I've got the divorce papers filled out, I just need him to agree to sign them, because I would like to file them as jointly because I heard it goes more smoothly than filing single. What would be the best most calm way to approach him to sign the papers as joint. I was thinking about having my parents and his sit down with us to have him sign them. To keep a calm environment. You may be able to file but not go to court until after baby is here. In divorce papers they will set up child support, visitation, medical support for baby etc. but do yourself a favor and when they set child support immediately go to your child support office and have all checks go through state that way he and you is protected.

First...thank you ladies for all the feedback. Update: I did tell my lawyer that I'm pregnant and that it's not my soon to be ex husbands. My lawyer wrote up the settlement and cleverly noted that I'm pregnant ...not with his child and in a way that my ex won't know that I'm expecting. It's legal and my ex won't find out through the divorce papers or at all if I can help it. I did all that worrying for nothing and you all are great for the support!!!

A wk or so ago I posted that I'm in the process of getting a divorce and my current bf is my baby's father. My lawyer advised that he would have to put in my divorce papers that I'm pregnant but I didn't want my ex to find out or he won't be cooperative....to make this short, I asked if I should get another lawyers opinion and the majority response was yes so I did and my new lawyer didn't even ask if I was currently pregnant so I didn't say anything.
