I'm 23 years old, 1/22/18 I tested positive for Chlamydia after experiencing UTI like symptoms and was prescribed 2 azithromycin 500 mg tablets from planned parenthood. Symptoms disappeared but then reappeared 3 months later and I returned and tested positive again and was pescribed doxycycline 100mg tabs once a day for 7 days. After treatment my symptoms continued to persist and I worried that I was still not cured.
She did some test and the UTI came back inconclusive but prescribed me doxycycline in case, but suggested I also the next morning be tested for a couple of other things, Chlamydia, Ureaplasma etc. Over the next few days the pain persisted and I ended up going to the hospital in which they diagnosed me as having a UTI, gave me a dose of painkillers and a general UTI antibiotic and told me to stop taking the doxycycline. After that the symptoms seem to clear up.
Went back another 2 weeks later to planned parenthood, she did a wet mount and said she saw white blood cells, so prescribed me doxycycline without running my urine since it could have been a false positive. Anyways, the doxycycline seemed to help the uti symptoms until it was finished, now I feel the same as before. Really confused??? Going back into the clinic Monday to get tested and probably prescribed something else. What could be causing this?
--- After Test 2, the local doctor acknowledge I have Syphilis NOT UTI and prescribed doxycycline for 2 weeks 2x a day (100mg each). I took doxycycline for 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks.
My stream/flow is fine, but the pressure is always there. The Dr. put me on Doxycycline now twice a day for 10 days. What could this be at this point?
I'm on day two of the Doxycycline and I'm miserable. Haven't had any sexual contact since initial incident.

I was recently diagnosed with NGU and was prescribed doxycycline 100mg bid for 7 days. My physician said to abstain from sex until all the medication was gone. That is exactly what I did. I ended up having sex 4 to 5 hours after I took my last dose of doxycycline on day 7. Did I put my partner at risk by having sex so soon after treatment? Also, I took 13 out of the 14 pills. (I choked one of the pills back up and spit it out). Would that have an impact on the meds efficacy?
After a week i came back and the swab test was negative, but the doctor prescribed me doxycycline again for a week just in case. The symptoms disappeared, however after 1 or 2 weeks they started coming back and now, a month after, the discharge is white again and the urination is uncomfortable. I'm starting to feel anxious about this issue and don't know what should i do. Should i just go get some more doxycycline? Or wait for the symptoms to go away?
About 4 months ago I had protected sex with a sex worker and the condom broke (big mistake). The next day i wake up and my foreskin is swollen like 5x its normal size all the way around(I start freaking out). This subsided next day but then 2-3 weeks later a burning sensation appears at the tip of my penis and has been constant now for 4 months. I have had 2 very mild dribbling discharges and a big one after completion of leprofloxcin.
The first was 4 months ago, i went to the urologist for a std test and it was negative for all std. He said it was just an uti and he gave me a doxycycline, it cured after 4 days. The second pain was the month after and i went to the doctor again but this time for a uti test, guess what the test i was negative for a uti. The doctor said i might having a std but im so tired to get tested. So she gave me the same antibiotic but i didnt took it. The pain was for 2 days only and it was gone.
I went back for a review with my other GP - GP A and she gave me Doxycycline for PID without running further checks. At that point, i forgot to ask for further confirmation checks nor did i manage to ask if my partner needs to be checked/treated as well.
I started taking Doxycycline on the 11th and am on my 7/20 tablets. Do you think i can still take a STI test just to confirm my condition and for a peace of mind?
2) Is doxycycline the usual treatment for STDs? and not treatment for UTI ? If my pain is reduced due to doxycycline does it mean I belong to STD problem?
3) can an STD show up positive on a UTI test (blood + urine)? I think the doctor only took the UTI test because I don't have a partner and don't have sex. it is possible that they focus on UTI. but the result is negative. no infection.
Hi, I went to urologist this morning bc I've been having burning sensation when urinating, frequent urination, and irritation/pain at the tip if my penis. I have diabetes but it's usually well managed. My urine test showed my glucose is 250 in the urine, but my sugar checks are usually in range 2 hours after I eat. Can this high glucose in urine cause these problems I'm having for the last 10 days? I've been on doxycycline for the last 6 days, but it's not helping at all.
Since i had antibiotics in my system already, the urine test for a UTI came back normal. So the doctor told me to quit taking the Septra, and she prescribed me Cipro. Well 4 days after that it still wasn't getting any better, so once i had gotten back into town i went to another urgent care clinic. Well as usual the urine test came back normal, so i told them to test me for any STD's. In the mean time the doctor told me to stop taking the Cipro and he prescribed me Doxycycline.
I was told to continue Omnicef for 6 more days and doxycycline for another 3 weeks and then they will see.

