difference between loestrin and yaz

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.

ve been on the ortho series until I was 32 and the Loestrin (24 and 28) up until my pregnancy and continued it after pregnancy. Both made a big difference. Only now am I feeling more 'inflammatory' like pain. But they said I definately have adhesions (ovary wrapped behind my uterus). I possibly might begin menopause (hot flashes). But all I can say is that birth control pills definately gave me a life. I would try them. Never been on Yaz. You can always get off of them.

I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.

I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. I've experienced depression, anxiety, headaches, weird breathing/yawning side effects, you name it...

I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?

I was on Loestrin 24 for two months and hated it. I had bad headaches and it really affected me sexually. I stopped taking it last week and am a week late for my period. I took a test and it says i'm not pregnant, but i don't know why i haven't gotten my period. I didn't restart a new pack this past week since we are trying to get pregnant, but just being off the pills for one week, i feel so much better.

I too got them a lot while on Yaz. I switched to Loestrin and still got them frequently. But they were reduced when I started wiping my vagina a few times a day with a tissue and water only in addition to bathing daily. Drying with a blow dryer after showers and keeping the area dry through the day. Salt baths seemed to help some too. You also are at higher risk if you are diabetic and have sex frequently.

I was on Loestrin 1/20 Fe for 2 years and it initially seemed to help the acne, but eventually it got worse. I switched to Estrostep 1/20 for 6 months and it got even worse. Then I switched to Ortho Cyclen in hope that the higher estrogen dosage would help. It has and my face is almost clear after 3 months. However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.

I think it is breakthrough bleeding. I had a month long period on Yaz and stopped it because I couldn't stand it. It was crazy. Just make sure you take it at the same time everyday. That will help regulate it. At least it does with Loestrin.

Probably just a strange way your body is taking to the birth control. I take it and when I switched to it from yaz I had dark colored break through bleeding, but only lasted a few days. Call your gyno.

Three months ago after I left the guy I was with I started getting irritation down there. It would be so bad I would scratch myself raw and it would bleed. He has said he was tested before we were together and was clean. And we used a condom 98% of the time. It hasn't gone away in the past few months, and I've started getting symptoms like discharge (sometimes normal, sometimes thick and cottege cheesy) and I also have cracks on my perenium that don't seem to heal ever.

Is there any difference in the contraception effectiveness of Yaz in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome? If so what are they?

per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?

m unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?

Did you check the FAQ sheet on LoEstrin? Sometimes BC have crazy side effects and if this is your first BC postpardum, I would attribute the symptoms to that? I hope you feel better soon and let us know!?

Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.

It is unusual for it to act that fast but Yaz can have the side effect of lightening or stopping the period all together but from what I understand it is after at least a month but your body may react differently to the medication a doctors opinion would be the best advice.

I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?
