I hope Ryan is reading this.Anyone feel free to answer.I had some high blood pressure before I started the Klonopin.I have been taking Klonoping for 1 yr,2mg a day.Mainly for panic,and anxiety.I am a 43 yr old female,and seem to have inherited the high blood pressure.I thought the Klonopin would help with the blood pressure,but it doesen't seem to.I would like to know the best blood pressure med,without the side effects.Like weight gain.Maybe something that has a diuretic as well.
metoprolol 100mg. With this my blood pressure averaged 130-140 over 80-90. Now all of a sudden my blood pressure was down to 85-90/50 with a pulse of 50'ish, i was dizzy and felt weak. I dropped my diovan to 160 and dilitiazem to 120, but my pressure is still running about 95/55 w/a 60 pulse. I feel my blood pulsing? thru my body, and am sweaty. Whats up???
I can walk a mile but have to rest as I still desaturate on 6L O2. Recently started Symbicort inhaler and systemic blood pressure went up 180/108 and was wondering if the med would be likely to raise pulmonary pressure as well. Doctor added HCT to already prescribed Diovan which seems to be working but am on low dose of Symbicort and may have to increase it.
my dad had a triple bypass last apr 21. last saturday, jul 4/2009 he started on diovan 160/12.5 (from corvesy+) and since Sat he's been experiencing chest pains that is not going away. is this a side effect? is he allergic to the this new med he's taking or is this angina? should he get himself to an ER?
Thanks, birdie0907, for your input. The "2 day plan" was my invention. I guess I just thought that since I had been on Celexa for such a brief period of time, I would not need a long tapering off. What do I know!!! I hope within a few days, my symptoms will be completely gone. I know that yesterday the dizziness was not as prevalent as it had been.
I also am plagued with severe anxiety, and when my pressure was up my anxiety kicked in that only INCREASED my blood pressure..I began to take a very small amount of xanax before bedtime and that seemed to take the edge off of the elevated morning pressures. Then the miracle happened. Since the beta blocker only decreased my HR, and did not take care of my elevated B/P, I was given another B/P med to try.
Change your doctor and ask for a diuretic, they are about the safest to reduce blood pressure, it will make you pee a lot but it will reduce the pressure almost immediately. Finally if you are taking Osteo-bi-flex or any other over the counter joint medicine stop immediately - read all the new warnings on the back. I stopped seeing my doctor, all she did was frighten me to death. I bought a B.P machine and kept a chart taking my B.P.

When my systolic blood pressure goes to over 200, should I go to the hospital. I take 40 mg. of Lisinopril twice per day; Diovan 320mg - twice per day and Clonidine HCL 0.2 mg at bedtime. My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher.

I just started on HBP medication. I was about 156/92 about 1 week ago. Today I am at 110/69. I am losing weight and eating better than I did 3 months ago. 3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs.
Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year.

Also, your dizziness is most likely due to the lack of a cool down period. When you stop exercising suddenly, it will cause your blood pressure to drop, like when you get up too quickly. You need to gradually lower the demand on your heart by doing some kind of cool down exercise like walking or light stretching. Try it, your dizziness will most likely go away.
