Avatar n tn Our 4 year old Old English Sheepdog has been throwing up regularly for a few months. She always had a sensitive stomach and tended to throw up if she ate something other than her food or if she drank her water too fast but now she is throwing up yellow bile a couple times a week on an empty stomach. About a month ago she coughed up blood so we took her to the vet.

Avatar f tn My (now 1 year old) Shih Tzu still has digestive issues off & on. But today I'm wondering about something. My son was playing with her with one of her favorite squeaky toys and all of a sudden she stopped and threw up. There was no liquid it was kind of like mush. Anyway, the thing is she ate breakfast at 7 AM. So this happened 5 hours after eating. Why wasn't that food digested and long gone by then? She usually eats 7:00, 3:30, 9:30, roughly.
293157 tn?1285873439 Hi there, I have a 13 year old Pekeneese? for the past week, he has been throwing up, clear liquid. about 1/4 cup..I don't weigh it.. just from what it looks like.. everyday.. he is eating and moving around, but does go and hide under the end tables which is different. He seems more nervous then normal too. But he still will play when his dad comes home from work. So I see a change in him and he throws up more then he used too. I'm not sure what this could be?
Avatar f tn it was a friendly dog and wanted to play. the owner was there and let us play while the dog was still tied. i got scratched in the midst of play while the owner was already gone. i dont remember any bleeding but there was a bit of burning sensation when i washed it with soap. i was only there for an afternoon so i was not able to see the dog again. at that time, i was not concerned too much because it was just a scratch. so i did not see a doctor.
Avatar f tn Well, the United States has a very low incidence of Rabies in dogs. Usually, it is in bats and rats etc. But, even then the U.S. is low compared to other countries. So it is unlikely you will get Rabies. But, you can get a second opinion from another doctor and see if they recommend vaccination. Too bad you didn't get the dog owners information to follow up.
Avatar n tn My 8 month shih tzu has been throwing up bright yellow bile every other day. Sometimes he throws up in the middle of the night, but most of the time it is between 10 and 3 in the afternoon. We have recently switched his food from beneful (which his old owners had him on) to Innova Evo with chicken. I have read that this is caused by an empty stomach. He eats twice a day, and most times when he throws up he has food down, he just isnt eating it. But he seems to enjoy the food when he eats it.

1096512 tn?1384889778 Usually, puppies need to be re-vaccinated every two to four weeks for all the core diseases except rabies, until they are 16 weeks old. The rabies vaccination is usually given on a one-time basis, anytime after the age of 16 weeks.
Avatar n tn My little westie, approx. 10 years old has recently starting throwing up bile. I spoke to the vet and he feels it is allergies and she is due to come in for her first ever allergy shot. However the vet is out of town till Thur. and now she is not eating, but drinking what seems like quite a bit of water and then throwing it up. What can I do to make her more comfortale for now? I did give her 1/2 of Cimetidine (doggie Pepcid) just a few minutes ago.
Avatar m tn I had a dog in Canada that ate some rat poison in an office and within minutes was convallsing and shaking and throwing up. If it was not for my mothers fast thinking to take my dog to the vet and get some vitamin K into her she would have been dead. So where did this Coumarin come from can all of a sudden my dog been walking around for months with this in him. The answer is NO! Maybe it was the anesthesia?
1446539 tn?1284552849 Yes vaccination are up to the owner I agree with vivi, BUT that being said if you are not doing it because of money then that wrong BUT if you are not doing it because it is your strong personal belief that the are bad or will harm your dog that another story and then you have to live with that decision because dog disease are deadly and very prevalent in the US . I do not know how many times i have heard my dog health and something bad happen!!!!!!!

687665 tn?1227103240 She was acting like something was after or on her. Then thats when she stopped and started throwing up but this time it was more watery and clear but had the blood in with it.She stays in a room with 2 gates so she has not gotton to any chemicals or poisions. She is not around any other dogs. She is up to date on all her shots. She takes a monthly worm pill, Interceptor. I just gave her the Interceptor 11-14-08. Do you know what could be making her sick?
Avatar m tn As far as I know, they don't get over or survive rabies. It is extremely important that your dogs are currently vaccinated against it. Are your dogs all current with their rabies vaccination??? A bit is no fun under any circumstance....but neither is a kick. Sounds like you took care of the "mark" with washing it with soap and water...I'm not sure of the garlic. An antibiotic ointment might have been better. I would have the dogs checked out by the vet.
Avatar m tn Whe had a cat that had giarrdia, and he had diarrhea and kept throwing up foam and would not eat. As soon as he got off the meds he was fine, and tested negative .
Avatar f tn I am so sorry to read about your dog. You are very courageous to do that for your pet. It was so nice of you to rescue an adult dog. I know that you loved your dog & she had to love you too, for all that you did for her. I wish things were different for her & you. I read about so many people waiting so long to put thier pet at peace. It's a very personal matter..right , wrong or indifferent.
