Avatar f tn t know signs or behaviors of this type of drug abuse. When I asked him he stated he used to be on them. He was skinnier and is gaining weight. I need some guidance, because I don't believe him.
Avatar n tn Our daughter was forced to have unsupervised custody last week where she informed us that he was vomiting all evening. I have researched symptoms of alcohol and Tylenol abuse and found possible signs of liver damage. For the concern of my daughter, we are extremely scared on what he is capable of when she see's him. We are hoping anyone who has experience on this could offer us advise.
Avatar m tn If my wife had given me free room and board, let me be as mean to her as I wanted, and there were no consequences to my drug abuse, I would be dead today. You can ask around here, I am not a bad person or of low moral character, I am an addict. When people say you are enabling your man, it means you are part of his problem. He may blame you, and he may be partially right, because he wouldn't be able to afford as many drugs or have good enough health to get as high as he does without you.
271872 tn?1238590391 Hi friends, My husband is a diabetic & suffers from the nerve pain that sometimes goes along with it. Well, in the last few weeks he's been having a world of trouble getting his prescription filled. He's a truck driver & we usually get it mail ordered to the house, but he ran out on the road before he got home. Well, that's happened before, & one of us will put in a call to the DR,& he'll drive his rig to a Wal-Mart & pick it up. No big deal.
Avatar n tn # HIGH ABUSE POTENTIAL Adderall carries a black box warning—the strongest warning issued by the FDA short of a drug recall—informing consumers about the serious risk of Adderall abuse. The warning details the significant risks posed when Adderall is taken for non-therapeutic use or is distributed to others.
Avatar f tn The dilated pupils are certainly a sign of narcotic drug abuse and is to be a concern to you. As her sister I would confront her about your concerns and offer to help her. Selling heroin is a path that many addicts get to when they can no longer afford the drug. I've done it and many others have and it only leads to bad things. Getting arrested for selling a drug like that would ruin her life and she prob. doesn't realize right now what shes doing.
Avatar n tn The cutoff concentration for this test is 2000 ng/ml, as recommended by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the U.S. National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). Prior to December 1, 1998 the cutoff level was 300 ng/ml but was raised in order to reduce the possibility of false positives from poppy seeds. The cutoff for GC-MS, which detects morphine or codeine, is 150 ng/ml.

Avatar f tn just wondering if anyone has come across any literature that proves that anxiety and/or panic attacks can be caused by previous drug use? if so, is it because certain drugs alter brain chemistry?
Avatar m tn Ditto, with one comment.... the perception is that it is easier to abuse, but in reality the difference is minimal. Most people who abuse Suboxone or Subutex don't inject it; they use it orally, where the two medications have identical effects and risk profiles. Subutex is, for some reason, significantly more expensive-- so many insurers balk at paying for it.
Avatar m tn Absolutely. Any medication in that class (benzodiazepine) needs tapered off gradually and carefully, under the supervision of a doctor. Any other way isn't safe or advisable. You also sound like you're questioning having an addiction?
Avatar f tn At the top of the forum index page there are two buttons - Warning signs of Depression and Symptoms of depression. The other one, warning signs, covers DSM symptoms and a few more related signs which may or may not be present, like anxiety, irritability and alcohol use.
