1210142 tn?1266077031 I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole. Please, let me know what your opinion is and have you heard about any interaction between those two? I don’t need an additional heart attack.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
Avatar m tn s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted. Does anyone have experience with taking this?
Avatar m tn I forgot - I also have a really weird metallic taste in my mouth and some slight dizziness.
Avatar f tn He said because I stopped the medicine so abruptly all the time and my stomach things it has to produce acid because the medicine would lower the acid levels. Again another 3 months of pantoprazole and the usual diet. Now i just got my second egd done and the dr confirmed again that I had a lot of acid in my stomach and that it would not be an ulcer yet but the stomach lining would look very thin. I'm waiting on the results now. I also have gilberts disease (fatty liver) since I was born.
Avatar m tn This has been on-going for a few years. It was determined I have GERD but I have no acid reflux symptoms other than occasional indigestion/gas. I have no heartburn or reflux type symptoms and my EDG showed only 1 small erosion. I've been on PPI's like pantoprazole, omeprazole, lanoprazole, all because of this "lump sensation" that developed years ago.
Avatar n tn You will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried. Many a times a persisting H pylori infection can be the cause behind acidity not responding to treatment.

Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.

Avatar f tn I have the same problem which I, too, thought might be caused by Omeprazole. I did find, like CalGal, a link between Omeprazole and a cough, and it was also causing itchy skin down my spine area. Changing my PPI to Lansoprazole recently has not made the slightest difference, and I continue to cough all day and all night, a dry, irritating cough. I also have gastritis, oesophagitis, a Hiatus hernia, none of which had been symptomatic other than nausea, and a lack of desire to eat.
