difference between ibuprofen and ketoprofen

the poster who wrote about ketoprofen is correct. it is an NSAID like ibuprofen and although not steroids, NSAIDS do the same thing for inflammation and pain (just not quite as well) and are safe (unless you have ulcer or kidney disease). you do not need a prescription, ketoprofen works the same way as ibuprofen just in different dosages. there is also a perscription med called feldine that is similar.

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Now I am on Tylenol #3 for residual pain as I rehab both back and foot simultaneously. I take ibuprofen during the day and try to get by with 2-3 Tylenol #3. Also have some pretty serious arthritis in my back now, and hands. I can go a couple of days with nothing, some days, I'm taking 3. My "old dr" always said that there was no need to live life in chronic pain. I miss her! My new(ish) dr is giving me a lot of grief about even being on ibuprofen. I need a new doc, for sure.

Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.

I have Ankoylosing Spondylitis and Reactive Arthritis ( symptoms same as RA). I take Enbrel, an injection I give myself once a week, my sed rate varies between 50 and 100, today is a very bad day, can barely walk and my hands are very swollen. I was dx 4 years ago with both. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication. I was recently diagnosed with a PFO as well as an ASA with right to left shunting.. I'm just wondering what the difference is between the two.. From what I've read they seem pretty similar, is that correct?? I was told to take a baby aspirin a day and to come back every two to three year for echos. BTW, I also have a bicuspid aortic valve that was found at the same time as the PFO and ASA.

The DUO test cannot distinguish between HIV1 and HIV2 and it does test for antigens for HIV1 plus antibodies and only antibodies for HIV2. Combo only tests antibodies for HIV1 and HIV2.
