got prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg to stop my bleeding of 2months. how long does it take to work? I been taking it for 3days and still heavy bleeding.

She is having me do some tests, but says that I more than likely have PCOS. She wants me to take Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) to get my periods regulated. I first wanted to know about side effects. Second I was reading that this particular drug is not recommended as it could cause some sort of pregnancy issue. Wasn't sure about if that was fact or myth. Any input is appreciated.

Ive been on medroxyprogesterone for a wk already to hopefully regulate my period but my breast are very sore. I havent felt this soreness since i was pregnant. It’s always been irreagular so my doctor prescribed MedroxyProgesterone. I have never had an issue with this medication. Till this month I took 20mg for 10days . July 4th-13. It’s been 13 days and nothing . I did call my doctor she said take a hpt, came back negative, I called and let her know so she said okay try again next week and than call me back with what the hpt says. My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month.

Hi, The nurse practioner at my doctor's diagnosed me as menopausal. Right before I got a diagnosis, my ob gyn gave me a 10 day course of progesterone and I had a period. When I sent the doctor's report to my ob gyn she asked if I had any hot flashes and I said no. She said there was nothing more they could do for me because my FSH, estrodial, LH were all high from that blood test that I had. I haven't had a period since that last one in September (from the progesterone).
