oxycontin

Avatar f tn What is the difference between Oxycontin and percocet? I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?
Avatar m tn Not sure if you are talking about oxycontin or oxycodone pills in various mixes and forms. Either way, oxycontin and percoccet have the narcotic oxycodone in it. Oxycontin is pure oxycodone in a time release form while percoccet is a mix of oxycodone and another OTC pain reliever. Oxycodone is a stronger narcotic then the narcotic in vicodin which is hydrocodone. Both will cause WD. The WD from oxycodone was always much worse for me then hydrocodone but some say it's the same.
Avatar m tn The only difference between oxycodone and oxycontin is one is a time release and the other is not. Oxycontin is sopose to last 12 hours. Oxycodone is soposed to be taken every 4-6 hours. There are many myths between these 2 drugs. Just google "Difference beteeen Oxycodone and Oxycontin " and a heap of stuff comes up.
Avatar n tn s either a Roxicet 30mg or an Oxycontin 30mg. The Roxicet is an immediate release of the whole 30mg of oxycodone and the Oxycontin, if swallowed whole, is a timed release version of 30mg of oxycodone. Secondly, telling a doctor that you have an opiate addiction does not mean you won't be treated for pain. If the doctor is a good doctor, then it just means that they are more cautious with treating your pain. That's why addictionologists are great alternatives for us addicts.
558096 tn?1255887002 Actually the molecule difference between oxycontin and heroin is 3, not so similar with percacet .......... and how you use i.e orally snorting smoking oxycontin has a huge impact on your addiction and the tolerance and the effects on your body. There is a difference between these drugs.

Avatar f tn Are you here to get clean or here to figure out how to get high? Why do you ask such questions?

197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
217599 tn?1202850952 I am not sure they make the 160mg anymroe, but they do still make the 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, and 80mg oxycontin(which is a time-released oxycodone) Much stronger.
Avatar f tn What's the difference between oxycontin and oxycodone? I looked it up in a google search but the answers were confusing. Anyone? Love, Peace and Blessings...Rev P.S. Thanx for your support over the past few days, I am much better than I was when I posted because I'd unwittingly had gone c/t off percocet. I wrote in one of my last posts that doc. was giving me 7.5's but actually it is sraight oxycodone 15mgs.
Avatar m tn The difference between a 2.5mg percocet and an 80mg oxycontin is astronomical, and could mean the difference between life and death. Cutting a time release form of medication can lead to fatality...these are very serious medications with very serious side effects.
15290316 tn?1447023108 This is a topic that comes up alot on this forum....and sometimes I find it hard to see the difference in "addiction" and dependence. I, myself, am an addict and I let my disease of addiction run my life for many years. I am now a bit over 19 months clean, and am very grateful for what I am and where I am. Here's my trouble with the two.....I know many addicts that "claim" that their pain is so unbearable, that can't be without the pills.
Avatar f tn Over a 4 month period I was Rx'd Vicodin 10-325 tab, Percocet and than Roxicet for pain related to b/l rotator cuff tears. I was not advised to take a stool softener and at times was very constipated. About 4 weeks after one shoulder surgical repair and when I was using Vicodin intermittently, I than developed gastritis. Zantac calmed my system after three weeks and was than discontinued. Now I have a heavy feeling in my stomach and significant burping. My bowel has also slowed.
445312 tn?1205376479 roxicet is percocet, roxicodone is oxycodone. Roxicet and Roxicodone are slang so the person at the clinic may never have heard of it. Keep posting daily and we will all help you get through this. I was feeling great 2 days into stopping the vicodin I thought I could quit smoking too, not a good idea, I caved on that after 2 days. I said let me take care of 1 addiction at a time.
Avatar n tn t hardly walk coz of pain in every part of my body, but I do try and plod on, my elbows are so sore and lumpy and itchy , most of the time I feel like I have millions of little insects crawling in side my scin, I would like to no if thete is a stronger painkiller I can take I take oxycontin and oxycodone, but they just take the edge of my pain, can you give me some advice please thankyou
Avatar m tn if it was me i would go back to the percs for the taper because percs and oxy are the same narcotic only difference is percs have tylenol and oxy do not and they are extended release. since you are taking 80mg a day you would be safe if you can get some 10/325 percs and the reason i say use percs for the taper is because you will know exactly how much you are taking instead of guessing while cutting the oxys up.
Avatar f tn So I have been on oxycodone and roxicet ( not at the same time, the dr will write it for one or the other) Both meds are 5-325 strength. It seems like everytime I get a script for the roxicet I end up getting very sick to my stomach and vomiting. I am taking the medication as prescribed. I know the two medicines are basically the samething so my question is, why is one medication making me sick to my stomach while the other one does not?
Avatar n tn I am currently on oxycontin 40 a day and endone 20mg per day. Same thing, one long lasting other faster. Because i desperately want to get off this stuff girlfriend has suggested Doloxene (dextropropoxphene napsylate 100mg tabs) maybe 8 a day and valium (5mg maybe 4 a day) and clonazepam (2mg? dont know how many to take). I broke my neck (c6/7) in car accident 10 years ago and fell down stairs six months ago T9 and T 12 crush fractures and nothing would take the pain away.
Avatar f tn Importantly, differences between subtype 1a and 1b (by far the most frequently encountered genotype 1 subtypes in clinical practice) include different efficacies of antiviral drugs and different resistance profiles to such drugs. Indeed, several HCV inhibitors appear to have selective activity against different HCV genotype 1 subtypes, both in vitro and in vivo....
Avatar m tn what is the difference between addiction and dependence? I was reading another post and someone mentioned that he/she thought someone was dependent not addicted.. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for any responses.
