I've got the divorce papers filled out, I just need him to agree to sign them, because I would like to file them as jointly because I heard it goes more smoothly than filing single. What would be the best most calm way to approach him to sign the papers as joint. I was thinking about having my parents and his sit down with us to have him sign them. To keep a calm environment. Since I'm afraid he'll lash out and refuse to sign the papers or tear them up.
You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc. but do yourself a favor and when they set child support immediately go to your child support office and have all checks go through state that way he and you is protected.
But anyways I filed for divorce and served him the papers but now it’s like I don’t know what to feel. Like I’m glad to be getting a divorce but now i don’t know what to feel about him. Do I love him as a friend or what? I don’t know. Anyway if someone went through something similar some advice would be great. Thank you.
Soo..I had this happen. Basically I couldn't stand my now exhusband while I was pregnant..but it was because of a huge number of things that were going on. What he said, what he did, how he acted, etc. I waited until we had our second child and still kept trying to make it work even though I couldn't stand him more times than not. It got to a point where I couldn't take it anymore and it was obvious that it was unhealthy so I left him.
She said she has the divorce papers and wants him to sign them without taking them to a translator first he told her that he would sign them but he doesnt speak or read english yet..and she wont give the papers to him now that im pregnant..we have been talking to my lawyer about filling and running it in the papers but the only days he has off the lawyers office is closed..i was told we could pull the papers up our selves and have them ran in the paper and filled..
Definitely talk to a lawyer but you can give the baby any name you want.

First...thank you ladies for all the feedback. Update: I did tell my lawyer that I'm pregnant and that it's not my soon to be ex husbands. My lawyer wrote up the settlement and cleverly noted that I'm pregnant ...not with his child and in a way that my ex won't know that I'm expecting. It's legal and my ex won't find out through the divorce papers or at all if I can help it. I did all that worrying for nothing and you all are great for the support!!!
But after ten days he informed that he is serious about the breakup and want me to sign the divorce papers. And very soon after the breakup he jumped in a new relationship and started to flirt with every girl. But the thing is he used to say we have to sign the divorce papers and fixed a day but on that day he wouldn't receive calls. This process was repeating. He took four months to sign the papers. A wk or so ago I posted that I'm in the process of getting a divorce and my current bf is my baby's father. My lawyer advised that he would have to put in my divorce papers that I'm pregnant but I didn't want my ex to find out or he won't be cooperative....to make this short, I asked if I should get another lawyers opinion and the majority response was yes so I did and my new lawyer didn't even ask if I was currently pregnant so I didn't say anything.
Just my opioion. What state do u live in? Can you get on medical asisstance. Also, I know this has got to be so hard to go through. Surround yourself with family and friends. And, fight for what is rightfully yours. I don't know your sitution but, I do know you have a lot of rights.
Not just him walking away with money and the health ins.... No judge would allow this to happen with your medical condition.
well in short, i am legally seperated and went through the divorce proceedings and am waiting on the divorce papers now. i am in the military so i cant ask for a test since it still shows that i am married (i could get in a lot of trouble.) i had a few sexual partners and all with condoms. the last girl we had sex for maybe a week and there were no problems, also with a condom. the pool finally opened on base and i decided to go. after a couple of days of swimming there was nothing there.

You told her you wanted to divorce? You went to see a lawyer, or had divorce papers presented to her? Until they day the legal process is complete (and I don't know where you live, so what the process is there or how long it takes) then you are not divorced, and you can stop that process at any time.

I recently learned that my wife has started drinking again after 10 years of sobriety. She is a high level professional and historically a high functioning alcoholic. There are several concerns I have. 1. When my wife drinks she seeks attention from men and gives signs that she is available. Self admits she is seeking validation from men. This has led to very bad and painful events. 2.
I moved in with friends and said that I was done. Luckily we decided to work things out and read some books together and found out how to work as a team so we didn't go through with it. But if you're in a position that you're ready to leave, find friends or find a women's shelter or family, just somewhere you go can go. And then find a public place for you to meet. And let him know you're done and he will be reviving divorce papers soon. Keep it as short as possible.
Leaving the state might help, you could still collect child support i would think under the circumstances. I'm glad that welfare is trying to get child support from him.You can get a cheap divorce by doing the papers yourself, it doesn't cost very much. You could save up 10 dollars a month do to it. It would do you good, plus it would be very helpful if you happen to meet a man worthy of you and your child.
The finances can be complex related to divorce and each situation is different. Each state has different laws too. Do you know the laws of your state? Is the house in both your names? I understand the fear you have of losing money on the house and having to find another home for yourself. It stinks. Getting a spouse out is a bit hard. Divorce should do it but you need someone to advise you. Document everything related to his drug use. Take pictures. Record things.
Are you getting help for BP, are you on meds? If you aren't, you have to put yourself in her shoes. Maybe once you get help things might change but , I'm guessing your not getting therapy, a person shouldn't stay if they don't feel safe, would you?
