I applied the Canesten vaginal tablet online to treat my yeast infection and this morning there ive been experiencing a " white powdery discharge" . Is that the tablet disintergrating inside and bein expelled? How long will this last? Should i wash as usual?

Treatment involves getting an over the counter anti fungal from the pharmacy. You can use a cream or pessary ie clotrimazole (Canesten) or take a single dose tablet ie fluconazole (Diflucan). At the same time you might want to take some probiotics to help recolonise the good bacteria in your gut.

It is very common to get thrush after antibiotics as they kill off all the good bacteria and allow there to be an overgrowth of Candida (the yeast that causes thrush).

If your doc thinks shaving bumps, it's probably shaving bumps. Add the irritation from monistat (and doesn't that stuff BURN), and a yeast infection, and I'm sure you're quite irritated.
Ask your doctor for oral fluconazole.
A week went by and the skin stopped peeling and became very red with tiny little bumps everywhere. I used canesten for 1 week with no results and coconut oil for another week again nothing. I decided to see my G.P who also agreed to it being balanitis. I was tested for STIs with negative results. My doc frist had me try Diflucan one which didnt help, then a course keflex antibiotics which did little and also hydrozol cream which worked pretty well.

I took a vaginal canesten tablet that night and diflucan (oral). i also took another diflucan tablet last night (day 14) which was 3 days later after seeing the gyno. I did notice the next day that the vaginal tablet has bits coming out of me with tiny red dots......i figured it was the tablet. I am not sure if this is all linked. So this is my first yeast infection-sexually active with my fiance. i first started it right before my period, and it continued afterwards so i went to my dr and got a perscription for diflucan, one pill treatment. it's been about 3 days and i'm still producing the white discharge and am very slightly itchy still but otherwise feel fine. how long does it take for the diflucan to work usually and is there anything else i can do to speed it along?
This is easily treated by an over the counter antifungal from the pharmacy. You can get a single dose tablet (Diflucan) or creams and pessaries ie Canesten/monistat. The tablet takes 2 or 3 days to start working so using a cream in the meantime can really help. You can buy a prepackaged tablet and cream set.
can i use canesten instead of monistat my mom bought me that and she said it was ok....
My period is usually more brownish in the last few days and it gives me a severe stinging sensation whenever I pee and sex is completely out of the question. Even after my period the burning remains until I take some vaginal pessaries such as canesten. The creams do not help at all, only the pessaries seem to cure me from the burning. But then comes the next period and I have to go through this again.
OTC is over the counter (probably from a pharmacy rather than a supermarket). It means you don't need a prescription to get it.
I'm not so sure that it is thrush. Thrush often has a cheesy looking discharge. A fishy smell and discharge suggests bacterial vaginosus (BV) which probably requires antibiotics such as metronidazole (Flagyl).
The douching is making it worse and you may have both thrush and BV.
You could try a thrush treatment ie Diflucan, Canesten or other antifungals.
I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.
I have a penile infection that causes itching at the head of my penis and itching of the anus.I get red spots on my penis and have been using Canesten cream,only on my penis, I also get a coating of clear liquid at the penis head. m kind of prone to those anyway, so I started doing canesten treatments (inserting cream at night for three nights). The first night made such a difference!! No smell. But the second and third time, it came back :/. So maybe this is BV?

As i had this problem it was really sore to wipe but not wee and i had bacterial infection and thrush and im a very clean person... if you think it is thrush you can buy canesten over the counter use it for a few days and if it doesnt clear up go to ur gp and ask to be swabbed thats what i did ..
I have to shower three times a day for it to be mild. Anyways, I have tried Monistat, Canesten and Probiotic. All sort of stalled it, or made it a little better but there is still always a slight smell and discharge, out of the ordinary I mean, and with all of these, the discomfort returned a week or so later. I want something that will get rid of this permanently because it makes things uncomfortable with my boyfriend, during sex, when I urinate, at the gym etc.
For the following three month the penile irritation continued. I tried using canesten and hydrocortosone for a while. Canesten worked once only. I continued to use it for a while with no effect. When the worst of the penile discomfort was over I began to feel tingling in by left buttocks. However, this was two days after cardioversion. the tingling lasted two days and was replace with prickling sensation in my buttocks, penis, front of my knees and my ankels.
As you live in a different country to me, ask the pharmacist for the antifungal cream to be applied to the vagina if you wish to purchase this yourself. In the UK we use Canesten, Canesten HC, and also Trimovate which are applied sparingly to the problem area.
At home do not use any soap to wash down below or any shower gels or feminine sprays. This will aggravate your skin more. I find adding a couple of handfuls of oats into my bath helps.
