Avatar f tn Hello. This is the info I have on lemon juice to dissolve small kidney stones. Drinking four ounces of reconstituted lemon juice in two liters of water per day. Try that. 1 Tablespoon is an ounce, so 4 Tablespoons of lemon juice in water over the course of the day. I don't know what dose of Vitamin C you take but high doses should be avoided as they are associated with the most common type of kidney stone formation. The amount in your multi vitamin probably is not a high dose.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I went into the ER, l was having horrible pain on my right side right under my rib. They did a cat scan and xray and told me that I have tw kidney stones one in each kidney. I still have no pain on my right side and am wondering if I ever will or if it will just disappear? Secondly the pain on my left side got worse over night, it has moved down a little and wrapped around to my back. The pain is bearable and then out of nowhere unbearable and worse in my back.
Avatar f tn As you have had/still have calcium oxalate stones, your risk of getting more kidney stones is much increased. Avoid the foods mentioned and browse the web for more information on oxalate rich foods that you should avoid or eat less of. It is also very important to always stay well hydrated. Your urologist may have advised you to drink 2 litres of fluids (4 pints) during the day, more if you are doing exercises that make you sweat or perspiring in hot weather.
Avatar n tn I have had people say that drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice with water will help to dissolve kidney stones. I do drink lots of water and water with fresh lemon juice (freshly squeezed) and do notice that when I get kidney pain and start to drink the lemon water, I do notice more sediment in the urine. A kidney stone can be as small as a grain of sand. 20 years ago when my stone was surgically removed, I was told to avoid all dairy, but since then the information has changed.

Avatar n tn I honestly have no idea and I have never heard of using aloe vera for anything to do with kidney stones, certainly not anything to do with reducing the size of a kidney stone. If I may ask, how/where did you hear of this and how is aloe vera supposed to reduce the size of a kidney stone?
Avatar f tn Hi there, I've recently had a cystoscopy with laser destruction of some kidney stones to my left kidney. I wasn't warned about the severe pain that came to me after the operation. They gave me morphine to numb the pain whilst in hospital but nothing to come home with so it was very sore indeed in my left side and back also the pain when I urinated was quite severe aswell. The bleeding took 4 days to stop.

Avatar f tn I had x-rays showing I had a small kidney stone proximately 2 mm in my upper left kidney. I had some signs of blood in my urine now are four months down the road and every once in a while, I will still show blood in my urine and I don’t know if I’ve ever passed the stone. My question is if a stone is forming, but not moving can it cause blood in urine?
Avatar f tn Hello, sorry to hear your pain. I'm going thru the same thing. I've been having discomfort on my left lower back, it comes and goes. I had an CT Scan and nothing came out. The only thing is I have trace of blood on my urine. Today i went to an urgent care and still found trace of blood, but this time it was less then the other 3 visits. Also, i found debri or crystals in my urine which dissolved like sand.
Avatar f tn * Calcium stones. To help prevent calcium stones from forming, your doctor may prescribe a thiazide diuretic or a phosphate-containing preparation. * Uric acid stones. Your doctor may prescribe allopurinol (Zyloprim, Aloprim) to reduce uric acid levels in your blood and urine and a medicine to keep your urine alkaline. In some cases, allopurinol and an alkalinizing agent may dissolve the uric acid stones. * Struvite stones.

Avatar n tn I can only tell you what I've been told over the years I've dealt with kidney stones. Drink plenty of water daily and make sure that your urine stays clear in color when you urinate. When you think you're drinking enough water, then drink another 8 oz glass of it. Additionally, recently I've started taking Flomax (generic version) on a daily basis.
Avatar n tn Hey, sorry to hear your troubles. My brother-in-law was told the same thing and that he'd have to have surgery soon for gall stones. He went home that day and my sis put him on a cleanse. He drank all the apple juice he could stand (and then some) for 3 days along with other liquids, but mostly apple juice. On the third day in the afternoon he drank 1/4 cup of olive oil and 1/2 cup of lemon juice.

Avatar f tn i am used to the pain and can deal with it, what scares me is the kidney pain. normally i dont get kidney pain with the stones. i had to have only one stone removed surgically, it was stuck in the lining of my urethra, total pain on that episode before and after! Does anyone have any knowledge on preventing calcium oxalate stones that i havent tried already? i cant take diuretics because of a sulfa allergy, the potassium citrate does nothing, and i have slowed down on tea and cheese.
503291 tn?1229419521 I'm in a similar stage of things, myself (ultrasound results came back today -- "several" stones, but I've no clue of exact numbers nor size, and the gallbladder itself apparently is a wee bit tattered from the passage of earlier stones, but nothing terribly horrid; my GP is hooking me up with a specialist in the next few days/weeks for the next step) and as far as I can tell, there's four primary methods.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with kidney stones almost 3 years ago but I did not get them removed as my Dr told me they could not kill me or cause any life threatening diseases, but recentley I have noticed a little bit of stomach discomfort, I would like to say pain but it doesnt hurt , it kind of feels like something is there like gas, and my stomach gurgles a little bit and once in a while I will feel a little bit of a slight pinching pain in different spots over my belly , it feels like its through the b
