Avatar m tn lying to my wife about a lot of little things throughout our 14 years of our marriage, I want to stop, I love her and our 2 kids, but we are on the brink divorce, the lying was a result of a porn addiction, what steps do i need to take to mend the relationship?
Avatar n tn Although he does not have a perscription he will use saboxin to ween himself off oxy following his bi-weekly relapse. I drug tested him the other day which tested positive for oxycotton. He claims that the test reads positive only because of his abuse of soboxin, not oxycotton. Is this even possible ? The drug test specifically tests for oxy and while saboxin has similiar ingredients is it enough to show positive for oxy if one relly had only used saboxin??
Avatar m tn Addiction is categorzied by maladaptive behavior that is typically out of character for the person, including doing things that are harmful, without any regard for the consequences, in order to get the drug. Addiction includes mental cravings for the meds, where dependency is almost always just physical in nature. It's important for you to determine which category you would fit into, if indeed this is even a concern for you.
Avatar n tn It was given out like aspirin. It is very unfortunate that it became a schedule one drug, with the drug enforcement administration tracking down phjysicians who prescribe it. Valium does degrade situational awareness as well as intellectual acuity, and may interfere with driving safety, although that is more of a problem for the first time user. I have used it (prescribed by a physician) rarely, when under extreme stress, and then only for a day or two, and never became addicted.
Avatar m tn Hi Bob...did/would you consider going into a detox or rehab center? They would medicate you so that the withdrawl symptoms aren't as bad as they would be coming off the Norco by yourself and you'd be in a controlled environment where you couldn't be tempted to take anything. I once had a 20 Percocet a day habit, but I was younger and although it was hell, the withdrawl was easier than it would be now. It took 3 days of detoxing for me to start feellilng better.
Avatar f tn t taken medication, but the other day I found an empty insulin syringe packet in his shorts when I was washing them, do you think that he has been lying to me and doctors, and that his psychosis is part of his drug problem. I am worried that he is taking all this medication and if he is taking drugs, what would that do to his body.

Avatar m tn Hi camissues, Welcome to the forum. This is really a forum for drug addiction. Although porn or sexual addictions are quite real and can have a real affect on one life. This is probably not the right forum to gain the best help. Try reposting on the forum for sexuality. On the top lest of the page, there is a link called "forums". Click on that and look under the S topics and I think you will find what you are looking for. All the best to you.
Avatar n tn Please don't feel that you are being mean. Sometimes it takes tough love to get him clean and in the meantime you are setting rules to protect yourself. About the Suboxone..you didn't mention how he got that? Is he buying it on the street? If so, then he is not using it correctly and may be doing the "weekend warrior" routine which some addicts do. They use their drug then the Sub, then their drug, then the Sub, and so on.
1000813 tn?1250689627 I am 29yrs old. I have been dealing with addiction to pain pills since i was in high school, I went for 6 years without anything, I started back using again in 06 and have been going strong until the past couple of weeks. I desperately want to get off these again, I am a "binge" user taking 15-20 10mg a day, or taking whatever I can find. My health has been affected by it along with my marriage, finances etc...
Avatar f tn He is not taking very much of it, and you have not said that he takes more and more. This IS an addictive drug. It must be taken only as a doctor says, or else addiction can happen. Your husband is obviously looking to releive some stress in his life. I think taking him to the doctor would be a good idea. He can say that he had some from an old pcript, and that he knows it works. Doc may very well prescribe it. Just be very sure he is only taking it as directed, never more, ever.
Avatar m tn Ive been taking 5/500 vics for about 5 years for severe back pain due to injury, which happened 15 years ago and has gotten worse by the day. some days none, some days maybe 5 or 6 or more. Ive been depressed my whole life, bad childhood, try to forget it completely. My last long term relationship sent me over the edge, due to my ex's drug addiction, lying, stealing, cheating, and going to any length to convince me otherwise, and i had to walk away, and it ended badly.
