diflucan yeast infection medicine

Has anyone taken diflucan for a yeast infection while pregnant. My doctor gave it to me yesterday and I read that it has Not been proven safe for pregnant or nursing women. And no smart comments about "your doc wont give you anything unsafe to take while prego" because I started bleeding a WHOLE bunch last night/this morning around 1am and I had to go to the hospital. That's why I'm asking.

I have been struggling with symptoms of a yeast infection on and off for 6 months. It all started after taking antibiotics for 10 days in June 2013. Ever since then I have had vaginal irritation, burning, itching, and a whitish chunky discharge. I went to see my GYN and she prescribed Diflucan. It eased the symptoms, but became worse after completing the medicine. So I went back to the GYN and she prescribed diflucan again.

I dont know if anyone can help me or give me some suggestions, but back in December I had a yeast infection and the doctor prescribed me terconazole vaginal cream...before she had always given me the diflucan pill and it went away right away. however, this time she gave me the cream and i used it for the 7days like she said and didnt have sex w my bf at all. after the 7th day of using the terconazole cream my bf and i had sex w a condom.

Yesterday I was diagnosed with a yeast infection and the doctor gave me a Diflucan (sp?) pill which I took around 4pm. Today, I noticed the one scratch/cut I had was gone but the area around it seemed dry and flaky. Also, I've noticed a slight increase in discharge nothing extreme but definitely not my normal amount of discharge. I was just wondering if this was normal? Thank you.

The diflucan caused me to get a bacterial infection and then the medicine for that caused an actual yeast infection. Since then I have not felt normal. I only have relief when I have my period or for a few days when I have discharge. It's like an itchy, dry, swollen and warm feeling. I have gone back to the doctors 10 times, 2 of them were specialists. They haven't seen yeast or any kind of infection. They don't see lesions suggesting herpes.

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

Who all has had a yeast infection. Im 38+4 and at 34w I found out I had a yeast infection my doctor said I didn't have to take med unless it started bothering me. It did this weekend. I got the over the counter med like she said and used it tonight, now im burning and uncomfortable. Any advice?

I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days. I have a couple of questions. 1.

good move to get a new gyno why anyone would treat twice for an not seen yeast infection is beyond me...thats what diflucan is for too.If you see a discahrge that is rather thick and clumpy and white that is yeast, yeast typically itches like heck but not burning,,tell them you want a vaginal culture to determine the exact pathogen causing your discomfort and perhaps a repeat of the std scans.

Please help me: I have taken the diflucan medicine two days ago, afterwards my frequent discharges became slightly bloody. Could anyone be so kind to help me explain this situation?

OR, I use ONE day monostat over the counter which has the highest concentration of medicine in it. It takes about two days to work as all over the counter yeast medications do not work immediately (diflucan does). Also eat probiotic yogurt, wear cotton underwear that you change whenever you sweat, let yourself air out occasionally. Do not douche, EVER. So, probably the best thing to do is talk to your mom about this.

It could be that you need another round of the Diflucan sometimes it is so bad that one pill is not enough. What kind of soap do you use some soaps are too strong and cause yeast infections. Zest will I know and shower gels as well like the kind from bath and body works. Scrunchies can transmit yeast infections if you unknowingly used one during a yeast infection.

One common cause would be a mild yeast imbalance. You should probably go to the doc and be checked for yeast. Diflucan is a very effective tablet by Rx. Or take Azo-Yeast, 2 pills a day while reducing dietary sugar and carbs and increasing vegetables. Use a very mild soap, like unscented Dove. You could use a topical yeast medicine, but they have ingredients that irritate a lot of women.

Also, you should have your partner wear condoms until your yeast infection is gone because yeast can transfer back and forth. If you want to treat over the counter, Monostat one day works pretty well. The only thing is it takes about 2 days. Then the symptoms get less and less and should go away. I recently used this (and the one day has the highest concentration of medicine. You can use the name brand or store brand) and it worked for me.
