7003050 tn?1390124013 No. I use a Netty pot with sterile/preboiled water to decrease the symptoms. Went to see my Ob and allergist. I'm continuing my claratin and singular. Allergist changed flonase to rhinocort (super expensive). They want me to avoid triggering another bad asthma attack. That can be harmful to baby. Hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn Thank you, will due the betty pot soon. I took some Benadryl but it has only made me sleepy instead of any better.
Avatar n tn I keep having these headaches or tightness like symptoms at the center of my forehead, between my eye browes. I am on claritin D and rhinocort nasal sprays. I get weekly allergy shots. Medicine and shots help but not completely. I live in southeast michigan area. When I travel away from there, I start to feel better. Especially if I go further east toward Canada or go out of state. What is it that makes me sick all the time around where I live.
197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I read that herpes on tongue is relatively rare but how can I tell the difference between canker and herpes? Tested negative for strep and mono…are there any tests that I should request that are STD or non STD related such as general throat culture to see what grows? I do not take antibiotics lightly and do not want to be reckless with them but I wonder if it would be worth a try?
Avatar m tn I was paying $135 or so for Nasonex, which I thought was ridiculously expensive at the time. When Flonase became an OTC product, I thought Nasonex would become cheaper. That's what competition is supposed to do. But noooooo... I went to CVS today and the price was $218 for Nasonex. That is a total ripoff... Why did the price go up? So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun.
Avatar f tn I am 23 yrs old and I am allergic to all pets that have fur or feathers, as well as tabacco, dust, grass, and dandelion. I take cetirizine hydrochloride and Rhinocort everyday. However, a few months ago, I started to get an itchy/tingly feeling in my teeth, throat, chest, and toungue. I got it almost everyday, and sometimes for several days straight. My doctor said it might be a side affect of the antihistimine. So, I have switched to loratadine and have been using this one for a few months.
Avatar f tn It is a bit of a lottery everytime I go out and about and I have to constantly be aware when I am out and about. My question is as my sister died of an anaphalactic shock, is it likely that my reactions wil continue to become more severe as I get older.
Avatar n tn Qvar and Rhinocort are corticosteroids. These depress the immune system and lead to osteoporosis. Steroids can also cause adrenal fatigue, especially with long-term use. I have sworn off all steroids, having suffered the worst of their side effects. I take albuterol and antihistamines and, in the place of steroids, take natural anti-inflammatories which safe, cheap, and more effective than steroids. But, hey, the drug companies can't make any money on them.
Avatar n tn No I have not had a topical steroid prescribed, I go see the dentist on next Tuesday, the only medication i am prescribed is Valtrex, Singulair, Rhinocort, and Yaz, just started Yaz this month. However, been on Valtrex consist for a year nearly now.
579469 tn?1311705550 The steriod shot will help big time with the swelling of the nose for about 2 to 4 days, depends on the person. Flonase and all the steriod inhalers help so much and the doctor will definatly give you that. yeah and just like GoingTo MakeIt said the Afrin,4-way nose sprays, etc. will give you a rebound effect and thats why people get addicted to them....like me...everytime I get a cold or allergies. I can not stand having a severely stuffed nose.
Avatar f tn Importantly, differences between subtype 1a and 1b (by far the most frequently encountered genotype 1 subtypes in clinical practice) include different efficacies of antiviral drugs and different resistance profiles to such drugs. Indeed, several HCV inhibitors appear to have selective activity against different HCV genotype 1 subtypes, both in vitro and in vivo....
Avatar m tn what is the difference between addiction and dependence? I was reading another post and someone mentioned that he/she thought someone was dependent not addicted.. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Avatar n tn One medication may have been developed first and others later that are somewhat similar chemically and in the same chemical family but they may be completely different medications. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication. Any of these medications can be prescribed for other purposes as determined by a doctor or psychiatrist or other treating professional.
Avatar f tn I tried similac and it didnt sit well with them. I know a lot of moms who used similac and were good with it.
8520554 tn?1398806988 What is the difference between raspberry tea & raspberry leaf tea? Some people told me about raspberry tea bringing on labor but then I see a lot of people on here talking about raspberry leaf tea?
Avatar f tn I was sent to a second endocrinologist that told me my issue is because of Flonase, I gained weight and that my pituitary tumor is only 3 mm x 3 mm and that it’s small and they would bet me it would go away in a year. I explained to the Dr that I only use Flonase during allergy season and we were still 3 -4 weeks away from that. She also refused to listen to me when I told her all my issues happened when I was working out, losing body fat and gaining muscle overall dropping 25-30 pounds.
Avatar f tn s since this all started and it never helped. What is the difference between Flonase and Nasonex?
438513 tn?1215703374 If you want to try to get rid of your sinus issues/allergies, you might try getting some systemic enzymes and taking them as prescribed between meals. Honestly, I had horrible sinus headaches and sinus infections for many years till I started taking digestive enzymes between meals. Just recently I realized that I could take systemic enzymes between meals instead. They are made specifically to help all body systems instead of digesting food. And they are much cheaper per pill.
15290316 tn?1447023108 This is a topic that comes up alot on this forum....and sometimes I find it hard to see the difference in "addiction" and dependence. I, myself, am an addict and I let my disease of addiction run my life for many years. I am now a bit over 19 months clean, and am very grateful for what I am and where I am. Here's my trouble with the two.....I know many addicts that "claim" that their pain is so unbearable, that can't be without the pills.
Avatar f tn A positive blood test always indicates infection, not only exposure. If you have other questions about it, ask them as follow-up comments in your other thread. Please stop starting new threads with each additional quesiton that comes to mind.
