If you are talking about just like dark spots from post acne those can take up to a year to go away, they just fade away. But the deep ones are permanent unless you see a dermatologist and ask what they recommend by lookijng at them. I know I would like to get it done myself but it can be sooo expensive! Look it up online under a google search and type in acne scars and there are actually different types and it will tell you what kind of treatment works for what type of scar you have.
i have acne and i managed to clear my face last week and there are just postinflammatory hyperpigmentation marks left where the acne was (reddish brown scars). i also have mild ice pick scarring and enlarged pores. i use acnecide 5% benzoyl peroxide gel every night for acne and yesterday night, i put on acnecide all over my fave and then put ambi fade cream with 2% hydroquione on top of it on my spots. i then put on aloe vera gel from holland and barretts as moisturiser.
You don't need to do anything, Jim. Red marks left over from acne can take several months to fade, but once the Accutane has stopped new ones from forming the spots always go away. Save your money. You should be very happy in the not-too-distant future.

t deep or anything they just make the skin look red like scars from mild acne. The splitting of the skin has pretty much healed up completely but the scars are still there. Theres an annoying blister on there too. My question is: is it possible to get any laster treatment or or pulsed light or dermabrasion or anything on my penis to help with the scarring? A pamphlet for Palomar pulsed light says it can be performed anywhere on the body except around the eyes.
I have a huge acne scar on my laugh line on my left cheek, The skin has been peeling off, but it still gets irritated easily and makes the scar look red. Will this prevent the scar from healing? Is this part of the healing process? It burns when I put any products on it and when I touch the area. sorry for bothering...i have one more question...I thought that the acne scars and this type of scars are very similar...that's why I wanted to do TCA peel... but now you say it isn't...so can you tell me something about this type of scarring...how deep damage is? cause...they seem pretty shallow to me...and all this time i was searching for something that helps with acne scarring (since they seem very similar to me) cause there is nothing about electrolysis scars...

Enough to say that I would not go out of the house without makeup. I am now 29 and my acne is worse than ever. I got off birth control over a year ago as I wanted to get my body ready to start trying to conceive. My face is constantly broken out, it's red, irritated, itchy and it hurts. I've tried countless products such a benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, beta hydroxy acids, clean and clear, tea tree oil and spectro gel, just to name a few.
A couple years ago, after a particularly rough incident on my penis, I noticed that the skin had broken in a small circlular area in the middle of the shaft, on top.
After it healed (FWIW I used neosporin) and I guess the scab fell off, a scar appeared in the form of a lighter skin tone where the circular break had occured.
The rest of my shaft is some-what dark, so this spot-scar stands out TO ME, and is inappropriately but frequently bothersome.
Now i thought scarring is indentions in the skin? Is it not and that acne redness will fade with time because according to my derm he said that my acne redness is scarring and that the redness wont go away and that theres nothing that can be done about it. He said that i'll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser. Is all of this accurate?

You should let a dermatologist see that. How long have you had the scars? Most scars fade over time, but check with your doctor to make sure it's just scars from injury and not anything else happening.
