Avatar n tn Some doctors prescribe digoxin for irregular heartbeat, but monitor heart rate and kidney function closely. I hope the digoxin perspective helps you make the right decision. Take care. Cardiovascular side effects have been reported the most frequently.
Avatar f tn Our daughter, who was born with a VSD and PFO, is now having some issues with cyanosis in her extremities. Her VSD is now down to 4 mm, and her CHF is well controlled by meds. Her PFO we were told was down to a pinhole. I know that some mottling/cyanosis, can be normal in newborns due to immature circulatory system, however, hers seems to be severe. Yesterday her extremities stayed purple for almost the whole day. Both hands and feet, were DARK purple.
Avatar f tn You can know Funeng Therapy that will promote blood perfusion, improve GFR and slow down the kidney pathological damage.
Avatar f tn I take diltiazen and want to stop taking RX med and replace with herbal and natural alternative. I do not have high blood pressure.
Avatar f tn Meanwhile, an appropriate treatment method also is quite important. You can know something about Funeng Therapy that will promote blood perfusion and slow down the kidney pathological damage.
Avatar f tn My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but i'm on Betablockers for a tachycardia that no-one can find a reason for! i'm only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, and would like to know what risks there are. I'm currently on a waiting list to see cardiology and find out what their opinion is but would like a bit of advice.
Avatar n tn I took Digoxin for a number of years in reponse to an atrial fibrillation event. My new physician did not feel I needed to be on it any longer. What are the side effects of discontinuing this medication? I have been off it for several months and some odd changes in my body.
Avatar f tn 25 to 40% breathing normal), stopped the coreg last December and the Digoxin due to the recall in April, only to start new symptoms of bad breathing and EF of <25. By end of April. I have never had high Blood Pressure always around 120/80 or chest pains even during the myocarditis. Catheter reults during the myo showed no artery problems or any scars on the heart just a weakened heart function LVEF. Moved out of state since last year.
Avatar n tn He was having problems breathing and when I received a phone call stating that he was not able to speak due to it, I rushed home and had an ambulance take him to the E.D. He was put on a ventilator and we were told that he had kidney failure and liver failure. He did not drink alcohol in excess at all. He actually didn't drink within the last 50 years. They kept asking if he was an alcoholic.
Avatar n tn Stress induced reversible perfusion defect of mild to moderate severity in the part of apex and apical anterior segments and the basal inferior and adjoining basal inferolateral segments involving 12-14% of LV myocardium. 2.Adequate perfusion is seen in rest of the apex, anterior wall, inferior wall, lateral wall and septum of the LV myocardium. On the basis of this cardiologist advised to get CT coronary angiography. The result of the CT coronary angiography as given below: 1.
4356842 tn?1353312209 So I had a pretty crappy cold about a week and a half ago, now being on digoxin I can't take cold meds so I stick it out. Well the cold is now over and my teeth are hurting. I see no signs of abscess' and my mom thinks it might be a sinus infection. No from what I've read online they usually give amoxcillin to treat it. My question is has anyone else on digoxin taken amoxcillin? Is it safe. Being on dig I know there's a lot of stuff we can and can not take.
Avatar f tn The Heart Rhythm Society did a few randomized trials to assess the efficacy of calcium channel blockers, beta-blockers and digoxin in SVT. A comparison of verapamil, propranolol and digoxin showed equivalent efficacy in a small group of patients. However, in general calcium channel blockers and beta-blockers are preferred to digoxin. Digoxin has been around for a long time! I used Digoxin over 50 years ago for my PSVT, and my recollection was that it did little to prevent episodes.
Avatar f tn I have some Afib and some PAC's, my doc said Digoxin and Toprol do the same thing, I chose the Digoxin. Does anyone take the Digoxin for these conditions and it works? Which do you think is better?
Avatar m tn Just wonder what questions I should be asking and if I should be concerned. I am a male 44 yrs old (218) and workout/cardio 5-6 times a week. Echo overall left ventricular systolic function is low-normal with an EF between 50-55% Pseudonormal LV filling patter, consistent with elevated LA pressure Grade @ Diastolic Dysfunction Left Atrium is mildly dilated Mild mitral regurgitation Resting bradycadir (55-60 bpm) Stress Test myocardial perfusion imaging was abnormal.
Avatar f tn s my completely unprofessional opinion on what I know about digoxin, and I took it for a number of years as a kid for SVT. It's an old drug that's been used literally for centuries. I took it back in 1957. It's inherently toxic and if that fact was not enough to curtail its use, there's evidence that suggests the drug, even at dosages normally considered safe, can cause visual problems, serious skin rashes, and may significantly aggravate asthma.
Avatar m tn I next had a Myocardial Spect Perfusion test and an Echocardiogram. The echo showed mild mitral and mild tricuspid regurgitation. The perfusion scan was negative, at 99% of 159bmp, no perfusion abnormalities at rest or at peak. I did not experience throat tightening. I still occasionally experience throat tightening at peak exercise; on the inhale. The Cardio invited me to participate in a CCTA trial. Would a CCTA provide additional useful info?
Avatar f tn 20 mcg Digoxin, all twice daily) has high blood pressure. Her latest readings (taken while awake, and calm, with an infant MANUAL bp cuff) were 114/80 (left arm) & 110/68 (right arm). What could be causing her high blood pressure?
Avatar f tn It looks like taking too much might be a bad idea if you have kidney problems. Well , here is what they see as a safe dose and some possible drug interactions: Adult •Adolescent and adult males: 270 - 400 mg daily •Adolescent and adult females: 280 - 300 mg daily •Pregnant females: 320 mg daily •Breastfeeding females: 340 - 335 mg daily A person' s need for magnesium increases during pregnancy, recovery from surgery and illnesses, and athletic training.
Avatar f tn I know if i was on digoxin i would look at the packaging the pharmacy gave me and go directly to the horses mouth so to speak and go onto the manufactuerers site and see what they have to say about long term effects, etc. They should tell you what the clinical studies showed, side effects and all of the pertinent information....good luck to you....
Avatar m tn Then I found on the internet how toxic Digoxin could be with the other medicines I was taking, and that no one should be kept on it for very long. Since the second cardiologist removed Digoxin from my prescriptions, and I was healing and getting better, I think I must have been under a toxic level of Digoxin causing blood in my urine and poisoning affects of awake,eyesight,cuts,etc..
