digitek

304450 tn?1192686333 CoQ10 (try Q-Absorb), L-Carnitine, A quality Fish Oil (Nordic Naturals). A Dr. Sinatra from Connecticut wrote a great book about this. These supplements vastly improve EF and quality of life with CHF. He has a website or you can go to Amazon, com and buy it off the internet, then go to www.iherb.com (the best place!!!) and order the supplements. I don't trust meds and these supplements have proven results. Also, kenkeith is right.
Avatar n tn My father recenlty fell, fractured his hip and I have been getting contradicting information about digoxin, since he has low blood pressure and digoxin may not be safe for him.. Thank you This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/239460'>Dijoxin Level</a>.
Avatar n tn You are on exactily the same meds I am on. I hope these will be helpfull.
4237975 tn?1351595953 Lifestyle changes include limiting physical activity, eating a heart healthy diet, completely avoiding alcohol and/or tobacco use, practice relaxation techniques like yoga and keeping a daily weight diary to keep a tab on weight changes. Medications such as digoxin and beta blockers help to improve the pumping capacity of the heart. Discuss these options with your consulting doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn 25 to 40% breathing normal), stopped the coreg last December and the Digoxin due to the recall in April, only to start new symptoms of bad breathing and EF of <25. By end of April. I have never had high Blood Pressure always around 120/80 or chest pains even during the myocarditis. Catheter reults during the myo showed no artery problems or any scars on the heart just a weakened heart function LVEF. Moved out of state since last year.
Avatar m tn Diagnosed with CHF and DCM in 1999. Probably tachycardia-induced. Multiple ineffective DC cardioversions, months of amiodarone, years of Tikosyn, Sotalol, and so many other drugs. Had my 2nd ablation at the mayo clinic in 2007. Restored NSR for 24 hours until an echo-tech jammed the probe really hard into my chestwall, knocked back into permanent afib since then.
Avatar f tn i have had a biventricular pacemaker/icd since 2004 and am taking coreg, digoxin, lisinopril, coumadin, lasix and spironlactone. i am on maximum therapy for coreg and lisinopril and my coumadin was just upped. the a-fib, v-tach is new since 9/28/07. i spent the last 4 years in relative denial of any serious issues, but now i am scared. i understand that the icd is there to save me from sudden cardiac arrest. it did just that in september. what happens now? does it get worse?
21064 tn?1309308733 On carvedilol (aka coreg) 6.25 mg 2x a day and lisinipril 10 mg a day to help protect my heart and keep my bp down from a pregnancy induced cardiomyopathy. I have some dizziness probably from both and some short term memory issues from the coreg. Wondering if anyone else has had the memory issues w/coreg, glad my dose isn't any higher.
Gracias a Dios no he tenido hospitalizaciones desde entonces. Pero en ocasiones me dan ciertas dolamas raras. Como la que he experimentado en estos días. He sentido unas punzadas al lado izquierdo del Corazón que van y vienen por debajo de la clavícula.
Avatar f tn All labs are normal and heart cath showed all pressures to be normal and no blockages. I have been placed on Aldactone, Digoxin, Coreg. Lasix and Coumadin. I take all of them daily expect for the Lasix. If heart hasn't strenghtened in 6-9 months will be looking at being placed on transplant list. Dr. wants to place me on Lisinopril also, but blood pressure drops with all the meds, to a level that I can't function.
Avatar n tn sotalol 320 mg twice/day Mexiletine 200mg 3/day Niaspan 1000MG 1/day, coreg 12.5 mg 2/day. digoxin 01.25mcg 1/day, spironolactone 25mg 1/day, warfarin 3mg 1/day zocor 40mg 1/day lisinopril 10mg 1/day. My question is what i sould do, go for a heart transplant or keep things the way they are.
Avatar m tn I was at a 25% ejection fraction put on 3.125 Coreg 2x a day ( lowest dosage ) and my heart went back to 60% within 6 months. I was also on Lasix 40 mg. Some other things I have done a ton of research and I have found that there are a few vitamins that have shown great success. CO Q10, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin C there are a few others in the heart failure research that are suppose to work well for it too.
Avatar f tn Hi. I do not have any experience. Nevertheless, a pacemaker sounds like a potentially life altering change. You are right to want to evaluate the need for it. The weather is starting to shape up! I would assess the experience and credentials of your doctor, and then also get a second/third or fourth opinion about this. Go comfortably out of town to doctors with outstanding qualifications of it makes sense, telling all three/four of your doctors how you are feeling, and ask for ideas.
