Does laser removal work

Common Questions and Answers about Does laser removal work

Avatar n tn I did laser hair removal about two weeks ago on my lip, toes, and underarm. I love it - I have not shaved my armpits during this time and only have a few thin hairs there. My lip is a little better but they said the lip is hard to treat and can require a few treatments. I used Hair Today Gone Tomorrow and they were pretty affordable. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn My husband had laser hair removal about two weeks ago to his beard. He developed folliculitis. The folliculitis is now cleared up and the hair on his beard is very patchy. The skin under the hair seems to be lighter than the skin that has no hair. Is this b/c the skin without hair is still healing and will blend in eventually or is it going to stay this way. Also, this was the first treatment. Will hair grow back in these spots that have no hair.
Avatar n tn even my hubbie, he has never said anything to me about it but when we are getting it on I have to be very carfeul not to let him touch my face.. Avatar n tn I have been receiving laser hair removal treatments around my aerolae. About an inch away from my aerola one of my breasts is a flat mole, about a centimeter big, with a lighter shade of brown surrounding a darker brown in the center of the mole. The mole has been there my entire life with no change in character. The laser techs told me they would just work around this mole to prevent burning it. During a treatment on 1/17/11, I was told the laser would be "turned up".
Avatar f tn My derm advised me to seek laser hair removal, but now I am worried that laser hair removal will just make matters worse, which I just cannot handle. He said that laser hair removal is superior to electrolysis, but stories like this tell otherwise. I read that IPL damages darker skin tones because it does not do a good job in differentiating melanin in hair follicles and melanin in skin, so it damages the surrounding skin. Did all of you ladies have IPL performed on your skin?
Avatar n tn these hairs are very faint, and I've never touched most of them before. Just in case the laser treatment doesn't fully work, will this cause these areas to become... gross? Meaning darker and thicker hair growing, bumps, and dryness. I do not want to make my hair situation worse! Thank you for your time and advice.
Avatar n tn yes i have shown it to many a dermatologists. But for getting laser done i have to go to another city as mine does not have such clinics. So can you confirm any laser which acts that way.
Avatar n tn Rockoff, I am an older primary care physician who has been exclusively practicing primary skin care for five years. I do laser hair removal, photofacial rejuvenation, Acne care, and a number of other primary skin care services. I have a good relationship with the areas Dermatologists and create many referrals for them. At present I am using the Clearlight from Lumenis to treat Acne. My experience with the light suggests it has been oversold and hyped by the company.
Avatar n tn I've read in this forum that lasers cannot be used for floater removal yet there are three doctors in the United States who claim otherwise. Has anyone had successful treatment with this method? How successful are victrectomies for floater removal?
587306 tn?1218529734 There is another place in the panhandle of Florda called Microspine that also does laser spine surgery. From their website you will learn that they have a much smaller staff and therefore there is a longer wait to get into their facility. They too offer a free consult based on your MRI report. Good luck.

