Avatar f tn I have very low blood pressure as well and always has and I am 43 years old. My normal blood pressure is 90/60 but I have ofter seen it at 78/58 the lowest I have seen it at is 76/48. I am often very tired, occasional dizziness but my cardiologist is not worried as this is my normal. He said that only when you have a sudden drop in BP there is worries. I am not treated for that at all.

Avatar f tn Hi, Digoxin is administered in the treatment of Congestive heart failure . Diastolic blood pressure significantly decreased and systolic blood pressure significantly increased during overnight sleep in the digoxin phase .Heart rate decreased in the overnight sleeping phase . Digoxin significantly decreases diastolic blood pressure during overnight sleep in patients with congestive heart failure.
Avatar n tn I recently had a 2 d echo and I would greatly appreciate some explanation of the results. The abnormals are mitral valve leaflets thickened, aortic vavlular sclerosis, diastolic transmitral e/a ratio decreased suggesting diastolic relaxation impairment, mild mr and mild tr present I am 39 with a history of tachycardia. I am currently taking digoxin 250mcg twice a day. Even with that my heart rate is still in the high 90's resting.

Avatar m tn Hi, Well, your ejection fraction is definitely low and the only method to ensure it remains the same or actually increases is by using drugs like ace inhibitors, digoxin etc. One also needs to ensure that the salt & fluid consumption is within limits as that also tend to aggravate the CHF. One has to ensure that the blood pressure, heart rate & lipids are kept under control. Please do consult your cardiologist also.I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn during fever when the demands of the body tissues are more and heart is not able to meet the same, any sudden rhythm disturbances of the heart, any acute blockage in the coronary vessels which can result in a compromised blood supply, sudden surges in blood pressure which put an extra load on the heart muscle etc can result in a worsening of the EF.

Avatar m tn abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, lack of sleep, tiredness, low blood pressure (excess dosage), numbness, cold extremities and as you mentioned you faces slow heart rate, which is also a major drawback of Atenolol. It slows sown your heart rate. The interaction of Atenolol with Calcium channel blockers (CCBs), digoxin (Lanoxin) and Reserpine and monamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors may cause this problem. You must notice that what medicine you are taking along with Atenolol.
Avatar m tn When a person has heart disease, the blood pressure needs to remain low. Your mom's blood pressure is not too low. As her blood builds back to where it should be, she may see an increase in her blood pressure. The main thing with heart disease is to keep the pressure down. Normal for an average person is 120/72. Doctors usually want it lower in people with heart disease. Her medications are needed to help her live a longer lifespan.

Avatar f tn Helped with my tachycardia but not the irregular beats. I suffer from extremely low blood pressure so you can imagine how the Toprol makes me feel. Four months ago my EP added flecainide to the Toprol. I was absolutely terrified. I was not admitted for the loading. It is actually not required that they do that (they have to with Sotalol). I wore a cardionet monitor.
Avatar f tn 20 mcg Digoxin, all twice daily) has high blood pressure. Her latest readings (taken while awake, and calm, with an infant MANUAL bp cuff) were 114/80 (left arm) & 110/68 (right arm). What could be causing her high blood pressure?
254714 tn?1316613355 no cry or screaming at all no pressure...and there not in my face i have them on my chest mostly left side and left upper arm, the only medication i take is digoxin .
Avatar m tn Common causes causing erection problem are stress and anxiety, poor communication with your partner, unrealistic sexual expectations, which make sex a task rather than a pleasure, negative feelings about non performance, smoking, alcohol and sometimes illicit drugs and medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid conditions, poor circulation, low testosterone, depression, spinal cord or neurological problems.
471161 tn?1317190950 Right before the lupus kicked in in 2007 I started having higher blood pressure and would feel the bla bloops more often. Now, since I was in the hospital in Januray I feel them constantly. I don't know how long the EKG actually runs, it is very fast, but I had three during it the other day. So do you think that is a PVC? I am going to ask my cardio what it is called. An early heart beat sounds simplified. He has also called it arrythmias I think. I had my CT Scan this afternoon.
Avatar n tn Tried cardioversion but did not work--was told only a 30% chance of success. Am on lisinopril for blood pressure-- for a fib--digoxin, tatzia xt and xarelto as blood thinner. Cardiologist said were other meds he could give me but side effects outweighed benefits and would not change meds unless had no other choice. I have a fib daily but not as strong as when started.
Avatar f tn My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but i'm on Betablockers for a tachycardia that no-one can find a reason for! i'm only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, and would like to know what risks there are. I'm currently on a waiting list to see cardiology and find out what their opinion is but would like a bit of advice.
Avatar n tn The existence of double-strength pills pose a risk of digitalis toxicity, which can result in nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, cardiac instability, bradycardia and even death. Digitek is a registered trademark of Actavis Totowa (formerly Amide Pharmaceutical, Inc.) for their digoxin tablets, which are prescribed to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. The drug is distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., under a “Bertek” label and by UDL Laboratories, Inc. under a “UDL” label.
Avatar f tn You should NEVER trust advice about medications you get on forums. If you ask this question to a cardiologist on expert forum, he will probably answer that he won't give advice on meds, and neither should lay people like us. I 100% second Ireneo and her opinion on letting doctors handle your meds. It seems you have some kind of bradycardia (slow heartrate) and your BP is low.
Avatar f tn I am on 800mg a day, I cut back to 400mg but that was because it was making my blood pressure too low (blood pressure is always low, mixed with preg it went really low) I am now 26 weeks and everything looks fine with my little man. My cardiologist said it would be greater harm to quit then to be on it.
