Avatar m tn I am a 45 year old male, normally good health. Type 2 diabetic with my sugar controlled by diet and oral medication. My question is, for around 10 years I have had an issue with vomitting after my first bite of a meal. It doesn't matter what it is rice, potatoe, bread, meats. It feels as if there is a blockage in my chest after the the first bite. I chew my food into smaller pieces for better digestion and that doesn't make a difference.
Avatar m tn i did an upper endoscopy and biopsy and just the proffesor doctor told me that i have h, pylori infection. he did not mention gastritis. i need to go to toilet many times during a day and sometimes mucous. bowel runling in addition to the symptoms i mentioned before.
338416 tn?1420045702 Since Copaxone is a copolymer, histamine H1-receptor antagonist may not work well. The histamine H2-receptor antagonists, like cimetidine (Tagamet) or ranitidine (Zantac) and famotidine (Pepcid) might actually work better. I know, it sounds goofy, but the histamine response causes the acid pumps in the stomach to turn on. The histamine H2-receptor antagonists are becoming pretty common in the treatment of allergic reactions not controlled by typical antihistamines.
1701959 tn?1488551541 It went away and only flaired up a little here and there. This past week it came back and hurt like crazy again... to put pressure there causes discomfort and eating too much seems to make it worse. I've had the blood test for H. Pylori which was negative and am going to my GI doc in 2 days. Does this sound like Gastritis? I do take a lot of motrin as tylenol does not help. Just so worried!
1213000 tn?1280463161 I know that Motrin interact with blood thinners like warfarin and coumarin as well as some peptic ulcer disease treatments like cimetidine and ranitidine. The best thing is to discuss the option of changing your medication with your rheumatologist. Tell him/her about your cardiologist’s warning so he/she can pick up your ideal treatment. As you can guess, suggesting alternative analgesics in the forum would be too hazardous in your case.
1312801 tn?1273788647 I have Molluscum Contagiosm and HSV2. The molluscum has been on my body for over 2 years now, on my thighsand butt cheeks. i have tried acid treatment and herbal remedies but these did not work for me at all. My question is, because i have herpes, does this prevent the molluscum from going away? i know they are both viruses.. i was just wondering if there is any connection whatsoever between the two.
926651 tn?1244140366 I have been on Coumadin for most of the last two years following two episodes of clots in my right leg. My INR varied between 1.8 and 2.4 and most often was between 2.0 and 2.2. In those two years may other medications, my diet, and level of exercise remained mostly the same. My Coumadin dose was 5mg four days a week and 7.5mg three days a week for most of the two years. Now my INR has suddenly jumped up. Yesterday it tested at 4.9, so my doctor had me retested today and it was 4.3.

Avatar n tn and conditions where the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Over-the-counter cimetidine is used to prevent and treat symptoms of heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach. Cimetidine is in a class of medications called H2 blockers. It decreases the amount of acid made in the stomach.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar f tn I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
Avatar f tn The H2-receptor antagonists such as cimetidine and ranitidine may help control symptoms either prophylactically or by lessening symptoms during an attack. Tricyclic antidepressants such as doxepin, also are often potent H1 and H2 antagonists and may have a role in therapy, although side effects limit their use. For very severe outbreaks, an oral corticosteroid such as Prednisone is sometimes prescribed. You woul dneed to taper off the steroids gradually.
Avatar m tn To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so. I also noticed when taking TUMS that I only need to take less than one tablet for it to be effective (say about 500 mg /day. Occasionally 750mg). One question I have is would it be better to only take Tums instead - even if I need to use ~500mg each day?
Avatar n tn Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.

Avatar n tn Had IV fluids for a day and Cyclizine injections to stop sickness, plus Ranitidine antacids which made a huge difference for me. Will be on Cyclizine + Ranitidine oral tablets for the rest of my pregnancy, am 18+2 and looking forward to being able to enjoy it at last!
Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
