struggling with a heroin addiction. I started out taking pain pills when my husband ran me over with my car. Then I got hooked. The pills started costing more than I could afford and my husband has been addicted to heroin for 8 years. He had me try that and it took a lot less and was way cheaper. I knew i would not be able to quit if he was in the home. He is now in prison and I would like to take methadone.

518598 tn?1215513006 I would check out the yellow pages main category: physicians and surgeons sub category: drug addiction. I live in a "suburb", however the doc's specializing in drug treatment and suboxone in the nearest city had advertisements in the yellow pages in my local telephone directory. You can also check the yellow pages on line for your area. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Addiction is categorzied by maladaptive behavior that is typically out of character for the person, including doing things that are harmful, without any regard for the consequences, in order to get the drug. Addiction includes mental cravings for the meds, where dependency is almost always just physical in nature. It's important for you to determine which category you would fit into, if indeed this is even a concern for you.
Avatar n tn It was given out like aspirin. It is very unfortunate that it became a schedule one drug, with the drug enforcement administration tracking down phjysicians who prescribe it. Valium does degrade situational awareness as well as intellectual acuity, and may interfere with driving safety, although that is more of a problem for the first time user. I have used it (prescribed by a physician) rarely, when under extreme stress, and then only for a day or two, and never became addicted.

317787 tn?1473358451 s really really scary that when you purchase a drug such as this off the street, or meth or cocaine or whatever, you never know what is in it or used to make it or whatever! It's even more terrible that people would lace it with stuff just because they are greedy, and not care about the human life. It's just disgusting to me! Not that you can't die from any type of prescription drug overdose, but the "street pharmacists" are just horrible. The youngest victim was 16...
Avatar f tn I had chest surgery about 30 years ago and thus began my downward spiral into drug addiction. I pretty much took whatever I could get prescribed (muscle spasms, back pain, shoulder pain, menstrual cramps, etc.) and learned how to work the system. My addiction escalated within the past six to eight years and I finally made the step to Suboxone to try and get clean. I've gone cold turkey many times, but was never successful for more than a month or so.
