I too was in the ER with Afib. Hours of IV push Lopressor, Digoxin, and Diltiazem were unsuccessful in converting the rhythm. I was sedated and electrically cardioverted. I can't say for sure that this was the reason for my lung congestion. I attributed that to the massive amounts of IV fuid that were run in due to critically low BP. I am taking Digoxin for tachycardia--my cardiologist says that while there aren't good studies available for cardiac meds while pregnant Digoxin is believed to be safe. Beacuse I also have heart problems, the neurologist and cardiologist got together and prescribed DIGOXIN. Altho I have not see anything on the INET about the use of digoxin in auto neuropathy, I don't know why not. It made a tremendous difference in my pulse, bp, and even in decreasing stomache nausea and constipation (stomache is also controlled by vagal nerve). I felt almost normal. Digoxin is the only drug I know of on the market which strengthens the vagal nerve.
