Avatar f tn Is it true that there's a difference between period cramps and early pregnancy cramps? I've been having cramps for like 4 days straight now...
Avatar f tn Mentrual like cramps are normal in early pregnancy ,you have them because your uterus is stretching/expanding and making room for the baby.If it is not severe or you experience bleeding then nothing to worry abt it is normal.Have a healthy 9 months.
Avatar f tn What is the difference between braxton hicks and real contractions? I have had cramps for 30 mins straight.
Avatar f tn Yeah its normal to have cramps during the early stage of pregnancy and yes you feel bloated.
Avatar n tn I did ! No worries this is normal in early pregnancy unless they become progressively worse and too painful. Mention it to your doc!
Avatar f tn I am also 5 weeks but without cramps... This is my second baby...for my first son...I had a lot of menstrual like cramps early in my pregnancy.
Avatar f tn During the earliest stages of pregnancy some women mistake the cramping for their menstrual cycle. This could be due to the fact that they may experience a little spot bleeding too. Spotting and cramping are classic symptoms of implantation, which occurs when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus. In most cases, the spotting disappears within two or three days, but the cramping remains. What Causes Cramping During Early Pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Its like menstrual cramps but much worse. You will know when you are in labor without a doubt. During contractions, the abdomen becomes hard. Between contractions, the uterus relaxes and the abdomen becomes soft. The way a contraction feels is different for each woman, and may feel different from one pregnancy to the next. But labor contractions usually cause discomfort or a dull ache in your back and lower abdomen, along with pressure in the pelvis.
Avatar f tn Contractions feel like menstrual cramps but stronger and you definitely feel the start, peak, and end. Sounds like you're having BH.
Avatar f tn m a little confused on what a Braxton hicks is and how to know the difference between that and a real contraction. If someone could explain to me how they feel please. Also I have been having cramps in my sides that feel like menstrual cramps. At first I thought it was round ligament pain but it's much more intense and persistent, and the pain will come and go, so are those contractions?
Avatar f tn i had cramps at the begging of my pregnancy then it went away on it's own as I got further along I am on my third trimester now I am due in 8,weeks good luck to you hope everything comes OK for u guys
Avatar f tn Is it normal to get cramps that feel like menstrual? This seemed to happen of and on today.
Avatar f tn When the uterus stretches it feels like menstrual cramps, mine were a but stronger than regular menstrual cramps. If they get unbearable I would call the doctor just to be safe.

1661682 tn?1313135396 ye. i got to take it easy anyway cz i lost a baby 5 months ago and i might have to give up work to.
709912 tn?1229203300 It might be early labor. I have read where premature labor can feel like menstrual cramps. It could also be Braxton hicks but Im not sure. If you have more than 4 cramps an hour, you should call your OB ASAP. That is what the OB nurse told me on Friday when I was having contractions showing on the monitor, although I didn't feel them.
Avatar f tn There's a difference between cramps and sharp pains. Yes, cramps are completely normal, esp feeling like you're on your prd esp in first trimester. Sharp pains that have you kneeling over, you should see a dr about.
1523981 tn?1311318595 It can be, yes. Your uterus is growing and expanding as the baby grows larger. This is going to put pressure on your entire lower portion of your body. Sometimes though these cramps can actually be contractions and as you're too early for baby to come this would be dangerous. Does it feel like a squeezing pain at all, or just normal menstrual cramps. For reassurance, you can also phone L&D or your doctor and explain the pain to them and see what they say about it.
Avatar f tn Then at 24wks I started getting random uterine contractions that felt like bh but with a menstrual cramp and pain in the back and would take my breath away, even had one in the middle of an ob appointment, he still said it was ok because it was random. At 27wks, I woke up feeling a bit off and occassional menstrual cramps. By lunch I also had intestinal cramps and felt like I needed to have diarrhea so went to the toilet, felt like I couldn't get up for 1.
Avatar f tn There is a difference between early labor and pre labor. Not to be a buzz kill but this sounds like pre labor to me which can last weeks... I am no doctor so definitely still get in contact with yours but I have been having similar symptoms for a few days and when I mentioned it to my doctor 2 days ago she said "yeah, that will probably be pretty normal for a while" I am also 1 cm dilated but not at all effaced so I know the discomfort is doing something but it happens so slowly.
1454858 tn?1306784378 The heartbeat can be SEEN on ultrasound around 6-8 weeks...it can be HEARD via doppler any time between 9-12 weeks. Cramps are very normal in early pregnancy. As long as you aren't cramping WORSE than menstrual cramps and there's no blood associated with it then it's most likely normal. This is exactly the reason why *I* think it's a bad idea for women to read too many pregnancy books.
1475515 tn?1287189318 and to top things off now im having cramps but their real light cramps and im not on my period... could this be a sign of pregnancy ? ive taking a home pregnancy test but they came out negative...how long should i wait before i do take a home pregnancy ?