162069 tn?1224677411 t good, but i have taken care of that and i take her grocery shopping now and do not leave her extra money to walk to store to buy junk) the fact that she is on coreg, digoxin, inspra and vasotec should keep her bp low... it has been in the 105-110/80 range before... she is scheduled for echo on may 17 i also have her walking about 15 min a day.... any ideas??
Avatar m tn I concur with Ed and Flycaster but the issue for this patient is the return of her anginal symptoms after 3 weeks. If we assume she has been supplementing the nitro patch with sl nitro for angina symptoms then address that critical issue for the patient as she needs good O2 supply to heart muscle regardless of underlying etiology. 1. Is she using the patches correctly? Not halving them, having no interference with light/sun on them and sweat coming between the patch and her skin.
Avatar f tn As you, I experienced CHF more than 6 years ago, and a dilated left ventricle with an EF below 29%. My condition was due to ischemia (lack of blood flow) to an area of the heart that impaired normal contractions. There was restoration of blood flow to the area, medication to reduce the heart's workload (ACE inhibitor to dilate vessels) and coreg. My heart returned to norml size and as a consequence the EF returned to normal (currently at 59%). Additionally, I have always felt well also.
Avatar n tn synchronizer of the bottom ventricles of the heart. He is on maximum medication and has been doing relatively well until about 2 months ago when he started noticebly dragging his right leg and not swinging his right arm. He is also loosing function in his right hand. His cardiologist did a CT scan of the head which was normal, ruling out stroke or brain bleed. His bloodwork was normal. A nuclear stress test has been done & we will receive those results in 2 days.
Avatar f tn It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states. I am not sure what the name will be of the medication when it becomes available in the US. Salmon, fish oil, and dark chocolate have been shown to raise HDL levels. Your level should be in the 50's if you can get it there.
Avatar n tn 25 with bad breathing problems, had an electro-cardioversion that brought me back to normal sinus rythem, normal breathing and again EF back up to 40% in 1-month continued on with Coreg and Digoxin for 9-months, came off the coreg and continued taking the Digitek only.
1270609 tn?1272403546 But, I know the importance considering my EF and the LBBB. Most worried about having it put in; supposedly they stop the heart to give the device a chance to prove itself. AHHHH!!! And, I have read that the Biventricular pacer can be complicated. Just have to trust in their expertise. My doctor for this operation is very young, but they seem to be the ones most current with technolgy. It will be done at Washington Hosp. Cen. in DC, so I will be surrounded by the best. STILL SCARED SILLY THOUGH!
Avatar m tn when she was diagnosed her ef was 32% and now with her current meds of coreg, enalapril, inspra and digoxin her ef is up to 42% and she is no longer in heart failure. the most important thing we did was change her doctor... i began to take her the univ of mich drs and they have been the ones who have made it possible for this improvement.
Avatar f tn My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby but i'm on Betablockers for a tachycardia that no-one can find a reason for! i'm only on 1.25mg of bisoprolol, and would like to know what risks there are. I'm currently on a waiting list to see cardiology and find out what their opinion is but would like a bit of advice.
Avatar n tn I had the problem with coreg (beta blocker and ace inhibitor). Coreg Cr is a single slow acting dose, and the same coreg dosage split to twice a day (morning and night) was more effective. Talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your help and valued concern. I'm asthmatic, the cause of my right heart issues, so I know albuterol very well. When all this crisis happened before I went to hospital, my regular doctor told me to stop taking it as it was making my heart beat too fast. I'm breathing it at the moment, coincidentally, and my heart rate is 180 but the cardiologist is happy to take the risk - and so am I!!! I'll be having Lasix and Digoxin afterwards.
Avatar m tn 5 of coreg i started the meds in janaury of 2010 and was just retested with an echo the results stayed the same 30/35 at rest thx
Avatar f tn My electrophysiolgist/cardiologist prescribed Coreg and Lisinopril for my condition. I have episodes of ventricular tachycardia, apparently brought on by a focal wall abnormality in my left ventricle. I also have atrial fibrillation. I have an ICD as well. When I mention to other doctors that I take these medications, they insist I must have high blood pressure. I don't have high blood pressure and never have.
Avatar n tn I had MI in 2007 and since have low ef 30-35%. Other meds are AEC-I aspirin/clopidogrel, digoxin, statin, aldectone. Or could this be some other problem related to ef which could be worsening? What should I look for?