Avatar m tn Laser acne scar removal is one treatment option for shallow scars from acne. It does not work as well on deep scars. In laser surgery for acne scars, a hand-held laser is used to burn off the scarred skin cells. Fresh new skin cells then replace the burned-off ones.
Avatar n tn I have tried using bio-oil for months and the product does not work at all! Will the scars fade and go back to flat in time? Is there any way I can reduce these?
Avatar f tn Though I think counseling can solve the problem alone. Scar removal doesn't always work and is expensive. plus it's a surgery, so there can be complications. I know it can be hard to overcome having a physical difference, "deformity" in a way, but it's totally possible. He can try peels to help lessen the look, but really it's about overcoming what happened, for his own well being. good luck.
Avatar f tn Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also. Please consult a good cosmetologist/dermatologist for that. Laser treatment causes post inflammatory hypopigmentation, hence it is advisable to discuss the pros and cons with your dermatologist before going in for this. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Some people get lucky and it goes away fast others have to wait a couple months. But it does work. I did tried freezing in my initial stages when i only had two very small warts and i didn’t find it did anythig honestly. Start treatment asap though. Because the general rule of warts is that they either go away, get better, or get worse. But they will go away regardless of if you get treatment or not. It’s a relatively unknown virus.
Avatar n tn Good Afternoon, I am a 40 year old mother of three and healthy until I had my gallbladder removed (laser) in Dec. 1999. I had some intense pain in my right abdomin and chest area that my doctors said was due to a diseased gallbladder. Although these pains were infrequent, I had the surgery to prevent any further problems. Since then I have had chronic abdominal cramping, burning and diarrhea always 15 to 30 minutes after I eat and many times first thing in the morning.
Avatar n tn You get 1 free appointment after surgery then he can bill for the removal and everything that he does during the extraction of the stent. I think this is a crime due to the fact he didn't even see me after the ct scan. he sent in a assistant i had never met before and she was not very knowledgeble about my case. I am very dissapointed and pissed off at the mishandling my doctor has done with me.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply My surgeon has been in practice for over 25 years and considered one of the best. Does it make a difference that he has not removed a Restor Lens before. He has removed other lenses though.
Avatar n tn Also used Oil of Wild Oregano, Tea Tree Oil and EmuAID Max Cream – all helped to clear the starter pimple boils, but they did not stop new ones appearing. I have since had 2 underarm laser hair removal sessions as shaving causes many starter pimple boils to appear the day after shaving.
1794638 tn?1345158661 I just posted the other day about having an ultra sound done on my gall bladder after other precaution tests and the results came back that I have gall stones and my GI suggests that I have the removal of my gall bladder done asap. Has anyone else had this procedure done during tx. I am on week 21 out of 24 post INC. All this came to me as a surprise over the last 3 weeks.
Avatar m tn The urologist told me I was not going to have any more kidney pain after stent removal. I went home and wanted to believe him, so after a couple of hours, the pain increased almost or perhaps more than before. the pain sometimes take a long time to subside and I can relax a bit, but as soon as I urinate, the pain comes back worse than last time before.
Avatar m tn i had a laser lithrotripsy surgery last thursday 4/22 and had the stent removed monday 4/26. after it was removed i had random back spasms and STILL pain when urinating, yesterday i began having unbarable pain about 2 minutes after urinating in my bladder area and it lasts up to 2 this normal...
Avatar n tn While I'm at it, I'll remove as many of the others as possible. How does it work? Will a dermatologist schedule time with me and use their laser or electric needle to remove as many as they can during that time? How many should I expect to have removed if I schedule, say, an hour? And how much will it cost? I know prices probably vary widely, but I have no idea whether to expect $50 or $500 or $5000. Can someone give me a ballpark estimate? (based on your own experience, perhaps?
Avatar n tn I am 41 with a strong family history of cancer. My mother had breast AND kidney cancer, and I recently lost my father to metastatic colorectal cancer. That being said, after having pain in the area of my left ovary, an ultasound found that I have "something" growing on my left ovary. A repeat ultrasound showed that it is growing, and I was giving the choice to leave it and "watch it" or have it removed. I did have a CA-125 blood test, which was "normal".
Avatar f tn I had endo on my ovaries (they were actually attached to one another by the endo tissue), on my colon and a few other places. Removal went well, and my fallopian tubes look great/did not have endo on them. My dr is strongly suggestion doing 1-2 rounds of Lupron and then trying to conceive. I am 30 years old and am currently using the pill to skip periods. I was wondering what everyone else has done since having surgery, especially those that have conceived afterwards.
Avatar f tn after looking up various other removal procedures (such as laser) and decided to pay them a visit. The Colorectal health centre accepted my insurance (HMO) otherwise banding would be $600 per visit...first my Dr asked what problem was and I told her. She used a instrument that is like the anal speculum to look inside my anal cavity and saw that I had 3 interior hemorrhoids. I had my banding that first visit. It was painless, a lil uncomfortable but quick.