I had not had any type of sexual contact for 8 months. Then, the week before Christmas, I had anal sex with a guy I didn't know when the condom broke. I was the top and he said we should just continue -- he said "I'm clean..." I now say "I'm stupid..." I have not had sex with anyone since. I will not ever have unprotected sex again!
If I have Chlamydia or a UTI infection, or prostate for that matter, would the Doxy sucessfully block/treat it? I had a prescription for bactrim and my wife (MD) suggested that I start it as I indicated I felt like I was getting another prostate infection. (I had only taken one pill evening b4 tests at clinic). If I do not have an std, I am incredibly fortunate and lucky and do not intend to tell her. If I do have the UTI bit or Chlamydia, would her Doxy block it? Advice?
I assumed maybe it was a UTI again, but discovered at my 3 month std retest that I was still positive for chlamydia. Me and my partner were given a 7 day supply of doxycycline. I found absolutely no relief with the doxycycline, and returned to the doctor as soon as I had finished the course of antibiotics. In fact, the vaginal burning and urethral burning felt much worse than they had ever been. This time we were given azithromycin again, but in the form of two pills.

After a few weeks, I ended up back at the ER 8/25 from pain and learned that the epidiymitis was caused by an UTI that must've occured after surgery. The doctor prescribed me doxycycline again. Things seemed to normalize but after I decided to seek other counsel.
Chlamydia has never shown resistence to the macrolide antibiotics such as azithromycin nor the tetracylines such as doxycycline. Clindamycin has no effectiveness for treating Chlamydia. Cipro is iffy for both Chlamydia and Enterococcus infections. Ask your Doctor to be sure that the Enterococcus is not a resistent strain , as this is becoming more of a problem, especially here in the US. I hope you are well soon. Take care.
After 7 days of this exposure i feel UTI like symptoms and diagnosis done by a urologist and tell me that u have UTI. My urine culture was positive with E.coli. i took antibiotics Doxycycline, nitrofurantoin, fosfomycin, farobact, Mikacin . Symptoms go away after 40 days of antibiotic course. But after one month symtoms repeats.
After 3 months of this exposure i have pain in penis, burning senstation during urination & ejaculation, heavy yellow urine.i went to a urologist.
Yes. I'm taking Doxycycline now when he found out that the bacteria was resistant to Cipro. My question isn't whether I have a UTI or not (I trust my doctor). I'm asking if the whole thing with my ejaculation issues sound relevant. He sort of brushed them off when I told him the issue, so I'm asking here.
I got tested again somewhere else Friday, hoping it’s another negative but if so what’s wrong with me? I have a healthy pH and no uti and tested neg for all other stis. Also I had sex with a guy with a conform because I thought I was good, I gave him brief oral and he performed oral on me as well, and he rubbed the head of his penis on my genitals (tmi i’m sorry) but we used a condom during sex. What are his chances of getting chlamydia if I still have it?
I went back to the clinic again on 3/29 because of the bladder pain and this time I was prescribed one day of cefixime, metronidazole and 7 days of doxycycline 100mg for 7 days. During the doxycycline, all my symptoms seemed to go away. But before the course of doxycycline was even over, maybe day 4 or 5 of treatment, the bladder symptoms came back for a day. Then they were gone again the next day.
00 and second one at 9:00 pm. i do not know if it was right as I read in the post that i should have been taken in one go. It has been four days already since i am on Doxycycline again but i started getting pain in my left testicle and left side of my penis. I do not see any noticeable discharge but I still have burning while peeing and frequent urination. I am so scared and paranoid.
Please help me to answer my questions below,
1. shall i take Azythromycin 1 gm again? or it is too late?
