My son had to take the nystatin for like 10 days before we saw any relief. I also had to apply it to my nipples as well to make sure we weren't passing the infection back and forth. Thrush can be very difficult to treat...be consistent with the medication and if after a week + you still don't see any relief, they do make diflucan in an oral suspension that babies can take. Diflucan is a stronger yeast killer.

I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

I'm so excited I had to share... tonight I was nursing the baby and it hit me.. this doesn't hurt anymore. It took 6 weeks, but breastfeeding is pain free! After weeks of cracked nipples and mastetis at last I can do this without my toes curling. I'm still pumping and bottle feeding as well, but it's nice to know that I can nurse her without all the drama.

I had taken Diflucan for a week for a possible yeast infection in my mammary glands due to pain while breastfeeding, but it turns out that breastfeeding just hurts. I haven't noticed any improvement, but today my neck has started to itch a bit. Any ideas?

Anyway she prescribed an oestrogen cream, but I checked the containdications and breastfeeding is contraindicated. I am still breastfeeding and not ready to stop so I can't take that. Anyway, why prescribe an oestrogen cream for something that is just a nervous condition. Does this sound right? I am not feeling good about all of this. Don't know where else to post this or where to get advice or what?

Your normal bacterial flora in your intestines are getting unbalanced and/or you are losing some organisms due to the antibiotics. You should start taking probiotics. This will help get your normal bacteria back. But I would ask Metametrix if it will cause any problems with their test just to be sure. Also, you can take an oral antifungal but I wouldn't recommend it because they have bad side effects.

I was wondering if you've had any improvement with your condition. I think I may have the same thing you do/did.. but I noticed mine after I got home from delivering my baby. I asked my dr about it and she said that it might be fungal/yeast also.. but I had taken diflucan for a week, normally it's just a one day dose, for something related to breastfeeding.. and I didn't notice any change. Were you able to get rid of your spots.. if so.. what did you do?

I also feel something like a tingling in my breast, similar to the letdown feeling when I was breastfeeding my daughter. I have not breastfed for over a year now. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??

Something that widespread on his body doesn't sound like yeast, but he absolutely needs to see a dermatologist. Why are you posting this for your son? I'm assuming he is old enough to have sex, and part of that sexual responsibility is dealing with any health stuff along the way.

I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.

In my experience, the over the counter creams do not work for me but I am extremely sensitive to medications. I alwasy call my doctor and she'll call in a script for me. But, I think Diflucan is the only oral medication (at least it's the only oral medication I've ever heard of for yeast infections).

since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!! this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.

There have been a few reports of multiple, serious birth defects in infants whose mothers took Diflucan in early pregnancy (usually high doses for an extended period of time). Because the birth defects were distinctive and similar in these cases, it is assumed that the medication probably caused the defects. However, statistics generally do indicate that short-term use (such as the single dose used to treat vaginal yeast infections) does not seem to cause such problems.

So yesterday I took one dose of diflucan which is an antibiotic when I looked up the interactions it said it has a major reaction with xanax... its been over 12 hours since I took the diflucan... does anyone know if I can start taking my xanax now.

I thought I was having a yeast infection and took diflucan 10 days ago which majorly lessened symptoms. The symptoms never went away fully so my doc called in another diflucan today. I decided to take a look with a magnifying mirror and saw what looked to possibly be a few very small lesions just under the clitoris they are not painful to the touch and look exactly the same as they did ten days ago.

I have had intense vaginal itching for a couple of weeks now. I went to my gyno and she said I definitely had a yeast infection and gave me 2 Diflucan. I've taken both, and I STILL have this intense itch. It doesn't last all day, but comes in bouts and it's driving me crazy! The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!
