It seems that Seattle does not have any support groups in the area? How do people cope when they find out they are positive for HSV 1 or 2? I was diagnosed over 3 years ago through a blood test IGg. I have pretty much isolated myself from going out, meeting anyone and I have no one to talk to at all. I got blood tested after going online and requesting the STD test through quest diagnostics laboratory. My results ccame back positive for both HSV 1 and 2.
I have shied away from going to support groups for various reasons but am beginning to think now maybe one would be helpful. Thoughts?
I feel like I am losing ground daily not only physically but also emotionally. I have applied for social security disability (something I said I would NEVER do) because my physician refuses to release me to go back to work. I just feel that I can no longer be the "strong" one.
Are there any support groups that meet for Chiari survivors, sufferers in Knoxville, TN. My daughter had decompression surgery a year and a half ago. Since then she has been suffering from headaches and mind seizures as well as fear, depression and anxiety. She has had to quit her job and we are probably going to have to file for disability for her. I think a support group would help her feel not so all alone.

In the past I have actually contacted all the local hospitals in my area and I live in a large metropolitan area asking if any of them offer support groups for eye conditions or would in intrested in hosting one on their campus. None offered any and only one would think about the possibility of having one. There are Community support groups for the Blind.
I didn't find a meeting that was suiting me yet but I know I'm gonna find one, I'm kinda stubborn. lol. I go to an addiction specialist and I'm finally in CBT therapy. The major part of my support is on here tho. I learned so much about addiction on here.....
Also if you google around for support groups in your region, they often keep a list of LLMD's. That's how I found mine here in PA.
Find someone to talk to for one, a support group for one, there are many churches that have support groups that help someone who is taking care of an elderly or ill parent, plus they have support groups for people who are going through divorce, seek out these groups, it will make it easier on you being about to talk to people in simular situations. I will pray for you and your family.
I think a therapist would be a wonderful idea for you. Someone neutral that you can really explore why this relationship holds you in bondage. Is that something you'd consider?? Sometimes when we are in an unhealthy relationship, we've developed unhealthy thought patterns that we have to undo. So, the help of a therapist could be a great thing for you.
My husband and I separated in July because I discovered his affair. He said he hasn't loved for a long time and doesn't regret what he's done . My first day in re-hab I was served divorce papers from my wife of twenty years and best friend. It has been nine months since we are divorced - i never wanted this - my kids are 19 and 17 and I love them dearly, but don't see them much. They say divorce is like a death in some ways and I feel like my life is over. She has moved on but I cant - in fact it seems that time hasn't helped at all. I signed everything over to her out of guilt and now all the ramifications have set in.
