Hi I was treated over 6 years ago for Hep C ...Genotype 1. I have been undetectable ever since. The treatment was hell, but my liver functions are all back to normal and I feel great. Push through the treatment if your on it. It is worth it !

The literature does not mention increased flatulence for Inc., but Inc. causes so many other rectal side effects, it would not surprise me if flatulence was a side effect of Inc. I have cut my fat intake in half since I stopped Inc. a month ago but I still eat a lot of fat with my Riba pills. The flatulence disappeared very shortly, within a day or two, of stopping Incivek a month ago. I came to the conclusion it was the Inc.

According to the Pegasys medication Guide, Pegasys should be injected in the stomach or thigh (http://www.gene.com/gene/products/information/pegasys/pdf/pegasys_mg.pdf). Pegintron can be injected in the stomach, thigh, or back of the arm (according to the Pegintron medication guide). I've had both Pegasys and Pegintron. My experience is Pegintron is much harder on my skin so I was assuming you were on Pegintron .......

Great news on starting, begin in the morning with riba and the inc. and do your shot anytime that day.

Here is something you may want to look at,if you haven"t already in regards to the two Interferon's from two studies done in Italy. Keep in mind these were done before the intro of Inci and Vic and are results with just Riba added. As the article states there are some conflicting arguments as to what may be the better of the two,if either,however there are some differences pointed out here.

I was grade 1 fibrosis ten years ago and a recent biopsy shows the same result. I am type 1 genotype and a 61 year old male. Congrats on finishing on INC. I just finished two weeks ago and I originally was taking my INC & Riba together 8 hours apart. When I finished the INC, I moved the Riba to 12 hours apart for one week and discovered the stuff was keeping me up all night. So with the help of our warriors and a call to my NP, I got the ok to move the riba back to 8am and 4pm. So this week I will see how it works out. I am thinking so far this will be good, at least it was today.

But I wonder as I was a "partial responder" to Pegasys before (no virus @12 weeks, 212,000VL@24 week and no virus@48 weeks) I'm wondering if I might be better off this time with the Peg-intron. Guess I might flip a coin. BTW, I'm 70 miles south of Tampa in Arcadia. Guess I need to add that to my profile.

Hello everyone. I treated with pegasys and ribavirn back from november 08 til september 09, cleared a 6 million viral load in 4 weeks and the virus never returned.... Now, why I've decided to post here again all this time later is there is one thing that's ALWAYS had me wondering, and something I really need some kind of answers to for my own personal reasons. I'm fully aware of common depression is among people on treatment, but is it heard of for the opposite to happen?

I agree that the 0.5 ml preloaded syringes are easier to deal with and the smaller volume is also nicer.

That's similar to my husband's cost. I think his copay each month for triple with Inc. was about $85. Last year, in treatment #2, I think his copays for Neupogen and Procrit, when he needed them, were about $30 each for the month.
