Avatar n tn What I dont understand is what is the difference between IST and pots?and with IST do you go and do things and live a normal life style? is what I have the worst its going to get and occasionally with some work on my part get better?? I have gone to all the IST web sites but all I find is people who are bed ridden who can even go to the bathroom without passing out....I dont pass out or anything like that my heart rate just goes up and my blood pressure drops a little bit.
Avatar n tn they only want to talk about the bad side of smoking, never the good it can do for some people. There is another type of UC that is very hard to diagnose. Instead of showing on the inside of the bowel wall, it hits you deep *inside* the lining of the bowel. They have to take deep biopsies to find it. I'm wondering if that is the type you have since they say it isn't UC, but acts like it. It's not as common as UC, so they normally don't check for it.
Avatar n tn I was told that I needed a transplant, b/my chances w/no insurance, income and blood type of O neg (universal donar) were just about nil. I decided I didn't want to die on a transplant waiting list, tethered to a hospital, not able to travel or smoke marijuanna, cooped up in crummy city apartment far from my home and dogs for potentially yrs, just in case that pager went off and someone had died. Ugg! The idea of my last few years living like that sucked!
676032 tn?1315677663 I couldn't imagine living this he// for much longer.. So now my dilema i, how do I convince my doc to do it... I can opt for it can't i??? It will be my decision in the end and not his??? I didn't say it to him yet so Im worried he will refuse!
8683847 tn?1410760916 What helps most is hitting the gym and staying totally away from anything that is inflammatory such as sugar, caffeine, dairy products etc. something that people with liver damage should be doing anyway. My doc might have only wanted me to do the 12 weeks because not many have been treated with this combo and if it failed to just have me retreated in October with the Sov/Led ribivarin treatment even if I can only tolerate the ribivarin for part of the treatment.
Avatar f tn This is a tough. I have told some people most of them long time friends that live out of town. Some people are so judgemental. I would just keep telling people you are anemic and the DR doesn't know what's causing it. There are many things that can cause anemia. I am new to this area, so I do not have many friends here. The people I told, drop me like a hot potato. We were not that close ,so F... them! It did hurt my feeling.
168348 tn?1379360675 QUESTION #1: From: ChitChat9 Parathyroid Disease ? Dr. Lupo, In women over 45 yrs old who have been diagnosed with a Vitamin D Defficiency, do you find that most have this defficiency due to "lack of sunshine" without an underlying reason (i.e, parathyroids not working right), or that many who are seen by an Endocrinologist are diagnosed with parathyroid issues causing this defficiency. I ask this ?
Avatar m tn "All of the research and documentation does NOT say this." Never said it did. And I don't give citations for statements that I haven't made. "HCV can and does cause issues in other systems of the body prior to F4. " I never said it didn't.

Avatar f tn i would try any other benzo except valium. with my asthma, ptsd, borderline d/o, and generalized anxiety due to the ptsd, i could not live without something. they had me on 5 drugs to replace the xanax. i could not afford them. i went back to my internist who put me back on my meds and i surrendered my license to practice nursing. i do not have the answers. just be careful. i would not wish this on anyone.
Avatar n tn I am proud of you son for your braveness and if God allowed you to have type one its only because he thought you strong enough to conquer this challenge!....May you live to be the longest person with type one without complication.. Diabetes is not about perfection but striving to do your best.....remember even when the floor gets dirty in form of hypers and hypos .....just get a broom ( insulin /food) and clean it up....NO MATTER HOW DIRTY THE FLOOR GETS YOU CAN ALWAYS SWEEP IT CLEAN.........
Avatar f tn that and how long this virus and its variants have been around...... I wonder just how many people had transfusions before the blood bank tested, were exposed...and went on to lead normal lives....(wishful thinking I know!) Maybe some of them lived to a ripe old age. There are still so many unanswered questions............
Avatar n tn Hello, Mary. Of course people with diabetes can get married. Having diabetes is not a reason to avoid marriage. People with diabetes these days are doing much better with diabetes management, and the rate of complications in people who are using these management principles are dropping drammatically. 20 years ago, this wasn't the case, so the patients that your dad sees fall into that group, where they didn't have the tools and the knowledge that we have today.
Avatar n tn i am sooooo scared how serious is this disease and what kind of life can you live with this type of disease. somthing so normal turned into somthing so unusual to someone like me. i just want some insight, some hope. the scary part is if i carry this gene or whatever i may have it as well as my son,2, may have it. is this a common disease? what is the treatment like? i saw somthing about drugs for this disease could cause anaphalaxis...
Avatar n tn I know, that whatever I do, I want to do it one time, and get over with. Rev, by extended tx do you mean maintanance, by extra peg after or with riba also?? I am trying to convince myself that 48 weeks will go fast, and even though I'm almost 27, my hair might grow back.Got excellent news yesterday though, my wife was excepted into nursing program, and starts in Aug. She will complete 14 months and be a RN. I am so happy for her.
Avatar f tn but what about the ones I have now? Can it help with the symptoms I'm having now or do I need to learn to live with these? -Is joint pain common in MS and if so, what do you do about it?  Nothing seems to touch the pain -Will the fatigue EVER go away? Has anyone tried Plaquenil? Once again, any advise would be helpful.  I've had so many tests and doctors over the past year, I confuse myself and am feeling like just giving up even trying to figure out myself.
Avatar f tn I have tried PT,medication, Steroid injection, and traction with no relief. I am unable to do anything without the increase in neck pain and headache. I am unsure if the numbness is caused by the neck etiology at C5-6, C6-7, and C7-T1 or by carpal tunnel syndrome as the doctor now believes. My biggest question is, Should I proceed with surgery if that is what the doctor prescribes.
Avatar m tn I am a thin guy who was diagnosed as Type II diabetic 6 years ago, and I've done ok, and am ok, BUT I have found it truly difficult to get info out of my docs as well as to find ANY information about thin/not overweight folks who have Type II on the Web, other than decades old actuary (insurance) tables that state that I should already be headed downward... but I'm not...

Avatar n tn After a whole lot of research on the net, I have run into several postings with people describing my condition almost down to the exact letter. However, many of these posts are on some obscure website with the postings being months or years old. The purpose of my post here is to *hopefully* unite those of us who suffer from this unexplained condition.
Avatar n tn I experienced how to reduce/remove the blood. 2 nights I inhale steam from boiling water with soda. I do it about 10 minutes. The next day I did not experienced blood in my saliva, just felt 2 times a taste of blood, but when I spitted out, the saliva was white. Today I saw a little blood (too bright) in my saliva, but just once. I heard that its better water + chestnuts and to inhale the steam from the water. I am going to try it tomorrow.

Avatar n tn But the bi-gawking is another issue and one I guess I will just have to live with. Maybe it DOES have something to do with the diaphragm. I was a singer when I was younger and used my diaphragm with breathing/singing and also whenever I would get the "normal" hiccups- they were ALWAYS very violent and loud and would not stop for a LONG time.
