do colon cleansing products work

I've heard about so many things you can do to "flush the fat" is there any magic something out there? I eat pretty healthily, It's just been so hard to lose, weingt. I need to lose about 20lbs. I usually don't have the energy to work aout consistently. Can anyone tell me, what can boost my metabolism, burn fat? I've tried some products but they had so much caffeine, I got horribly sick and was very jittery?

just a question, I was at GNC today and saw a product for colon or gastro cleansing. Has anyone used these, does it work and is it healty?

My hairdresser has been doing this type of dieting on a regulat basis. Although she says that the weight really hasn't melted off as she had hoped, she continues to do it because she feels so much better, more energized. Good luck!

If colon cleansing was beneficial, why wouldn’t our doctors order them?

So my question is, has anyone here embarked on any sort of cleansing diet and do you think it worked? Who here thinks cleansing diets are good for your health and who here thinks they are a load of hogwash? I have read a few medical evaluations about "liver flushes" saying that whatever was "passed" consisted of solidified ingredients that were used during the cleanse. Other evaluations say they were actual gallstones, so I am not sure what to believe.

I suggest you also post your question on the gastrointerology forum to get more responses. You are quite young to have colon cancer. Do you have a family history of the disease? What is your diet like? Do you exercise? Try to include information like that.

Drinking plenty of water, taking fiber pills and modification of diet may help. Milk products, wheat products, nuts, are typical culprits.

Has anyone tried the ACIA / COLON cleansing pills, drink whatever.... they say the fat just comes right off?!?! Comeon now... Does that really work, im trying to get opinons before i try it!!!

I think it depends on the type of enema. Using enemas frequently for constipation can cause your rectum to "forget" how to have a bowel movement naturally. Using enemas for "colon cleansing", I believe is not good, because your colon doesn't need any cleansing, it does this itself.

I am currently taking Zoloft for depression and anxiety and am preparing to do a detox colon cleanse. Is it safe to do a all natural herbal detox colon cleanse while on Zoloft as long as the Zoloft is taken a few hours apart from all other supplements?

If this is not something you have experienced (birth issue), I would still look into whether or not you should see a GI specialist. The colon cleansing is also a good idea, as the colon will have build up inside, and it is a healthy practice to cleanse.

A word about the colon cleansing. It is usually a good thing to do. But maybe not right now. When you are doing a cleansing, you are in the bathroom quite a bit and that is probably already going on? Also, any kind of detoxing like a metals detox or Candida detox usually makes you feel pretty sick while you are going through it. Because it brings up all the toxins in your body and tries to eliminate them. Either through the skin, itchy rashes or the bathroom thing.

Hi, I may have MS or Fibro or both but my mom has Fibro and Chemical sensitives and does this colon cleansing and swears by it. I am personally thinking no way for me but I am chicken for sure. She has done it on and off for years and I must say she is in much better shape then before and better then me. SO I guess if you have the right person and you can handle this I have seen it work.

Looks like the make shampoos with essential oils and dead sea salts, very trendy and aimed at consumers who use these product on themselves (which is not wrong, jsut great marketing); I find it interesting that they list only the "active ingredients" of mud, salt and different oils on the website, that makes it easier to proclaim that they are all natural, but none of the "active ingredients" have any cleansing activity, so those ingredients appear to be kept a secret.

I just read an article on spark people this morning that talked about detox, colon cleansers, etc. These things do no good and can actually be harmful - good article to check as it explains why you should not use these.
