1050179 tn?1253899186 Does anyone know where I can find articles that are concrete in using methadone for chronic pain? I'm on 110mg's of liquid methadone and have to go to the clinic twice a week because I have 5 take home days. But I don't want to have to go there anymore to get the medicine. - At first,I went there because I was taking percocet for my FM pain and kept having to take more and more to get the relief I needed.
Avatar m tn I thought I would make a journal about my recovery so everyone can see if they want to or not lol... This is just a way of expressing myself. Love peace and for the love of god stay clean... Journal by CK Monday August 13th- A day after going on a coke bing I decided to go to my first N/A meeting. At first I was a little sckepitcal about it. I had invisioned one of Emiem's videos where he gets behind a podemn and tells his life in music video.
399052 tn?1259621083 'Everybody' who tells you it isn't addicting is an idiot. You can tell them I said that. An addiction is an addiction-it doesn't matter what drug it is, it's gonna be hard to get off of (otherwise it wouldn't be an addiction now, would it!). They are all hard to beat. Just take it one day at a time. You are loved and cared for here. We are all in this together. Keep posting and know that we have your back.
Avatar f tn Ran into an article in the Journal for the American Academy of Family Practitioners published this month, telling doctors that Levothyroxine is the ONLY valid treatment for hypo and to trust the TSH. I called the Academy and was transferred to the editor of the Journal and advised him of the more current articles (that I published here) conducted and published in Europe and now published by the NIH.

1253197 tn?1331209110 I have posted in my journal today about my latest drug trial visits (but nothing very exciting..had a brain MRI scan today with gadolinium dye.
Avatar n tn I just finished signing up and writing my first journal entry,....but now it seems this site is geared more towards opiates? I suppose thats what I get for staying up most of the night shooting coke, then logging on here instead of getting some sleep- *sigh* Is there support here for my type of addiction?
7188197 tn?1399464311 This is Not to say that genetics alone is sufficient to put an addiction in place, but that the nature of addiction may well be influenced by genetics. Trauma: Trauma can also shape and foster addiction. Alcohol and Drugs are often used by individuals who have a history of trauma and post traumatic stress, such as War Vets. Shame: Another important concept in addiction is shame. Shame is a very powerful feeling that one has when one feels that they do not measure up.

569458 tn?1221392419 Tramadol is an awful, awful drug. I had to go on Subutex just to get off it. How many were you taking. Five days off is something to be proud of and the worst should be behind you. Although the mental stuff is hard to handle and you may want to go on an antidepresant to help with that. Keep up the good work!!
Avatar f tn My name is clayton, I'm 20 years young and have a great life started as of current day... I have a giant wall preventing me from living my life to the fullest. I am an addict to suboxone. Suboxone was made to help with withdrawls from my oxycontin addiction. Not only does suboxone act as a back up drug, it also is horribly addictive and the withdrawls are worse in my personal opinion. I really want to kick the drug and become drug free but can't seem to get through the first week.
472139 tn?1211332563 My heart goes out to all the people who have to struggle with mental illness and drug addiction throgh no fault of their own but because of their genetic profile.
Avatar m tn Addiction is categorzied by maladaptive behavior that is typically out of character for the person, including doing things that are harmful, without any regard for the consequences, in order to get the drug. Addiction includes mental cravings for the meds, where dependency is almost always just physical in nature. It's important for you to determine which category you would fit into, if indeed this is even a concern for you.
Avatar n tn It was given out like aspirin. It is very unfortunate that it became a schedule one drug, with the drug enforcement administration tracking down phjysicians who prescribe it. Valium does degrade situational awareness as well as intellectual acuity, and may interfere with driving safety, although that is more of a problem for the first time user. I have used it (prescribed by a physician) rarely, when under extreme stress, and then only for a day or two, and never became addicted.

Avatar f tn Hey...check out the tramadol/ultram recovery room part 40. It's in the journal section and you can usually see where someone has posted to it in "recent activity" to the right of this screen. They are very helpful.
