Perhaps I rambled on too long in my post....what I'm trying to figure out is if my metoprolol works as well as the lopressor (name brand) Considering the fact I've gone down hill with my EF since on the generic I just am wondering if that is one of the reasons. My dr swears all generics are just as good as brand names....guess I'm just looking for answers as to why I'm getting worse... Thanks though for your answer and yes will discuss (once again) with my cardio doctor........

It seems that the addition of digoxin to her regimen is what has done the trick, as it has significantly lowered her amount of SVT pac's are still very frequent, but as long as her ef is improved I am a very happy camper....

I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes. There are so many newer drugs now that are far more effective. It is possible, Thyroid meds are funny, what works well for one does not work well for others, I was on (Generic) Levothyroxine for six months and my labs did not budge, then went to Synthroid (brand Name) and had better sucess, my endo claimed that generics were not as consistant as name brand. Pharmacy said they are the same? So the change may have made a difference, some times the fillers they use can cause issues also.

m going to save myself $200 and try to trust the generic, or buy the brand name again. Its just nice, a rare luxury for me to have a brand name medication of any kind and its the most important one for me. I trust the original maker very much. And here's my argument on the whole generic thing. Sure the FDA Tested a batch of each clonazepam generic maker's pills, but it has to be understood that not every single pill or batch can be tested.

I've read all the comments here and today I called a refill in for Brand Name Klonpin...I've been taking the generic for years. I will post back and let you know if I feel a difference.

Does anyone know or have experience with taking Digoxin or Metoprolol and did it cause you to have a choking feeling? I have been on both for about 5 weeks now and have had this choking sensation for about that long. I have been sent for an ultrasound of my neck and they found nothing. My Internest acted like it was in my head and told me to take Tylenol. Maybe she thought I was trying to get pain meds out of her. That just didn't make sense. I am not in pain.

I am wondering if you are uneasy about taking digoxin. If so, I would ask you cardio if you can get by with just the TOPROL XL. Digoxin, xanax, toprol xl, and lisinoprol seems like a lot of stuff to be taking. I am a runner and only take TOPROL XL 12.5mg. This knocks out my extra beats and really slows my heart down. A little seems to go a long way for me.

I am taking Digoxin for tachycardia--my cardiologist says that while there aren't good studies available for cardiac meds while pregnant Digoxin is believed to be safe. It is not a betablocker, however the dr felt the digoxin would be safer than a betablocker while preggo. Also the changes in your blood volume while pregnant may correct the tachycardia.

s tried IV Cardizem, Lopressor and Digoxin. All did nothing but drop my bp to 60 palp. Ultimately had to be cardioverted.
