diovan and kidney

My Nephrologist wants me to take the Clonidine in the mornings also, but I cannot function - I am too dizzy and weak. I have had a stent placed in the artery leading to my left kidney and my pressure has gotten higher. I was on Bisoprolol 5 mg, but my doctor stopped that because he said my heart rate was too low (it ranged from 44 to 57) My heart rate has increased since coming off the Bisoprolol. It is running from 62 up to 83. He also took me off HCTZ 25mg.

Also kidney problems like renal tubular acidosis and kidney failure, magnesium deficiency, leukemia, alkalosis (?), and the use of steroids and insulin. Does any of these apply to your situation. I found this on web MD.

Currently maxed out on Diovan and Toprol. Experiencing from 170/79 to 192/90 readings in mornings. My PCP has added Imdur: 2/ 30mg @ night with 320 mg Diovan; and 1/ 30mg Imdur with 200mg Toprol in the morning. I have a 45 year history of valvular heart desease having had 4 open heart surgeries starting at age 28. Resulting in 2 mechanical valves and a pacemaker. Believe me, I am not complaining and feel pretty good.

My doctor put me on 160mg Diovan, and the pressure has decreased, but not to my normal levels. I do not smoke (last 5 years) or drink, and exercise regularly (weights). I am not overweight, I am 49 yrs old. I do have atherosclerosis (PAD). My doctor ordered a blood work up and a regular ultrasound of my kidneys, but nothing was found. I did some research, and Renal artery stenosis seemed likely to pertain to my situation (with PAD hitory).

I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?

i am on diovan 360mg twice a day, betaxolo 10mg and hctz 25 mg. and i cannot loose weight, I have gained 20 lobs after taking the hctz for a year or more. Not matter how little I eat or how much i exercise I gain. I have tried stopping the hctz and then my bp shoot up. Help!!!

s on lipitor 80mg once daily, metoprolol 25mg (2x daily), diovan, and aspirin 81mg. any comment on this prescription mix? thanks so much for your advice.

3 months ago I was at 230lbs, and I would always get these pains in my chest and my heart would beat fast. Current weight 207lbs. Cardiologist said I have too many extra beats and put me on Atenolol on Tuesday. But he doesn't know about my history of HBP from my family doctor. My BP had always been high since last year. Untill now my Family doctor put me on Diovan 80mg plus Cardiologist put me on Atenolol 50mg. Can High Blood pressure cause PVC's?

and I was put on a beta blocker from that point on.. as to stop the palps and control the b.p. / the Toprol xl and diovan both lowered b.p well and stopped the palps for me.. but iv been living life in pain and suffering for 6years now.. as the side effects from toprol and diovan are very harsh for me! I cant understand why a Doctor would go backwords and put me back on a medication that caused me problems before? seems strange to me !

m taking 80 mg of Diovan (Valsartan). My kidney doctor prescribed this knowing of my liver issues and he did do some research to determine a medication that was 'easier' on the liver.

My dentist found elevated bp at a routine appointment, which I thought was strange, since I had a complete cardiological workup in January (echocardiogram, holter monitor, 24 hr monitor, ekg, stress/echo test, blood work, carotid doppler) and a ct scan and u/s of the abdomen and pelvis. The only thing showing up on the ct was diverticulosis which i've had for years. I have also had gallstones since 1995 when I was pregnant, and they really never bothered me.

I had taken Toprolol when much younger and in normal sinus rhythm (then it too was 50mg SR) and it had no side effects that I can recall, I was still running for exercise. You might want to discuss using a calcium channel blocker to lower blood pressure. In all my comments are made with no knowledge of "diovan" and its side-effects. Good luck in finding a way to keep the BP normal, that is an important issue.

If your blood sugar gets down around 70 you can get shaky and not feel well and perspire, then its time for a glass of juice with a bit of sugar in it. You need to eat small meals more frequent. Watch those carbohydrates. Good luck and keep walking. Better for you to control IT than IT to control you.

I am taking Amlodipine (Norvasc) 5mg and occasionally my legs and ankles (on both legs and never the leg itself) will swell to the point that my shoes will no longer fit, but the the swelling will go down for a while (a week, two weeks perhaps) until it happens again.

I have a fasting blood glucose level of 101 and 102 for several years now and have been taking diovan hct and excedrin. I know these drugs have the ability to raise blood sugar readings. Should I be concerned about these readings? If I get off these drugs will my levels return to normal?

Part 1: I am a 54 year old male. I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.

I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.

I was slowly weened off Toprol xl and Diovan - about 8 months ago - and put on ccb -verapamil and dieretic maxzide iv been on them for about 4 months - and have been having problems, such as ankles swelling. and closeing throat when eatting! as well bloating belly conditions. over the past month iv noticed my face is always red in color. and my left eye has been twitching off and on.. I seem to dehydrate rapid and cant hydrate fast enough - even when I cutt down on the dieretic med.

I am 73 and take Warfarin for atrial fibrillation. I also had a hip fracture nine months ago. I also take a blood pressure medication, Diovan, and Metopropolol 25 mg. Would any of these drugs cause the elevation in liver enzymes?
