Iam male and I have been experienceing sexual Dysfunction for quite sometime now. I take valproic acid and dilantin to control my epilepsy. My sexual desire remains but my ability to act on it is nil. My wife deserves better than Iam currently able to give her. I was wondering if there is something that I could do or take that would remedy this situation. I have tried many enhancers but to no avail. I would welcome any suggestions or advice. Thankyou.

m also taking Valproic Acid (2500 mg/ day), Lamictal (300 mg/ day) and Dilantin (500 mg/day) for seizures. All my other blood tests are in range. Can anyone tell me if this is a dangerously high level, i.e., liver or kidney damaging?

My question regards folic acid. I have done some research and found that dilantin can lower folic acid levels, but I have also read that folic acid can interfere with dilantin, lowering the blood level, and setting one up for a possible breakthrough seizure. she was also on keppra for about a month but it was useless. now as of today. she takes dilantin, valproic acid capsuls, vimpat, and dilantin. it seems to be working ok, the seizures have slowed down somewhat but she has also been diagnosed with stress related seizures as well as the gran mahl seizures. the vimpat since she has been taking it with the other two has slowed them down although she still has one when she gets severly stressed or over excited.

I used valproic acid 5 years.I stop taking the drug and no seizures for 8 years. After I had the first time seizure and ı went a doctor, he did not give me drug. After 2 years I had seizure again and I started using lamictal 75 mg. I'm using 2.5 years. For a year, I have amenorrhea and eye floaters. I got about 30 kilos. It was very difficult to get used to the drug. Re-live the same things I'm afraid to go to the doctor. What should I do, I need help. These side effects are serious?

I haven't been on Prozac for years. It was really bad for me. I take valproic acid & (I think) Celexa, not to mention a bunch of other meds for allergies. Nearly all of them warn "drowsiness may occur." Ugh. I'm not going off of any of the drugs until the Dr's tell me to.

Now he is on valproic acid and doing much better. I have heard others say the same but about valproic acid, so I assume that the reaction that they have to meds is a personal one...each child is different!! Make sure that this child is seeing a neurologist or epileptologist....Keep a jouranl of all modd, behavior, physical and social issues and bring these up to the dr. This will help them determine when a med needs to be changed.

I have a TSH of 0.24 and T4 of 1.04. I have been on Dilantin for 30 years. I have been on Thyroid replacement therapy for 18 years with monthly injection of B12. I have had extreme fatigue and chest pains. Seeing neurologist for medicine change and have be referred to endocrinologist. How concerned should I be? What tests should be given? Is this my pituitary gland?

He has officially gained 9 pounds in one months time while taking Risperdone alone (no longer taking Adderall XR which had offset the appetite). Also taking Valproic Acid to control seizures and Paxil for anxiety. Thanks again!
