162069 tn?1224677411 Good news and wish for further improvement as well for Amber. Amy, I was taking digoxin. And here is a message from Mark & Associates, Attorneys at Law. QUOTE: ___________________________________________________________ If you took Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin or Lanoxicaps and suffered from overdose, it could be due to taking defective tablets containing twice the active ingredient as approved.
Avatar n tn After my heart attack 6 years ago, I was on digitek for a few months only. The known side effects of digitek: "Apathy, blurred vision, breast development in males, change in heartbeat, confusion, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, lower stomach pain, nausea, psychosis, rash, vomiting, weakness, yellow vision" I was concerned with the prescription when there was a recall. As it turned out it was the generic "digitek" for digoxin.
Avatar n tn Hello, The cones in your eyes, those cells responsible for color perception are programmed for red, green, and blue electromagnetic waves. Staring at a strong color for a long period of time and then closing your eyes causes the opposite color to linger on your eyes. (red-green, blue-yellow, green red, yellow-blue). It's known as the opponent process. This is absolutely normal. http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn During af I got bisoprolol (not good, stopped), Digoxin and Dilmin (not good, stopped). Digoxin and atenolol were left until I got Multaq a week before electric cardioversion. Atenolol has been very good for me to prevent tachycardia for tens of years. Most betablockers are not good for me. Calcium blockers are not good either, eg. Verapamil is forbidden. I don't know Crestor and Cartia. Do you know to what group of medicines they belong? Now I have been without af over nine months.
Avatar n tn I took Digoxin for a number of years in reponse to an atrial fibrillation event. My new physician did not feel I needed to be on it any longer. What are the side effects of discontinuing this medication? I have been off it for several months and some odd changes in my body.
Avatar n tn s explanation where he states digoxin is used to treat irregular heartbeats. I was on digoxin for a few months following my congested heart failue event. It is my understanding the medication is used to increase contractility of the pumping chambers. My medication for stablizing heart rate is a beta blocker (coreg) and an ACE inhibitor. My research: "Digoxin is contraindicated in patients with ventricular fibrillation.

Avatar f tn However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes. There are so many newer drugs now that are far more effective. My basic understanding of Digoxin is that it works on the heart's electrical system and decreases the heart rate, but increases each stroke volume.
Avatar f tn But does the yellow tint cause clarity issue in dim or not so well lit buildings? So, why do they still make the clear??? for picky people like me? or does it give better clarity and better vision?
Avatar m tn When I first wake up, I see everything in shades of yellow or green. Everything - walls, sheets, dogs, clothing - everything. What causes this?
Avatar f tn i hev a question concerning digoxin....wat is its effect in the body. I mean its pharmacokinetic effects. i am having a hard time searching the net for it...
Avatar n tn If there are no other symptoms present like persistence of yellow sclera, or yellow-tinge of your skin, then there is nothing to be worried about. If the yellow vision persists and the symptoms I mentioned also are present, you may need to have this evaluated further to rule out other causes like hepatitis. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn s clear UV filtering only IOL. I have no other vision or health issues. Will a yellow IOL, possibly more yellow than my 'good' eye, or a clear IOL, almost certainly less yellow than my 'good' eye (with perhaps lower-than-normal age-related yellowing of the human lens) blend better and work better for years to come?
Avatar n tn Re the yellow tint: The tint is the result of Alcon's blue-light filtration feature which allegedly provides protection against age-related macular degeneration. (The scientific basis for this "protection" is very flimsy.) The results of Alcon's unpublished, in-house studies reportedly show that the yellow tint does not affect color perception. (Yet why, then, does Alcon make both a clear and yellow version of ReStor?

1231791 tn?1289756226 My current new problem is at rest my face flushes deeply and pulses blurring vision slightly and bringing on severe headaches. My cardiologist insists it's not heart related and family Dr hasn't a clue. Any ideas ?
Avatar n tn I am wondering if you are uneasy about taking digoxin. If so, I would ask you cardio if you can get by with just the TOPROL XL. Digoxin, xanax, toprol xl, and lisinoprol seems like a lot of stuff to be taking. I am a runner and only take TOPROL XL 12.5mg. This knocks out my extra beats and really slows my heart down. A little seems to go a long way for me.
Avatar m tn s not how yellow it looks on the IOL but whether it makes your vision look yellow to you. This has not be a probablem in most patients, if it was you can be sure the IOL would not be using them.
Avatar f tn I am taking Digoxin for tachycardia--my cardiologist says that while there aren't good studies available for cardiac meds while pregnant Digoxin is believed to be safe. It is not a betablocker, however the dr felt the digoxin would be safer than a betablocker while preggo. Also the changes in your blood volume while pregnant may correct the tachycardia.
Avatar n tn I do not frankly remember whether I ever had this kind of vision episode due to high glucose levels, but if my blood sugar drops extremely low, weird vision things can happen, like the 'yellow' vision -- everything can look like a negative or even colors can look somewhat psychedelic or bright but grayed out (sort of like what she is explaining) when blood sugar levels are too low. There are other symptoms of low glucose, and I experience the same symptoms if glucose levels are too high.
4356842 tn?1353312209 Been taking digoxin since being diagnosed. I am pretty sure I have had svt all my life, I do recall having attacks when I was younger, but three years ago is when it go bad and more frequent. My cardio told me at first that he things surgery is a last resort for me. I am tired of dealing with the episodes. I feel lucky that their not that bad and that they are tolerable. I am just worried about having the ablation and coming out worse than what I am now.
