m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!
Your normal bacterial flora in your intestines are getting unbalanced and/or you are losing some organisms due to the antibiotics. You should start taking probiotics. This will help get your normal bacteria back. But I would ask Metametrix if it will cause any problems with their test just to be sure. Also, you can take an oral antifungal but I wouldn't recommend it because they have bad side effects.
Took the Diflucan after the last dose (24 hours after) and I do see an improvement in my symptoms, but the discharge isn't gone. I took it Saturday night and it's now Tues.
Is this a recurrent yeast infection or did I just have the one and aggrevate it with antibiotics? I'm nervous when I google this because it keeps saying my immune system could be compromised... This is only the second yeast infection I've ever had in my life and I'm in my mid 30s.

I have tried diflucan, all the different creams, pessaries and natural yogurt,with no luck. I am also worried my cancer may have returned but i had my mri in jan &have to wait til march for results! isnt that too long? i also want more children so im concerned. thanks.
You must know that the antibiotics kill off the good as well as the bad, and until you can get things back in balance, you will be fighting this for..........well..........a long time. Like a YEAR!
I know you must be scared, but try to understand that you've been tested for a great many things and if there were any red flags, your doctor and Gyno would have looked further.
Keep trying to be seen sooner by this specialist, get put on the cancellation list.

Your question came off like you wanted us to tell you what you were looking at in terms of the oc staying in your system and if youare taking sub,. that makes us concerned. That's all. The point is the question is because you had a mishap as you said, so we just didn't know why you wanted to know how long it takes to come out of your system.
i have so much acid refluxes ,gases,bloating, colon treatment didnt work ,i had endoscopy and i had a red esophagus and H pylor bacteria in stomach.i took 3 courses antibiotics which screwed up my immunity system and almost killed me but i have still the bacteria ! after those heavy courses my colon got real bad , i had to take some medicine which helped for a while to balance the over growth of yeast in my colon.
t seem to be letting up at all. I have tried taking Diflucan in case the outbreak may have caused a yeast infection and otherwise my immune system is healthy. You need to cut out as much refined sugar in your diet as you can and immediately get on a course of good quality probiotics. I would highly recommend going to a naturopath to get evaluated. Changing your diet and taking pro-biotics will re-build your digestive system's healthy bacteria. All the diflucan does is kill the bad bacteria (which causes the yeast infections)...but it kills the body's healthy bacteria along with it. You need to rebuild that in your system. It totally works!
Major pain. Went to urgent care diagnosed with a UTI. Dr gave Cipro, diflucan and AZO. After 3 days they called to say my culture results showed Cipro wasn't the correct meds. Micro bid was the new med. I've had lower abdomen pain since off and on. Is it not working? Do I have a major case of yeast? I took another diflucan thinking it could be yeast pain. Weird pain.....
